I need to get my SP out more often, completely forgot about Hector. And yes, Kerr-Nau has the potential to be even more killy.

In general, Kurgats are one of those Morat units that could use a rework.

The fact that Kurgats are a BS 11 ARM 1 troop with no defensive skills and no fireteam bonuses beyond +1 B really limits how much damage they could cause.

It's the same reason that a Tankhunter with Autocannon is so much scarier than a Kurgat with the exact same weapon.

And I'm sure that there are a lot of Yu Jing players out there hoping for Haris Yan Huo (preferably with something a bit cheaper than two other Yan Huo). It's just that HRMC and Autocannon seems like two of those weapons that CB has selected to be permanently barred from 3+ links. Probably because they want to limit the amount of burst and wounds, respectively. Also, I don't think they'd want to allow a Burst 3 ML ARO.
It's probably more likely they would expand on the load-outs and abilities of the support regiment than to allow them to link.

Having an additional heavy weapon that is linkable would be nice. But it would still mean that I never seriously consider playing the autocannon, which is a shame.

Now that I've seen the new Kurgat model, I'm really confused by what the pose is supposed to represent. It reminds me of the old Trauma-Doc model, except that one at least had a context in which it made sense.

I think he's blocking an attack, but I agree that it's a poor choice.

The more I look at Kurgats the more I scratch my head. Why is their Haris option more expensive in SWC than almost any other faction's haris options, when nearly all the MAF has going for it are better Haris options than the Kurgats? Then there is the pointless autocannon restriction I identified earlier. It's almost like the Haris option is priced like the autocannon could join, and then this rule for wimps and oafs that prevents the autocannon from joining was added. I get that shit specialists is the MAF's thing, but this is Bipandra level.

I’m pretty sure it’s to make up for the fact that you’re not paying SWC on those beautiful Mk12s.

Karakuri Haris is 0.5 SWC. It is a trillion times better value than the Kurgat Haris, still gets a B4 Mk 12, and does not compete with superior Haris options in the same list.
