Thank you! Yes, well I use rolling pins ( awesome tool ) from Green Stuff World plus various plastic profiles. All my bases are made this way. Here's the link. http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/t...-Rolling-Pin-Hobby-Roller-Factory-Ground.html No it's a completely different backdrop, that one was to similar in color to the mini. Actually I made very few correction to the photos. Increase shadows a bit, little more contrast and saturation but barely noticeable. I think so too. Yes, you're right. Over exposer is causing me this problem. I need to play some more with lightning.
set in camera Exposure compensation on lets say -0.3 should help a lot (it may turn out you actualy need to underr expose them by -1 or higher to get a correct effect - digital expozure works as it wishes :P
OTOH, one common recomendation is to overexpose a bit without clipping (called Expose to the Right, and related to how digital sensors aren't the best in shadow zones), and fix later. Examples with pictures https://digital-photography-school.com/exposing-to-the-right/ & https://better-photography.com/what-does-exposing-to-the-right-mean/ and no pictures just explanation https://photofocus.com/2009/08/29/expose-to-the-right/
Yes but with minis you usualy end up with completly burned whites if you over exposure - but you can cheat set on EC 0 - an over exposured (just add a time to shutter in this way you will over exposure ) and then reduce EC to lets say -1 or even -1.1/3 so you end with not over exposed out of over exposed setting ;) - this will not work on all cameras as som of them got a systems "preventing " this error :P
I said without clipping. You look at the histogram (camera one) to make sure you are not going over the top (that and the computer based compesation are explained in the pages). Better than guessing if you moved it too much (flat highlights), or did then undid too much (not ETTR). Another way is via Highlight Alert (Overexposed Warning, or whatever the maker picked as name) some camera have in the live view. It will mark with a weird color or flash the zones that are saturating.
Showing some VIP remotes and testing photo shots. I think I'm very close to real deal. I almost fixed the contrast issue thanks to Maru and others. I lowered exposure by -1 and it helped a ton. You can see the tones going from dark orange/brown to almost white. Happy chab.
Do you do manual white balancing with a greycard? This could also help very much to get the colors right. In general, I found this website very helpful https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/
Yes I did that and colors are more accurate using greycard setting, but I lost a bit of saturation on the way. Nothing serious that can't be fixed later on.
Yes grey card WB eats saturation - byt widen the spectrum so you r base colour is not white but beige actualy - well now we can c this :) (i should stop being so lasy with my photos XD and dust off my backdrop .. ) o and you got this thingi on the end of your drone - im usualy encontering thous without. o and best thing about what yuio have lerned in photo part isthat you may use it in portrait photo settings - do wonders :)
These are great. I'm a big fan of the extreme highlights and contrast. I really need to find the courage to do the same at some point.
I've been working on some other projects lately so my Tunguska minis were neglected quite a bit. Yesterday I started working on the heckler mini...here are some wip pics. I changed the orange racipe a bit.
@Modock But the effort is worth it. The Heckler and Hollowman look amazing and remind me of Orioles at this current stage.
Finished The Heckler and Hollowman. Heckler is one of my favourite Infinity minis, really cool model.
Where's the :nosebleed: emoji, CB?!? No 'fill' light bouncing off the wall/ceiling? I used to use one of those 300W halogen torchieres for a fill light while painting, but you can't get them anymore. You can still get 300W halogen work lamps, though. They do pump out a lot of heat! I think I like the old orange recipe better, but this one works for orange cloth instead of orange armor.
