i mean, proxying is very much an option, one readily supported by the game designer. But the games played are only a part of the hobby, and proxying only fixes part of the problem then. If the molds are gone or beyond repair I get it, its probably not worth the effort to get them back in production, but if its just a matter of getting them off the shelf and doing a run of models for the community, what harm is there?

No harm, certainly, but the economics may not be good - a small print on demand run direct to customers is one thing, but if CB wants all their packs on FLGS shelves, the scale would be much larger, and would place the FLGS in an awkward spot - if the demand is, say, one pack per 10 retailers, then no retailer will want it languishing on the shelf.

yeah, thats why i was thinking a direct to consumer model makes a bit more sense. These models were discontinued for a reason (likely low sales). They've continually made efforts to lower the amount of SKU's for retailers so it makes little sense for these to just go back to full availability. For the companies sake, just do it made to order, gives a month or so notice, take orders for a few weeks, produce whats desired by community, and then put the molds back on the shelf.

CB is adamant on supporting retailers and game shops, making products direct to order bypasses both.

Why? The retailers aren't able to sell OOP minis right now either, because, you know, they're OOP. Also, if that's the problem, simply allow customers to make direct orders through their retailer only, win-win.

Yeah, the only way you can get some key pieces for many factions is to get either scalped by scalpers or scammed by recasters.
That's not great for anyone who isn't a scalper or recaster

I realized, that CB made a very strange discontinuation decisions.
I missed that, but why Tuareg hacker was removed?! He is from an army who is suppose to be supported... Who else were a surprise for you?

    Strange things...

Ok... I didn’t know about half of this! Why?!
They are useful. Some of them for sure!

    No logic here.

I suspect the practical reason is production capacity.

    It's still production capacity.

We have no idea of any of the factors involved are, but we certainly are eager to jump to conclusions.

It's not production capacity, which CB have in spades, it's catalogue size/retailer shelf space.

I think that's why we've seen the shift to expansion/Fireteam packs so heavily over homogenous boxes. Partly you just don't need 4-6 of the same trooper most of the time any more due to the new Fireteam rules, plus things like the upcoming JSA box that consolidates 3 boosters and brings back a popular OOP mini into a single SKU.

Edit: Moving from 6 miniature starter boxes to 9 miniatute Action Packs for N4 factions is another consolidation, with one SKU taking the place of 2-4.

Daofei is still available in the action pack. He was part of the beyond box for Kaldström. Guilang Sniper will not be missed heavily - but its a nice mini anyway. The blisters with Kamau and Wu Ming are essential minis in the sectorials, maybe they come back in some unexpected repack.

Oh and its three out of five Morlocks - only Harley made it into the repack, the other one is from the old starterpack.

Fusilier SWC are still available - only the three combi ones are gone, because they were part of the oop Ice Storm.

Now - that line-core team make sense again, they could make winter-versions of Fusilers and Zhanshis :-D

Agree 100%. I don't mind proxying, but I think WinterFor fusiliers don't mix well, aesthetically, with the regular fusiliers pack.

Especially if you thought to gather Varuna for example. It fits only one army in design.

I think a Code One string of releases for Tohaa is going in the near future. Maybe 2024 or 2025 will be the actual year of the Tohaa?

May be, but if it would be siocast and that resin - I would skip it even if it is Tohaa.
I see it as a possible future.

Sorry, I meant the HMG Daofei from Beyond Red Veil.

    The Morlocks — you're right, it's three.

As for Fusiliers — yes, the SWC box is still there, but they don't fit the SWF style Fusis, and the SWF style Fusis don't fit well into Acon, Varuna, or NCA. So it's a weird mismatch.

    HMG Daofei isn't in N4.
For some reason with edition change they removed all HMGs from Infiltrators, and all MSRs from Jumpers. A shame, Daofei HMG was and amazing sculpt, and a very new.
