See, it's not that they're unwilling to do it...they just haven't gotten around to figuring out how to milk the $$$ from it.

I built some Outriders for someone. They're actually really nice. Just don't expect them to steer well...because they're not meant to.

The Invader is...questionable. Apparently, it was originally envisioned to have Chapter Serfs on it but someone thought it would provide confusion and people would think it was Imperial Guard, not Marines, for the units.

Playing a mission with panoplies... With 20s in the dice roll, pick the bike. ALWAYS, pick the bike. The bike loves you, you too.

    ¿Playing Avatar? pick the bike.
¿Playing Hac Tao? pick the bike.
    ¿Playing Achiles? ... PI-CK THE BI-KE.
¿McMurrough? Run with the bike on his shoulders.
¿The kitty cat sujian? meeting his beloved, also in his shoulders.
¿Playing Daturazzi? ... oh dear. Pick the bike, then launch over your head.
    ¿Playing your mutawi? hell.... ¡yeah!.

Loved or not, the astethic bikes inside Infinity universe, are the essence for his CB Sc-Fi lore, remember, they don't leave their "manga" style desings: cute chicks, rude guys, guns, robots, high tech, gangs, elite forces and bikes... That's funny or not, just decide pick/play the bikers profiles in their game... Actually, all armies from our real world, have motorized units in bikes... as recon, rescue, protect or assault missions, also having airbone bikers too, including special forces... ¿why not in a military forces inside the Human Sphere?... in a... ¿tabletop skirmish wargame? .... even we playing with a city, streets, harbor docks as scenario games.

    NOPE.

I'm gonna stop you right there. Real world military units don't use bikes for literally any of the things you're talking about. Not beyond driving them to or from the localities. There aren't guys zipping around on dirt bikes shooting at each other like it's a Jason Bourne movie.

Real world militaries also don't use swords, Infinity has always been about Sci fi and anime tropes over realism.

Real world militaries don't have powered armor for swordwielders.

And what scifi/anime trope does "we have everyone riding motorcycles" fall under?

Akira started it in the 1980's

The Motorslaves in Bubblegum Crisis turn into bikes.

    Judge Dredd

Its admittedly more common with the other side of the law in anime at least, but cops on bikes is a staple

    More recently Durarara as well
Powered Armour makes swords even more useless. You defeat armour by applying a lot of force to a small point, something that swords are very bad at, but guns are excellent at. PA lets you carry a bigger gun giving far more effectiveness than a (servo) muscle powered weapon.

modern militaries also don't use screaming, angry, undisciplined morons armed with some variant of a CCW, smoke grenades and a glorified blunderbus to charge the enemy to beat them senseless, and yet we have warbands.

Last time I rolled bike for a Bounty Hunter, I basically lost the game because of not immediately getting off it. Colour me not impressed with bikes.
Swords in general have historically been of greater symbolic than practical value, though. I mean, even Samurai were primarily horse archers before some creative historical revisionism in the 19th century. There's been much better weapons at dealing with armour across the ages than swords.

Depends on what you mean with "modern" :)
Modern army? No. Modern day "army". You betcha, but smoke grenades are much too advanced for them.

Well, that's a dirty BH cost all of your game. Shame on her/him. Bikes isn't the best choices for play, but... they are funny when you have the day... I read all the threat discussing just only how bad be are the bikes or... isn't inside in to the Infinity lore in armies... its just a game.
I don't want to believe you saying one humble BH on bike, ruined your game XD or... ¿yes?... ¡bcs your karma to hate the bikes!

No, YT can't show much combat footages of any types, lol. You can asume that's are a fanvid for military bikers or not... just see how doing manouvers to get laugth the people like a circus, or asume the military forces can use all type of vehicles required of their missions running to do. But yeah, ¿that's a relevant question and answer? maybe you can find some Brazilan or Colombian elite forces runing operations against narco-traficants inside the favellas or jungle, with cars, APC, copters, bikes, quads, zodiacs... etc.

Random bad idea for an experimental house rule: Bikes have an optional skill (let’s call it Strafe) that represents off-board flanking using the bike’s speed. It basically works like Parachutist (pick a board edge and enter from there) and if they use it, their Impetuous moves are toward the opposite table edge instead of the enemy. If they leave a table edge they can re-enter from that same edge next turn. Basically, instead of starting in the DZ, revving for a bit, then charging out, they perform strafing runs (thus the name).

Pros: More characterful, provides an additional option for a disruptive flanker, makes in-universe sense more than a bike in your DZ sometimes. Possibly fun.

Cons: Yet another form of AD or similar.

You have a very difficult writing style to parse and I have no clue what tone you might be writing this in. The ABH cost me the game because it gained a too large silhouette to hide and stopped gaining cover, which then proceeded to cost me the 5-person Core bonus, which then allowed my opponent to deal with a bunch of clumped up units (due to the Fireteam proximity requirements) much more easily.

"It's just a game" is the most useless and self-defeating argument you could possibly write, btw, just spend a bit of time thinking about Maslow's Pyramid and the value of money.

I don't think it's a terrible idea, plus you could alter lower levels of Airborne Deployment to be more consistent with higher levels of Airborne Deployment that way - however, I think that Mechanized Deployment is essentially the best representation of motorcycles that this game has and that what's truly missing from bikes is a malus on BS Attacks and CC Attacks as far as simulation goes.

Eh... maybe that's a meta thing.
Locally around here it seems people are avoiding picking up bikes even if they belong to their faction(s). I don't think it's an exaggeration to say they're the worst selling unit type that Infinity has to offer our meta. It's not like TAGs where sometimes it feels like everyone owns at least one Guijia even though it's Combined and Nomads they play.

Bikes were cool when not everybody had their own copy/paste version even when it makes no sense and they felt special. Now they are just another rung in the ladder of the mounting homogeneization of factions.
