Use ABH in fireteams which makes sense because of the price but the draw back is you never know what you might get with them
I wouldn't call it a drawback, if you use them as cheap Fireteam filler. I mean, if they are (starting at 12pts) our cheapest way to fill a fireteam, any Booty they bring is just icing on the cake. If it turns out to be useful, great - I got it for free. If not, heck, didn't cost me a thing anyway. And DBS are short of cheap linkable Regular orders, so I think it would be difficult to justify using ABH elsewhere, given their AVA of 2...
Hopefully it's not shared ava with motorised bounty Hunters, because two cheap ABH and two cheap MBH is quite a nice prospect
I havent played since Covid started, but the new Morat Box made me do a double take for mini painting reasons. It'll take me some time to catch up to speed with everything, but I'd like to get this updated. I'm excited to see a lot of change for Druze
That Morat MI with the skull helmet looks so much like a Druze HI that I've thought about proxying it as one/
Well, a Digger did quite well for me in a game yesterday (as a link filler for Druze, & Booty dropping him a MSR...). I'm more looking toward the Ariadna Kosmoflot Patchers as Digger stand-ins (doubly so because I have both Diggers and Diablos slots to fill in Corregidor). Fits thematically for me - low-end power armors intended for industrial, rather than combat, application.
Druze certainly had a much needed revamp with this update. Teams are less restrictive and more flexible. Lack of wounds across the force still going to sting though so the fundamentals of the shotgun meta aren't going to change much
One of the biggest things for Druze post Fireteam change is that we have an easily accessible, flexible, and newly powerful Core Link. We're now shooting better than most cohesive cores, and at the same as a BS14 HI linked to some goons. With the other added toys I think we're looking to be in the best place we have been in a while.
With Aida FTO, Diggers, Brawlers, and Taowu counting as Druze, Aida becoming a Minelayer, and the addition of Yuan Yuan, DBS has become a much more interesting faction overnight. Cheap ABHs can still do good work filling up a Haris too. The Bulleteer & MBH Duo also looks fun, though still undecided on effectiveness.
Addition of Monstruckers give DBS a decent engineer, to repair bots. For me, 12 points profile os good. His drop bears can cover the deployment zone, and with Smg can put him in supressive fire. If we put him in a duo with ABH, can convert his irregular orden into regular one, for only 24 points/duo. Cheers.
Being in a Fireteam doesn't make a trooper Regular, unless theres a special rule like the one for Hungries or Monks.
I guess he means spending a Command Token to do this. Now, in some situations it may be advantageous, but in the long run - I sincerely doubt it.
Guys, how od you deal with enemy MBTs? I had a nasty run-in with the Marut in a yesterday's game against OSS. And, basically, I couldn't have dug it out from Cover. The thing kept passing those Armor saves (or winning FtF, due to BS 15 and MultiHMG)like nobody's business. Getting close and personal wasn't exactly an option (MSV L2, plus there was a castled-up Dakini Core and a TR HMG bot with good fields of view). I have managed to pretty much neutralize it by Isolating it with my hacker, but that was the best I could do, and even with only 2 Orders per turn it was making me problems... After the game, I checked the Army - seems Druze are pretty short on AP weaponary that could deal with a TAG. AP HMG / AP Spitfire are available on TAGs only. AP Rifle is only on one Bashi Bazouk variant. There are several Boarding Shotguns avaialble, but I'd consider goeing after a TAG with one of these a suicidal option. EM Grenades / Grenade Laucher on one loadout each, range is limited, Burst is low. And doesn't kill TAGs dead. The only Missile Launcher is on the Clipper Dronbot MultiRifles are on 2 characters only. OK, there's the the choice of MultiSniper rifles. Is that meant to be our intended weapon agaisnt TAGs...?
There are Multi Sniper Rifles on Armand and the Brawler plus AP CCW on the YuanYuan. Perhaps locking the TAG up in CC with a YuanYuan and do not invest further orders in that fight?
I think you have a few options which you mentioned: Scarface: Load outs Beta and Gamma are great with dealing with TAGs. Hacking: Druze have great hacking options due to the peacemaker and all their pitchers. Valerya even has extra burst with total control. Grab their TAG and make them kill it. If they won't, bring it out into the open and under some hacking area. E/M grenades: With the X-Visor, it might be worth spec firing it. Bricking it should be enough. Saito togan: a Damage 16 Explosive Combat weapon does work. Good luck!
In theory there are options, other users gave good suggestions, so I'll speek strictly from experience: Hacking or E/M grenades 1. Hacking is a good option, I always bring at least a pitcher and a forward deployed repeater (peacemaker or hunzakut). THis is not surefire cause many tags are not that easy to hack with Valerya. Total control is not always your best option, sometimes oblivion will do wonders 2. E/M grenade launcher is a close second because it's an autoinclude in most druze lists, it shoots at +0 up to 32. Spec firing E/M into a TAG will have surprisingly good effects into anything but an avatar, with the added benefit that you might catch extra stuff under the tamplate, cause you don't have to center it on the target, but clipping them is sufficient. Remember that E/M isolates AND immobilizes, which means safe MSR shots afterwards, if you so choose. 3. I am experimenting with the missile launcher, but this is inconclusive, that bot always dies early and the best use it had for me was just antiparachutist ARO EDIT - Regarding the tip of putting a APccw yuan yuan in cc, I only want to add that, statistically, AP is better than DA ONLY againist ARM 9 or more. Up to ARM 3 is strictly superior, from ARM 4 to ARM 8 is slightly superior-to-comparable. Always bring DA yuan yuan ;)
