Rules question: Does Overclock reveal a Lu Duan in Holo1/2? What about Assisted Fire/Enhanced Reaction?
As far as I know, Overclock doesn't reveal anything. You declare Overclock with your Pangguling, put the Overclock marker next to it, and you're good to go. Your Lu Duan disguised as one or more Aragoto is not revealed because "receiving supportware" isn't a cancellation condition, and I'm fairly sure it's "Burst 2 in ARO" status is hidden by Private Information. Assisted Fire/Enhanced Reaction is a bit more troublesome. You declare either program with your Hacker and you put a Supportware marker on them, but you must also put an Enhanced Reaction or Assisted Fire token next to the targeted REM. This isn't in the cancellation clause either, so you don't lose your Holoprojector/Holoecho state, but I'm fairly sure you are obligated to put it next to the "real" model, and that will kinda spoil the shell game. However, you still benefit from Surprise Shot whether or not your opponent knows which one is the real Lu Duan, so it's not a big loss.
That's what I thought. So my tactic of putting down an 8pt Baggage bot that busts out a Burst 2 flamer looks legit, as long as I use Overclock :)
The problem is, besides obfuscating which Pangolin is a Lu Duan, what are you going to hide with the 13 point deficit? It's a deficit the wrong way, as well, so allowing for some imprecision with your opponent's list deconstruction the best you can hope for with two Lu Duan hiding as Pangolins is that your opponent thinks you have a Garuda HMG in AD as ISS. All markers that the Holoprojecting troop gets, the echoes also get. So you put three markers down, one next to each echo.
You just need to go deeper. You put Assisted Fire on an actual Pangguling, so your opponent thinks it's actually a Lu Duan, then he avoids it and goes near your other Pangguling, which is actually a Lu Duan.
