I already have most of MO, but CB seems to be into Action packs instead of starter sets these days, it's a convenient way of having one box for most of an army.
I figure the current 300 point box's days are numbered as it contains the soon to be discontinued Magister Knights. A Starmada size medium action pack could bring a Montesa, Sarges/Trinitrinitrins, the new "Knagister Mights" and fill in a couple other holes (maybe a new Joan!).
It doesn't. 4x Hospitallers, 3x OS + Auxbot, Joan, Crusader, Black Friar. Though I do hope that next starters will keep to the new, larger format.
So that if anyone missed it: Order Sergeants are now CC18. This also included the Trinitarians, who have D-Charges. So if you desperately need to kill avatar in CC, you have now a chance.
As with the newest update to ARMY you no longer need exactly 5 guys to form Crusader fireteam (non-DUO fireteam with Joan).
Participated in a local tournament. Faced with such a situation, in fact, stealth stopped working. Now hackers can attack outside LoF. It is sad :( Opponents put repeaters in the center and essentially blocked the advance of HI fireteam. In N3, this point was taken into account in the FAQ N3 Frequently Asked Question FAQ Version: 1.1 Q: Does Stealth stop Hacking AROs if the Hacker doesn’t have Line of Fire? A: Yes, it does. As stated in the rule, a trooper with Stealth that declares a Short Movement Skill or Cautious Movement Skill within the Zone of Control but outside LoF does not grant an ARO, so that prevents the Hacker from using any program, because that would be declaring an ARO. But now there is no such clarification. As I understand it, using fireteam, which is based on HI, is pointless in principle. You need to take TAG and a lot of LI. Also, the second unpleasant moment is the use of Command Tokens: Strategic Use Remove two Regular Orders from the adversary's Order Pool, for this Turn only. The player using the Command Token will decide from which Combat Group or Groups the Orders will be removed from. In N3, this rule worked when there were two groups, but now it works for one group. If you take one in Hidden and Parachutist, then you get 8 units. When the enemy uses Command Tokens, then only 6 orders are available on the first turn. The only way out is to take two groups and a maximum of one TAG, HI is useless to take because they are almost the same with TAGs in points.
I thought we were getting some updates for MO. Are they still coming after the army updates we got today or this is it?
So ITS season 12 is out and the new missions look awesome the only problem being that there is no longer the rule that doesnt allow an opponent to take 2 orders from a limited insertion list. This is going to hurt a little bit as we are already limited in our choices of tactical awareness and NCO meaning if you want to go first you have 8 orders and a LT. That being said I've been playing games like this since the start of N4 and been winning with with 8 orders going first. It's a bit more challenging and takes having a plan and being real careful but it is very doable. I also dont think it's too crazy of a change considering everyone has 15 orders max and a 10 order list is usually jam packed with durable 2 wound units. What do you guys think about this change between seasons?
Most of my opponents might have 15 models but they aren't limiting themselves to 15 orders . Between TA, nco, lt2 and a wealth of tools many of my opponents are consistently at 18 but have hit such wild numbers like 23. Hell half the time I feel like spending my command token isn't worth it because my opponents have counter intelligence as well. But who knows maybe the next rework sees some TA and lt2 sprinkled on MO. Not really holding up hope at this point
I dont quite know if this is the right thread for this, but while clicking through the Army Builder, i happened to run into an interesting synergy - If you take: Joan in Mobility Armor as your Lt., paired with a Tikbalang as Duo and then build a Core Team with an Teutronic NCO and Magisters + 1 OS (+1 Infamarer) and then just fill the list to one single 10 men Combat group - If I get this right, Inspiring Leadership and NCO bring me up to 12 "Regular" Orders for this combat group, inkl. one TAG-Joan "High speed Duo" and a 5 Man Core of mixed HI/(MI)/LI with an OS Paramedic/Hacker. Orders would be the following for example: 9 regulars, 1 Lt. Order, given to the Teutonic NCO Fireteam, and 2 Irregulars, one of the TAG and one of an WarCor or TechBee, making 12 Total for a combat group of 10. Is this possible or did I miss something?
Yes this is very possible. Things to keep in mind is that the tac aware order from the tag cannot be converted to regular with joan and must be spent on the tag which you'll probably be doing anyway. And also that joan can preform a cordinated order without the use of a command token with her LT order if you dont need an nco order that turn.
Ah okay...So I only get 11 Orders out of this; does the Duo link break if I use the Tacaware Order on the tik? And I am aware that this list is pretty straight forward, without any tricks and traps and very vulnerable to hacking, but it still seemed to have a lot of power to me. Could this even work? I even got to include and KH Santiago in the Core and a Mechanic, Paramedic and Hacker OS with 300 pt.
