I am trying to dig me out of my comfort zone. And I found Kiiutan combi rifle.(which I used only once) Usually, SC will pick Jaan Staar or Kiiutan E/M mines over combi rifle. But because of short range band, I was kinda stuck at some spot or use another order to recamo to passing through. Here is my thinking for this profile. Pros : - +3 range up to 16'' range. More favorable choices for gunfighting & maneuver. Less template threat in active turn. - 0.5 SWC cheaper! For SWC squeezing army like SC, this is a good thing! Cons : - Basically impossible to cripple hard target. (No AP, No E/M) - Unlike E/M mines profile, only efficient at killing. - No template weapons (Light shotgun, E/M mines) So this profile is all for killing soft order batteries. Jaan Staar can do it too but maybe 8'' - 16'' range can be a thing. Can you guys share your experience for this profile?
I would still vote for jaan. Because he is so close to opponent and viral pistols and shotgun is so efficient in close range. I took him once with combi. he was fantastic :P and killed 6 minis. especially if there are seperate buildings around. he kills nicely the units in other buildings from his building .
Good points, but the cr kiuutan has some stiffffff competition from the greif! That thing is 8pts cheaper, packs msv and d-charges for classifieds, has b2 in active cc and breaker for ariadna. And that nice infiltrating cr, of course.
I have used it in I think it is better used in combination with another Kiiutan or along with Jaan Starr, but I think its overall usefulness will be pretty situational dependent on what the opponent brings.
