I'd even go as far to give it a Hac tao level points/stats. That way the missing unit could be a Hac Tao or a super Liu Xing, keeping the enemy fearful.

I agree with a lot of the IA issues but people underselling the daoying so Hard is a bit much. I don't know if theres a profile ive used more except for the guilang FO.

I was certainly thinking 55-65pts. I know that is a lot for what may be a 'disposable' unit, or at least a unit that is dropping into the middle of the enemy army.

And yes, I'd also expect that most of the time, people would take Tigers, especially if you could take 2 Tigers for the cost of one LX.

I understood that as a sarcastic joke. I would go so far that Daoyings are the best units in IA and very good in vanilla. Ironically the best unit in the HI sectorial isn't HI.

To fix Krit, everything was written before the profile was in army and it is now too late and I don't want to waste time on that anymore.

Now, this might not be the best approach, but between getting more options or more units, I think we all know that the likelihood of them buffing the Shang Ji or the Guijia is a LOT more likely than either of the other options.

I am not going to advocate for some serious re-works of pre-existing units: fact of the matter is those will not happen anytime soon. Heck, they'll probably find an excuse to make JSA a Yu Jing sectorial again before we could even consider that to be a possibility.

Best I could hope for at this point is maybe all Guijia profiles getting Tac Awareness and/or a Shotgun. Whilst for the Shang Ji best hope would be maybe some more interesting guns, like a Heavy Flamethrower, Zapper or E/Marat, maybe a launcher or a few of sorts? God forbid maybe some grenades?

Really, half the reason IA is half-baked is, ironically enough, baked into the very notion of an HI sectorials existance: the very nature of such a thing is contradicts itself. Several units abhor the concept of sharing a list together, multiple units fight for the same slots whilst leaving several others unfilled, etc. etc. Same case can be seen in MO as far as I can recall, the other HI sectorial in town.

So, by nature, it's not really something that can even be fixed. ( Makes the inclusion of Krit, an engineer, someone who fixes stuff all the more ironic. )

I actually want a poll on this guy. I can't tell where people really stand on him. I'm for #3
    1. I’m buying Krit because he’s a great profile
    2. I’m buying Krit because he’s a great profile and figure
    3. I’m buying Krit because he’s a great figure but I don’t care about the profile and will use him as a proxy for something else.
    4. I’m not going to buy Krit at all

Can we add "5. I'm buying Krit because he's a great figure but I'm not sold on the profile yet"?

Because that's my vote right now.

You say reworking existing units is unlikely but look at the gwailo for example.

Sure, but that is as a reworking of the entire sectorial.

IA was just released, Guijia and Shang Ji should have been reworked as part of that process!

We can also point at MO, where almost all the units got a rework, but the Teutons didn't, and the Teutons were one of the units most in need of a rework.

Based on how long it took to rework MO, we are looking at 6+ years before IA units get a rework!

Going along this train of thought - it would also mean that IA wouldn't necessarily need to invest in a doctor infrastructure since the mileage of doctoring a NWI is relatively marginal compared to unconscious. It could free up more points for an REM-based attack, etc.

But Zhanshi exist. I’ve had a lot of fun in 15-16 order lists running Zhanshi core with Haidao and then pieces like Hac Tao, remotes etc.

I’ve discarded Krit as I like to run a pain train and I think Tai Sheng is a better deal with her NCO.

But the other day I was considering running a 3-man core and a haris of zuyong and in that scenario, Tai Sheng isn’t AS useful because she would “only” fuel a not-full link.

In that case, I see Krit as maybe having a place as the solo profile to protect against alpha strikes and support the “two haris” together with a doctor and two Yáozăo.

After re-reading Daboarder's excellent thread about mass armor operations, I also considered running a list where every piece is a solo piece. Or at least where the link is formed at the start to move out or provide good AROs if I get second turn, and then break it up as I reach the midfield.

Order Sergeants also exist, so the MO/IA/"HI sectorial" parralel still stands.

Though I do concede that the self-loathing nature of these sectorials does lead to the kinda cool aspect of the multi-group lists and single-group lists sometimes not even feeling like they're from the same sectorial.

    Haha I got bombarded.
OS and Zhanshi falls into different categories. Zhanshi link composition, and(lol) costs are better than OS - even their options aside from TOFOOS are significantly better than MO light infantries.

Simple is that, IA can include hacker in their chaff link.

I wasn't comparing the Order Sergeants with the Zhanshi directly:
The comparison I was making was in how in both sectorials, due to to fulfilling the roles of the ''cheap'' Cores ( Subjectively cheap, because Zhanshi need to tack on a Wildcard ( Which 2/3 times cost at least as much as two zhanshis. ) and the OS because of the OS cost. ) they ''parallel'' each-other.
And both display the weird nature of both sectorials: there's little overlap between Zhanshi core lists and Zuyong/Shang-Ji core lists, making both varieties of list look staggeringly different. Same case when it comes to OS core lists VS Teuton/Hospitaller core lists.
Though this can be perceived as a strength, since it allows you to bring two vastly differing lists to a tourney, as if you brought two factions ( Albeit at the cost of overall variety when it comes to said lists. ).

Sorta became my default approach when deciding to bugger off onto Army for a few minutes and decide that that days boredom reliever shall be cobbling an MO or an IA list together.
Get a list with Zhanshi/OS core, and get a list with Zuyong/Shang-Ji/Hospitaller/Teuton core.

Had not considered that, but it's a good point.

I mostly haven't been including doctors in my IA lists, anyway.
