Sekban used to have one of the more bad-ass background briefs. "Surrender now and you will be treated by the rules of the Concilium Convention. Otherwise, you will die. Behind us, there are our people. Our mission is to protect them. That means you will never get through. At this point, you get to decide your fate." Bayar Korel, Amir (officer) of the Sekban unit. Defense of the Marzuqah Caravansary. Peak of the NeoColonial Wars.
You'd think these guys would appear in Dahshat considering that it's ran by a wealthy silk tycoon. Although, Dahshat would be one MSV2 too many with the Brawlers MSR and the Rui Shi already available.
@Errhile I also hope that jannizzeries take haris options or maybe get wildcard(made a Jann core having only 1 Jann is more or less the same thing). About nomad units I hope them will be functional, linkable and a little More thematics. Something like you can have nomad units if you took alguacile lt but probably it will be too difficult to balance. Actually there are no reasons to took any nomad unit, and please rework iguana(3structure and remove repeater), otherwise remove them. I hope alhawwa hacker or fo take smr or rifle/lsg lodout Linkable azrail will be an huge boost for him, could be our tarik/shaeskiin? I also hope in a new qk charachter, an engineer
I don't mind Iguana having 2str and a repeater. Giving it 3str would make it into 5str model when you also consider its HI operator. I would instead suggest updating Iggy's armament. It poses itself as an anti-HI, anti-TAG unit with it's repeater being the most prominent piece of equipment, and the operator also carries the HMG to deliver as big a punch as possible before dying. So maybe upgrade the HMG into AP HMG, and/or replace HFT with an E/Marat just to make it scary enough against HI/REM-intensive factions.
I don't know, having a tag with 2 str make him very weak against ap or even da ammunition and pilot is either good and bad Repeater can be good but more easily allow some khd to kill your hacker(and leila isn't in marker state if is ft) so icreally don't like it
Having thought about it for a little while, if I had my druthers to minimally modify QK, I think the following wouldn't ruffle too many feathers: > Djanbazan with Frenzy and PH 12. Represents how they sometimes go overboard, and have you seen the arms on the HMG dude? Now that we have multiple MSV2 units in the generic army, this makes them even more distinct. > Sekban boarding specialist that trades Zero-G for AD2, or adding AD2 for a couple points, only available in Qapu Khalqi (similar to, say, Varuna Division ORCs getting Stealth and terrain rules). Based on Bashi Bazouks, Zero-G and AD1 are valued the same. Plus, unless you have to say whether AD is coming in with an Irregular or Regular order, a Bashi Bazouk could show up Holo 1 as a Sekban as a fun tactic > Azra'il Haris. The Shaytinayah Duo makes no sense to me (or anyone else I've noticed for that matter). So having Haris would allow you to have 3 Azra'ils (unlikely to be fielded given their cost and function), or with Hafzas, Odalisques, or Leila, which seems cool.
It's the same as cheating. Legally supported by deficient rules but still unfair. If an unit gets an important discount conditioned by a disadvantage it's obvious the unit must suffer the negative effects. There can't be rules that allow to ignore the malus. Many people have expressed their hopes this problem is correctly solved in N4, either by dropping the generous discount or adapting fireteam rules to be affected by frenzy.
I think it could work to allow models in a Fireteam to go Frenzy individually, and to spend the Irregular Order on a Frenzied model without dropping out of a Fireteam. Of course, this would force us to track that state individually for each potentially Frenzy model in a fireteam. Certainly it wouldn't be easier if mixed fireteams (at least ones including Frenzy-capable models) weren't a thing. However, they are... We already do have linkable models with Frenzy, even in Haqqislam (Asawira), and the problem already does exist there.
I've played every stage of N3 and I still don't feel confident to wish frenzy on a linked troop. I'd like to see it activate and disable the ability to take cover, while not generating an impetuous order. Phalanx link teams suppress it entirely.
How about instead of each model with Frenzy in a fireteam activating it together, instead of tracking states separately? Let's say that even contributing to a kill through teamwork is enough for it to kick in. And then all Impetous troopers in the fireteam generating a single Impetous order for them to use as a team.
Well, we're playing a game of what if, aren't we? Remeber, @Stiopa - we don't need a Fireteam made entirely of Frenzy troops, we're long into a mixed fireteam territory already. Either way, we are up to a can of worms here... Personally, I'm more curious of what does CB have in stock for us here, than trying to make up a possible solution...
On a side note, I wouldn't call it a problem there specifically. Even with a discount most Asawiras are stupidly expensive, and at the same time fight like Ghulams when impetuousness kicks in. If anything, Frenzy illustrates just how much of a can of worms pricing and fireteams in general already are.
I didn't realize the frenzy/fireteam thing was super contentious as to be considered cheating, given its presence in many sectorials. Frenzied dudes in fireteams still can't take partial cover, right?
Well, as long as they are in a fireteam, the Frenzy doesn't kick in. So they can take cover as normal.
Using the existing ones isn't cheating, but using that to fan-design a fireteam is. As was said being in a fireteam cancels all effects of any impetuous level. Frenzy is especially suppressed as it doesn't even go off from kills unless that kill was made after the link was broken. So if you break the fireteam they will keep cover until their turn following them making another kill.
