:( So it turns out that I’m just -personally- incompatible with Army. It was loading just fine, just not showing it how I was expecting it to, so I didn’t see it.
I have the same version installed as @Papa Bey, yet I'm not seeing spec ops options. I may be looking in the wrong place. If I open, say, Pan O & look under the entry for fusiliers should I not see a spec op profile there? Am i perhaps barking up the wrong tree entirely? (If anyone has the time & patience & we are allowed to screenshot that may help immensely). Many thanks all.
Go to your list, not the unit selection, and hit the spec-ops button up top on the left. That will take you to the spec ops entry which is invisible until you do this.
Finally. Thank you @MrNailbrain. So it's only visible as an option in the same window you would use to view a force you had already constructed. That threw me as I was expecting to be able to see spec ops versions under unit entries.
Yeah it’s a little odd that the spec ops are hidden, but I guess it’s an optional extra so it kinda makes sense. Enjoy!
We're saying that it is in a rather odd place in the desktop version. Might have been easier to implement there, but why would you go to the place where your already-selected units are to select your Spec-Ops? Should have been implemented either as a separate unit icon in the standard place, or, now that they've changed how the SpecOps profiles are set, to be under the same spot as their parent unit. Under their parent unit would mean that you'd select the 'Keisotsu Infinity Spec-Ops' profile under Keisotsu, which would then pop up the standard Spec-Ops build interface.
Personally I would rather have it in a spot that is less likely to be accidentally used, like it is now. SpecOps aren't frequently used by most players so erring on the side of caution isn't terrible
Wasn't addressing design. Merely pointing out where it was. Has always been. Personally I think it should be a toggle a la mercenaries .
Now that we have N3 SpecOps rules, though, I am expecting SpecOps to become more common. At least for a little while. That might not be a bad place, either.
And if they aren't making sales, then you can bet your sweet ass that ITS rules will make them mandatory!
I think you're being a little cynical, Kan. SpecOps were very popular for a couple years after Paradiso dropped, and then kinda faded out. I know you were around for that! Besides, most of the Spec-Ops models are the old true-28 size like the pre-Uprising Japanese. When players only need one model (OK, I bought 3x Guifeng, but that was to have one for each base trooper in slightly different paint), you're not likely to sell enough of any one model to need to re-make the molds anytime quickly. If CB releases new Spec-Ops for all the factions and then they don't sell well, I'd be less surprised if CB modded the ITS rules. But not now, not with the old models.
I wouldn't mind a new PanO spec ops model. 3 head options, attachable tabards, drop bear minis, Marksmens rifle in one hand and the other pointing
For CA, the Treitak and Corax are both already available and I just bought them (granted, I was going to anyway to have some other options for proxying), but they do need a Nexus if they plan on adding all the extra bits and stuff. Does anyone have a list of the SpecOps models currently available and when they date from?
The "Core 9" all date from around the release of Campaign Paradiso, one for each Faction with CA getting an additional one, all had a modelled weapon held in their hands, a sprue of 3 loose weapons, and apart from the CA ones, a choice of two heads. The Intel also had an option of empty left hand or rifle. The Intel Spec-Op was first released as a Gen Con 2017 exclusive with gas mask and knife/pistol, the helmeted general release came later with options for BSG or Molotok. The Kaizoku with combi was the pre-order for the JSA box last year, followed by the Medic/Spitfire General release. Finally we have the new Hatail Spitfire from the Spiral Corps pre-order, and I wouldn't be shocked to see a general release follow in a few months.
Only this https://human-sphere.com/index.php?search=Spec-Ops&title=Special:Search&go=Go With the updates Spec Op rules we need Deva, Nexus, Brawler and Zuyong (ah wait, that was only a wishful thought;-) Morats could use a new one, because the old one is aged very quickly (it was before the resculpt of the Morats). Same would go for Shas but I think she is aged very well. Nomads could use a new one too - look at this tiny little combi rifle (aside from the weapon the mini is still nice).
One good soul cares about release-history: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sw32V6iaGqXJutpa4tvAFL6gy5oqQnTGoXzWDxgUdsU/edit#gid=1 But you have to search for the SpecOps....
He was unlucky and was released while CB tried to rescale the Nomads weapon (which failed). I think that only him and Riot Grrrls box was released with this tiny weapons, next Nomads was with new weapons.
