I have Joan, Magister Knights and new support PanO pack.
Still want to play MO in future. May be even buy 300 pt. box.

Does it make sense? For me - yes, but I would be happy to hear, if people still believe in MO.
    What do you think?

Don't buy anything for 20 more days until N4 hits. Also, Magisters seem to be gone from MO so you might have 4 proxy models.

Well, the sculps are the most "persistant" thing there is in this (and this type of games) hobby :)

MO changed quite a lot since few years, we will see how it will be (again) reworked in N4 :P

CB did few good things in N3.5, we will see how N4.

Joan, BF, Hospitallers (so 300pts box) is rather safe bet. I would be really surprised if any of those models have problems with being played in N4 all most all models, but a Crusader are MO core (or used to be) units.

    Hello,

I think if I will have to start now with MO, I will go for the 300 box and forget about the magisters: Here can only 2 things happens:

    1. Magister will be lost in N4 (I seriously doubt this will the destiny of that box).
    2. Some kind of Repack it will come in N4, so Magisters will be there. I'am more of this kind of thinking.

About if MO will be playable in N4 sure, if it will be a badass faction... Probably not more or less than now. We don't have yet the whole picture of what comes in N4. Some changes are really small but others are pretty mucho big. So, the "game" can be change a lot. So, if you like MO, go for it.

    :)

A mixed box of 3 Magisters and 1 Knight of some kind could well be on the way.

    Thank you for your thoughts.
I was, actually, in some kind of frustration.
Which faction I want to play? What to buy? Am I like models in this faction?
(I actually thought even about White Banner army, but here I am.)

Well, let’s hope for better.)) I hope MO 300pt pack is not going to go away at least this year.

If some kind of MO box finally becomes more than a rumour, then it exists a good chance the actual goes out, but if CB continues with the actual policy they do some kind of notice at least a few weeks before. So, pay a little atention in the next months here and in your local store :)

worst case scenario magisters get absorbed into another knight order and theyll make perfectly fine proxies for any other HI knight

That would be a very strange move 'though.

Magister Knights are a rank, which exists in all the orders.

fluff aside i can see tuetons getting an LSG profile and fufilling a similar role for a similar points cost.

From where I stand HI Links weren't comfortable to use in N3.
Mostly due to abundant templates making constant positioning necessary to impossible.
A Posthuman MK2 AHD was more dangerous as a BSG that could B2 pieplate 3+ Link members reliably than as a Hacker. Even a BS11 Camo LSG was a massive threat if you were a bit out of position.
Shotguns being DTWs makes it more manageable, turns the FTF into a Normal Roll, reduces the Range by a ton and avoids secondary targets getting hit "around corners".

Every point in a Links movement path counts for the whole ARO as them being there, making it very easy to catch a full link in the same Circular or Teardrop template. Mainly a problem against unseen MLs, but there's also Mines, DTWs, Plasma Rifles, Flammenspeer... who can turn into Link death sentences.
One good Noctifier ARO and most of your 100+ points of Link is toast.
Whenever I'm playing against TAK or Ariadna with Links I'm painfully aware Tankhunter MLs exist (but no one seems to have any interest in running them over the second Spetznaz HMG in N3) and have to keep spacing in mind. Also messed up spacing against several MLs in plain sight over the years.

Links breaking if they declare different AROs and being unable to declare emergency Dodges on Active hopefully gets a revision.
Would make screw ups a lot more manageable. i.e. the Link Leader gets to pick his Skills as normal, while the other members can only Move or Dodge (probably without the N4 movement part).
If that doesn't happen it doesn't happen.
Unless aggressive Links see some changes, backfield ARO Links and a bunch of solo pieces will remain more secure and easier to perform well with.

If nothing else, the N4 dodge movement may help a little. You move the team, Noctifer reveals, everyone dodges. The dodges hopefully get most of them out of LoF of the Noctifer and out of template range of the HMG guy. Next order, the HMG guy can shoot the Noctifer without the rest of the team getting MLed.

In fact, even if they can't dodge out of Lof of the Noctifer, at least they can get away from the HMG guy. Then you can cancel the link and let the HMG fight the Noctifer on his own, then command token the link back together. Not great, but better than being stranded in the open and unable to do anything without eating a template.

I played a lot cores in an "agressive" way, with hassasin (not the same, of course) and too with MO, even with "acontecimento" (my regulars tends to end the game in half table). The problem with MO is the absence os smoke, this could be a problem if we expected "camo" with template weapons, but against the "TO" we still can do "cautious" movement, yes, probably it will be a waste of orders but we can avoid the "TO".

As others said before, now we will can "dodge" and move a little in active turn, things could change a little. Yes, of course being shot for a template isn't the ideal, but at least you can try to "scape". Right now the best you can wait is that the "target" die and the resto of the team survives to fight another day, because if not, all the team is doom or at least that guy, wich will be "targeted" free while we try to put down that "Dangerous template ARO".
