Hi, just wanted to show you my painted JSA Startbox. I had them standing in my shelve for several months because I had to finish some other project. But when I started them, It went so fast! You can see more pictures on my Homepage http://www.mosandl.de/mosis-miniaturenmalerei/infinity-japanese-secessionist-army I hope you like them. I am already on my next JSA Minis. Greetings Marnack
uuu i like the Jade Green :) you coul shade this deeper to get more 3D effect but hey this looks fine
Honestly, I just picked the colors I like the most theese days Thanks. I think the shades a re a little bit deeper in reality. But I will have a look at it on my new Miniatures.
Interesting color choice! Your pictures look a bit odd, skin tones in particular. Were you taking pictures under a black light or something?
Hm no, I photographed them in a Light Tent with white light. The skintones are all diefferent, because I painted them all different. What else seems odd to you? It is always hard to tell for me, if my pictures are good enough.
Just started my O-Yoroi and I am trying to level up the contrast. Bad mobile phone picture incoming ;-)
The green looks almost fluorescent. I'd been messing around with some fluorescent paints for glow effects and taking pictures under blacklights. The blacklight shifts the light color a bit towards the purple using a modern phone camera, which is why I asked. My botofukkit. The top of Celty's bike in particular looks almost glowing. If you're doing that without fluorescent paint, VERY well done indeed!
Hi, no, I dodn't use fluorescent colors, but I played with my camera settings a little more an got some newe pictures. I edited them in my first post, and I think they are now a little more how they actually look.
A bit? A bit?!?!? When i've tried it always looks like the mini is submerged into a bucket of purple ink, i gotta find the secret, i do recall Maru mentioned a trick to it but i forgot to write it down before i had some catastrophic browser failure
It wasn't that bad on some of my pictures, I was more surprised that a picture taken under blacklight alone looked like it was taken under full light. And @maru , could you please tell us the secret to not letting blacklights overpower our minis?
He ? Give me a sec reading topic to get idea what im asked of .. . .. ... a ok depending on camera :) the trick is to block AWB at correct white setting before doing a photo you don't whant to get photo of Ultra violet you whant a glow that you get from "fluo" pigments when they are prone to UV :) if you do it in darknes ans only light is black light you will get this a s a white so whole spectrum wil be tilted (you may fix it in post proces by changing gama slider tilt you get rid of a purple and get correct one - but it is quite hard ) best way is use RAW setting and do a White balance mesure on something white / grey - and block itthen get a photo in UV - should be good or easy to fix in graphic program or you may set everything in UV and in live view manipulate WB tilt your camera start considering a purple glow as a white :)
Thanks! Looks like I may need to get photo-editing software, unless I can find a setting in the camera to adjust white balance.
Finally I had the time to make some pictures of my recently painted JSA. I think, I now found the right camera setting to give you a realistic view of my miniatures. Ich hope you like it! Great stuff. The scheme looks awesome. I love the lean you gave to the ninja, very simple and effective way to make it look more dynamic. I'm stealing that idea! Did you have to pin it?
@Marnack The scheme still looks great on this new batch. Never thought a jade & purple combo would look this good.
