I assume this is self-explaining. Just feel free to share the joy, happiness, frustration, grief you experienced during your tournament games with us! I'll start: Today a non-ITS tournament was hosted by a gaming club of aspiring players new to our Infinity community and since I knew some of them from previous casual games / Tigerlands I had to go there. Together with one of my club's new bloods (who plays JSA) Following missions were played: Highly Classified (Experimental Drug, Test Run, HVT: Inoculation, HVT Kidnapping // Extreme Pejudice) (List A) Aquisition (List B) Capture and Protect (List B) Spoiler: List A Highly Classified Grrls ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 8 2 1 AVICENNA Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 18) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army on the other hand is the x-th version of my first Riot Grrl list for StarCo. This time with a FO Alguacil since I don't see much reason in an Alguacil Hacker. The Al Hawwa just works better. With the quite big second CG I can build up some nice crossfire situations. In the first game I had to face the Shasvastii with a ten Order list comprising the Sphinx and a Speculo. My opponent had Extreme Prejudice as well. Spoiler: Shasvastii list Shasvastii Expeditionary Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 ASWANG Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) Bit Hacker (UPGRADE: Expel) Submachine Gun + Pitcher, Deployable Repeater + KISS! / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) KISS! Adhesive Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 34) SPHINX Spitfire, 2 Heavy Flamethrowers / EXP CCW. (2 | 106) SCINDRON Flash Pulse / Knife. (0 | 0) 5 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army Since my opponent chose to go first and Shasvastii being just a synonyme of Speculo I kept my Hardcase in reserve anticipating a not too offensive speculo deployment. The Speculo was placed in contact with a wall and I locked it down with the Hardcase's two camo markers. The whole game was quite one sided, my tactic to choke the Sphinx in AROs worked quite well with the result of a Isolated and Immobilised TAG thanks to the Riot Grrls Blitzen. A way bigger hindrance was one of the Shrouded who was able to withstand the Brawler's HRL for two rounds just to get killed by the Hardcase after the Speculo's failed attempt to attack the Trailblazers (HRL Brawler + Haris Brawler + CSU). Speaking of the Hardcase: he also killed the Aswang Lt. In my thrid turn (after a failed attempt to land my Hellcat Assault Hacker on the right spot) I was finally able to move the Riot Grrls with Avicenna to the opponents HVT. The game ended with me winning the game 7:2 due to fulfilling HVT: Inoculation and my secret classified objective. My second game was against Tohaa, again ten orders. Spoiler: Tohaa list Tohaa ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 1 CLIPSOS (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) ECTROS Viral Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 43) HATAIL AELIS KEESAN K1 Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Flash Pulse, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 29) KAELTAR (Chain of Command) Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse + 2 SymbioMates / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 26) GAO-RAEL Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. (1 | 31) GAO-RAEL Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. (1 | 31) KAELTAR (Chain of Command) Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse + 2 SymbioMates / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 26) NEEMA Lieutenant (Advanced Command) Spitfire, Nanopulser / Viral Pistol, Shock CCW. (1.5 | 48) KUMOTAIL Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) MAKAUL Heavy Flamethrower, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, Viral CCW. (0 | 13) 4.5 SWC | 294 Points Open in Infinity Army This time my opponent was a new blood to the tournament scene. He won the Lt. roll and he chose to go second. Surprising since I could choose where he had to deploy first giving me a double advantage. Due to his lack of experience he made some mistakes e.g. cramming his Fireteams together, putting his Gao-Rael Snipers prone behind cover. After explaining him his mistakes I was able to Spotlight the Makaul and further to shoot guided missiles on Neema's triad. Which only Neema survived. In his turn my Trilblazers and the Vertigo were killed by the Ectros. Fortunately for me my opponent positioned this triad template friendly as well an the Hardcase's light shotgun put an end to Aeli's and the Kaeltar's career. the Riot Giils advanced towards the table center whilst strafing the Gao-Raels. During the last round the Ectros failed to kill the hardcase in CC but on the other hand the Irmandinho suffered to the Ectros' Shock CCW despite the Hardcase's CC support. At the end I could get a 10:0 win. For the final game I had to face the Military Orders this time no ten order list. But still a lost Lt. roll... and again my opponend chose to force me to have the first turn. Spoiler: Military Orders list Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 BLACK FRIAR (Albedo, Biometric Visor L1) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 28) BULLETEER Spitfire / Electric Pulse. (1 | 23) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Lieutenant Spitfire, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 44) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 41) ORDER SERGEANT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 21) ORDER SERGEANT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 15) ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration, Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) GROUP 2 3 FUSILIER Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18) MACHINIST (Father-Engineer) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration, Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army this time the hardcase was only accountable for a proper Fusilier Hacker kill. the Irmandinho was again unable to deal damage in CC (this time to a TOFOOS) and got knived to death. The Trailblazers were able to kill the Spitfire Santiago (CSU did most of the work) the other Santiago, the opponent's Datatracker, was killed by the trusty BSG Riot Grrl who was my Datatracker. And the Al Hawwa dealt the final winning shot with an announced crit on a 2 preventing the second TOFOOS from stealing my beacon Since I was stupid enough to let the Grrls face the opposite direction. Thanks to that I won the game with 9:1 instead of 6:4 thus I won the tournament with 9 TP and 26 MP. At the end I see the Hardcase as one of the most valuable troops during this tournament since he always was able to clear the Riot Grrl's perimeter from hazards like hackers or just kill troops in his way. Which totally contradicts my initial more negative opinion of him due to the lack of a specialist loadout. @ZlaKhon in roughly a week from now I want to see your report
Everyone gets caught up on the concept of Ambush Camo like he's a netrod underneath. He would seem cheap and awesome even with Limited Camo + Mimetism.
I just assembled and primed this guy today and I can't wait to try him out. Anyone ever go for the infiltration roll? It would be a shame to lose the ambush camo and start in your DZ if you fail, but parking that guy near the enemy DZ to really take advantage of that LSG seems pretty strong.
I just did that on an exclusion zone so I could overlook some WB and get free shots on their impetuous orders. At 12/14 points for a 50/50 shot totally worth it if the situation is asking for it. I only killed 1 Morlock Assault Pistol and took 2 regular orders to kill but that was way beyond worth it.
Quick report from yesterdays tournament: Game 1: Highly Classified vs Nomads Won 9:2 due to my opponent making a bit more errors than me, but was definitely a tight game at first. Game 2: Safe Zone vs Aleph Won 8:0 after tabeling my opponents Achilles list. Main point was good deployment and exploiting some tactical mistakes of the opponent. Game 3: Rescue vs Tohaa Here the wheels really came off and I lost 1:8 and my opponent won the tournament. I could rant about Tohaa quite a bit here as well as dice rolls (we were counting crits in this tournament and my opponent ended up being crowned the crit king), but I also think that my concept of how to play Rescue with StarCo is flawed. Maybe i‘ll open up a full thread to discuss that issue.. Final result was 3/12
Edit: somehow I cant copy and paste the army lists on my phone.. will add when I have access to a laptop
