Totally disagree but that's why we're here.

Well we've successfully got to the point where this discussion has gone past useful so let's call it a day. Things I've taken away from this is that the MB is 6-2 and the TR is actually ARM0 :flushed: So even worse than I thought, 'OOoohh and Morray come's in with one last swipe to clinch the series'.

That's great bud. Here's a gold star; you avoided a shutout.

We've got warm milk and cookies for you just down the hall.

At any rate I think this thread has run its course. With the exception of the Sin Eater, all of the profiles the OP listed are quite usable. The only thing making some of them "suboptimal" is the addition of new, more optimal choices like the Evader or the Vostok.

But the best way to figure out WHY something is considered suboptimal is to simply try it yourself. Take it out, try it out, and take good, hard looks at its performance. Keep track of times when it wins when another model would've lost, and vice-versa. Take the numbers, plug them into calculators (ghostlords is good for this), see the percentages. Decide for yourself whether those percentages outweigh other factors like cost or special skills. What can this model do? How good is it at doing it? What other models could do that job instead? What synergies does it have? How easily can you slot it into lists? What problems does it solve for you? What problems does it pose for your opponent? How would YOU go about fighting it?

It's why the Evader is so bloody common. On the surface, a BS 13 AP Spitfire is not all that impressive. Good, certainly, but it's not anything you'd auto-take in every list. But throw on its durability, the Firewall Tinbot, the fact that it's an Engineer, its enhanced mobility, and its absurdly low price point and it quickly becomes obvious why it edges out its competitors so often.

So take stuff. Try it out. See what works and what doesn't. But BE HONEST with yourself. Make sure its performance isn't just lady luck smiling on you. Mentally check what would the outcome have been if you had taken something else instead. See how it would've changed your game plan. See what doors would be open that are now shut, and vice versa. Did your opponent make a mistake? What would you have done? How would the odds have changed? What would you have to take out to include something better? What else could you add by including something cheaper?

But above all; be honest with yourself. Don't let a few lucky crits trick you into thinking that the Ninja Sniper is better than a Lynx. Confirmation bias is a hell of a bitch.
