So I have two Krakot Renegades (2 submachine guns and chest mine sculpts), a gift from a friend; they are the same miniature. Am I allowed to field both of these with different/same profiles or do I need to kit bash and convert it to make it unique? I ask cause I vaguely remember a rule that I am only allowed one of the same model sculpt on the table at one time. but that doesn't make sense with these low cost single sculpt multiple profile models.
There's no rule against duplicate models, a lot of people convert to avoid clones but that's a personal thing, not a game rule.
"The use of other Corvus Belli miniatures is allowed; however, players must inform their adversary which trooper is being represented. The figure must use the same size base as the trooper being represented." From the ITS document. You are free to use both as long as you inform your opponent which miniature uses what profile.
Converting is never required. Just make sure you have some way of keeping straight which you are playing with which loadout so that there's no confusion later in the game about who can do what.
To avoid confusion with models and their loadouts I use little stickers on the model's bases, and reference that on the army list with matching stickers. (The picture shows a listing of all loadouts for all the models in Starter Boxes, which is a convenient way of managing a series of introductory games. Players can switch loadouts by replacing a sticker on the list and thus change a Hacker to a Light Grenade Launcher or suchlike). Spoiler: Stickers to ID troopers I competed in an ITS where I'd egregiously proxied half the army and, feeling bad about it, and anyway being myself unsure about the models and what they were supposed to be representing, simply wrote the trooper's name on a tiny bit of tape and stuck that on the base - pretty good for my opponent. I guess it might be more difficult if you're into heavily into painting and have scenic bases, but something similar should still be possible.
