It could go in the other direction, get really good ARM with possible Immunities and bring a DTW or two to shred through opposition, Dog Warrior-style. More likely though we'll just get something useless like the Boyg though, CB seems to have absolutely no clue how they want to design PanO lately.
The Teutagister amalgamation could still happen, though they were always the ones most on each other's toes IMO
This I can see, I'm talking about some speculation that was going around about Teutons getting removed.
If they are I reckon it'll be much in the way that Father Knights, Raiden, or Haramaki Zensenbutai were "removed".
To be fair my main fear is that the merge with the teutons would make the magisters worse and not the teutons better. The current trend has been to fuck with everything else and not improve the teuton (regardless of consistent suggestions by the forums ). We have gotten something solid from this including wildcard santiago killer hackers and the awesome new spitfire montesa biker . But we also lost linking magisters with hospitallers which was a core aspect of MO which leveraged a lot of strength
Well, we have a date now. 1.5 month, and we'll know what's what. Which is good, I really want to know if CB finally figured out what to do with PanO, or should I sell mine off
I'm kind of hoping for some changes on the low end of points in MO. Magisters definitely could use the update, and might put them low enough for what I'm looking for. There's just a lot of ways to spend points on big ticket troops/links, but then when you fill out the list with support/orders it can be painful. I'd like to see impetuous OS with Panzerfaust, mainly just things in the 10-20 point range that I don't feel like a tax to have.
When I saw the video, I just thought, it's a new opportunity .. please CB don't screw it up... again!
Aside from MO, while I don't think Sval is good design, Vanilla and every other PanO Sectorial are pretty neat right there. And even Sval is not weak. Imagine Sval being the worst PanO Sectorial in March.
Interesting point was brought up - possibly we might see a glimpse of new link team rules. what do you guys think, is it possible? CB said that they're planning to revisit them
It's not about power level, more about fun factor. If we're talking issues, then from my point of view it's less about some big problems, more about a collection of minor question marks. If we're talking Svala - Boyg seem pointless in sectorial with KoJ (or maybe it's just that I can't figure them out), Nokken and Locusts are way too similar as well - seems like a waste of a unit slot to use it on a unit that's more of a variation of a theme than something unique. But yeah, other sectorials are sound.
Gotta disagree here. Fun factor is a non measurable metric and almost never leads to a playable army. On the other hand a diverse and powerful Sectorial with multiple ways to get things done, like i.e. Shas is also fun to play by default. Sval is an example for a mechanically sound Sectorial that's held back by having excellent Links and nothing else. SAA is pretty much 95% viable troops with like 2 duds in there. Sval gets old pretty quick, SAA just keeps on giving the more you play. All 3 previous iterations of MO lacked diversity in pretty much every aspect of the game that wasn't MODless Spitfires. As an example for a diverse but not powerful Sectorial I can give you IA - which in my oppinion is also not fun to play as with how many bad matchups it has due to your core components being 2W Hackable, CC vulnerable statblocks with low survivability/pointcost..
Do I argue for it to be a measurable metric? I'm talking about my personal take here, and wonder if new MO iteration will be fun to play for me, while also hoping that it'll be mechanically sound. Playable and fun aren't mutually exclusive, won't you agree? I do agree about Acon, it was always the most satisfying PanO sectorial to play.
As noted fun factor might not be quantifiable in a true sense. However good gameplay and variety in list building can certainly be said to lead to fun more often than not. Rules just need to be decently strong not leagues ahead of the power curve . If anything I'd say something that was an army of nourkiases wouldn't be very fun to play as or against
It seems a new knight was teased in this podcast, new teutons? CC22, BS14, PH13, WIP13, ARM4, BTS6, 2W, S2, MA2, CC+BS Attack Continuous Dam, Mimetism (-6), Berserk +3, Dodge (+3), Dodge (+1"), FD +8", Religious Any german speaker can confirm? Min. 6
MO have been a bit screwy in Army lately, the Sepulchre breaker rifle disappeared and appeared again last week, worth reporting in the bugs thread.
