Strange, seems stat CJ was in general disliked in tournament games (in favour of parachutist). And as a friend put that nicely "every AD is great if they stick the landing properly".
Landing on 16s with Controlled Jump is no joke. That's better odds of getting into an enemy DZ than Impersonation, and only the Liu Xing and Hellcats get better landing numbers in all of Infinity. If I could take the Jump Santiago in Vanilla I would already be doing it, in MO it's a harder sell thanks to more limited order supply but I can still see myself taking 2 to guarantee at least one landing. Since they're non-SWC attack pieces that can clear the way out of the DZ for you it might free up a bit more SWC for those lovely new Trinitarian Minelayers. I'm weird in that I tend to prefer spam AD over almost any other list archetype though, so take that how you will.
they're definitely good - only problem is if MO has the means to support them. Then again he's also in Starmada, so if you really like the profile that much you can play him there probably with better effect.
He doesnt need support, not with that toolkit. More accurately he is the support for the rest of your list. That thing has the potential to solo tear the heart out of an opponent on its own. Pick a problem and that unit has a reasonable solution to it.
Nah, Starmada's rubbish for the Santiago. Kappa are almost as costly as Order Sergeants and the cheaper 'bots are on the same kind of AVA. Trinitarians are a very high-quality Marker State Specialist who can score quickly to make up for what AD does to your order supply, the closest things Starmada has are the FD Crushers and Casanova who will be eaten by Skirmishers. They've got some decent LT options, but those are wasted on an AD list while MO has Joan, who is excellent, and a selection of sturdy Knights. Worse, he has to compete with the Crusher jump profile which I prefer over the Santiago as I'm not fond of KHDs in general- though Cybermask makes for some interesting possibilites on a jump troop. Lastly, MO has Auxbots. I am inordinately fond of Auxbots and they are extremely effective these days thanks to their trading ability, especially when enemy hard ARO has been removed.
For example of an MO list that makes good use of the AD santiago IMO. This will be one of the first things i run in MO ZwAGTU8gTWtpgSwBAQwBFAEEAAIyAQEAAxsBAQAEGwECAAUfAQEABh8BAQAHhdEBAQAIDgEBAAklAQEACiUBAQALJgECAAwbAQMA
Frankly I think MO look rather strong in N4. Unless you're playing something like Aleph which cheats with Kiranbots and Posthumans, everyone is only bringing 15 models tops so there is just less shit for that 5-man pain train to wade through. And when it's a quality vs quality battle, MO can generally give a good showing. Magisters getting the template mode for shotguns is also helpful. Just some questions - when would you want to AD in the santiago? Is he more a T2 piece, or is he meant to go T1 to enable the magister/santi/koj link? Do you see his priorities as more of a bully piece for cheerleaders, or as a specialist? Would you ever drop him out of LOS then cybermask to be extra cheeky? Also, how do you play with Joan, is she just bringing up the rear of the core link?
I think if you are going first you drop him top of the turn if you can and just do as much damage as possible
Same, I'm really looking forward to play PanO as more likely only MO in N4. Between cheap knight-themed TAGs (Seraph/TIK) with improved durability and survival (thanks gizmokit and crit change) or fun train with Teuton/Magister Haris, FT duo Infirmarer/KoJ, or more classical core compo, we have really good and new fancy toys out there to test out.
by any chance you can post a screen shot? dunno, my army7 is really buggy and I'm unable to open any provided code.
Man, theres a ton of questions I want to ask you. Such as what do you think of the Montesa Knight in MO or how to fit Dart into an MO list. Or how to deal with the fact that MO's LTs are super exposed and expensive. How do you protect your LT from assassination (impersonators or AD troops). I could go on. Maybe its time for an N4 guide to MO because people still don't get how to play it. lol
To get codes to work in the browser, you have to input the code and then select the army that code is for. The list will appear within the correct army. For some reason the browser version is bugged and doesn't open the correct army automatically. But the code is still read correctly.
I can tell you the montess a right now but the others ill look into later. I like the old montessa, at least in the sense that a fast, high BS, high arm/w HI had the potential to swing games. But I kept finding thag a combination of threat painting a target on its back and the lack of smoke with old impetuous meant that it was often practically limited in the table in use. Ive posited here for a while now that giving it access to a high burst medium to long range weapon would go a long way to addressing that by giving it a means of winning F2F rolls as it moves up the table....it now has that thanks to the red fury so I think its now deadly.
Oh and I dont think out Lts are very exposed anymore..not only is Joan excellent as always, but starting in a link or in the SF state, they are rocks.
Wow. I beg of you, Daboarder, please write a guide to MO for N4 once you get enough games in. We need a proper guide for MO because its pretty clear that MO needs to be thought of in a different way to make it work. And everyone is struggling to figure it out. The few that get MO to win consistently have not shared indepth how to make MO work. Leaving many to think its a dated and dead sectorial. If anyone is giving you shit for insisting MO works, please ignore them. There rest of us actually want to learn how to make it work consistently. As in, I struggle to know what units to recommend people to buy and how to set up MO for 150 point games, popular for new players to get their feet weight, I just have no idea how to make an MO list at 150 points. Also, question. What if the Santiago AD fails his landing? Do you still find him worth his points when he starts in your DZ? Or is the rest of the list strong enough to they can handle the AD gambit failing?
Did CB just send this guy in to get us to calm down? Because that list with the drop knight is hot garbage, you are all in on the Santiago doing work be cause if he does not good luck getting out of your deployment zone.
