It's not enough since Minelayer may only be used to deploy respecting deployment rules, meaning any part of your ZoC outside the DZ+8" is also not in the deployable area. I think the closest Armoury door should be in range, though.

Remember, with Minelayer it is not B2B that's where you deploy the item. You don't use the AP Mine skill nor the D-Charge skill.

It fulfills the requirements of Minelayer, but not the requirements of D-charges... Though even as I say that I'm thinking 'can fulfilling the requirements of one skill bypass the requirements of another? '.

Another thing to consider is Deployable weapons have attribute values which are never stated for D-charges, are they ARM0 BTS0 STR1 S0 like a mine or are they something else...

At what point is D-Charges (the skill) used? At what point does Minelayer require the Deployable Weapon or Equipment to have a profile?

The Hassassin Muyib Hussam Spec-Ops would be another example. The profile comes with D-Charges and can take Infiltration (8xp) and Minelayer (2xp).

Honestly can't recall the last time I saw someone play a spec-ops game haha... I'm not a fan of that particular game type personally.

If a D-Charge has been placed and not detonated by the end of the player's turn, where is it? If an engineer wants to use a Deactivator against it, where does it need to be pointed at? D-Charges do not use markers, but they are explicitly named as a possible target for a Deactivator.

As far as I understand D-Charges, their CC use is "CC-3, expend, and if successful, it explodes on the same sequence", while their normal use is "planted, and will remain there until an allied Engineer or D-Charge detonate, or an enemy model uses Deactivator to remove that D-Charge".

yes, but where exactly does the enemy model have to draw LOF to? Imagine your opponent drops a D-Charge against a target building of the Sabotage mission. Your opponent's Turn ends before he/she gets to detonate this D-Charge. Now you want to use the Deactivator to get rid of this D-Charge and deny the opponent the OP. Where do you shoot the Deactivator at? I don't know.

While there are no ruling (and it has been asked to turn the deactivator to a "does not require LoF" kinda tool), I'd expect rulings to say you need to draw LoF to the point the D-Charge was set. Placing a marker might be a good idea, too. Not perfect, but...

Slightly different question. But same model.
Can a unit 9 with forward deployment L2 and minelayer place amine at deployment beyond the 20" line, since it can deploy up to 20" with standard deployment zones, and minelayer allows placement of equipment within its zone of control, which would allow the mine to be 4" inside the opponents half of table.

The placement of the mine have to abide to the same deployment rules as the host model.
