Maybe not a pogo... but a periscope (aim the cannon up)? Didn't 5th Element have some kind of battle station like that while trying to destroy the black planet? That idea led to one of those mini submarines. So mantis merged with underwater scooter.

Or just baby carrier. Yep, designer throwing the gauntlet, one stop above the Alien cosplay that includes a toddler, but this time also very elastic parent, walking with legs 90 deg apart is not for everyone.

I think I'll just use my original Raicho as a proxy for the new TAG. I honestly think its a better looking model, with or without the pogo periscope. And the big gun looks like it could easily be an Autocannon.

It gave me this impression too, like a turret on feet.

if you can fit the raicho in a smaller silhouette, go for it

I mean, the silhouette system kind of solves the problem completely, doesn't it?

More or less that is correct, it needs to stick to the smaller base though.

Good point. It would probably be a challenge.

Use some battle rubble to balance the feet that hang out of the base and I am sure it will be fine if it subtle enouph to not disrupt the base much.

That is correct, but the base extension creates problems.

that bultrak design is just weird. I really dislike the pilot on a pogo stick between the legs. Can the TAG even walk normally with such huge chunk between his legs? and also doesn't make any sense with how exposed the pilot is.

Don't get this hate. Looks different from others, thats good think. Kinda orkish to me.
We don't know if in future we will be have TAGs at all and how they will be work-look. Its scfi.
And that Aliens. So they should be wired differently then humans. In past, not all cultures have the same toys to hurt brothers. Like lack of shields and axes in feudal Japan. Or during wwII strange projects like british Grant. Or some german tank hunters with paper thin armour and open top.
So I'm not overfink practical use and logic behind scfi alien toys.

If you superimpose a pilot onto a regular, manned TAG, the “hip joints” are on the upper thigh, and the knee joints are in the lower leg. If the TAG moves it’s legs, it will break the operators legs.

Subsequently, the Bultrak has one of the most reasonable designs for manned TAGs (after Maggie)

My thinking behind some of the TAG's with such a design is that the pilots probably have cybernetic limbs that, some how, allow them to then fit in the designs. That or they are simply undersized for reality - a bit like how artists show the TAGs (see recent Bultrak artwork) as much larger than their respective model when compariing to the other living beings/models around.

Okay, I think we need to stop and reconsider what the old Raicho would like in proper scale, and that it’s one of those “this design works if we ampute the pilot’s legs” designs. (I assume new Raichu’s pilot is in the torso somehow. But it’s waist isn’t really thick enough for a pilot to be in there…)

I’ve got honestly no idea why the Bultrac pilot isn’t fully up in the torso, using the same scale/design fudging the Raicho’s using. I’m certainly going to leave the pilot off, just like I left the pilot bits off the old Raicho.

This assuming that the model is designed in a way which makes leaving the pilot off easy. For all we know it might be one piece with the torso -_-

I think they might just be struggling a bit with S6 manned TAGs from a design perspective. The Blue Wolf also had some weirdness with where the pilot arms were placed compared to the legs and it doesn't really look like it can walk unobstructed.

Wasn't it confirmed years ago that the TAGs are not actually in scale for gameplay purposes, and that they would be significantly larger otherwise in order to fit human (and Morat) pilots?

I dont hate the Bultrak, but that sounds much better than what we got...

I'm blown away by the Marut though. Absolutely love it.

Same. Marut is great! I think it'll inspire me to finally paint my tiny Aleph force.
