From the new video: Lot of Submachine guns... cheap profiles (maybe hacker profiles?) or secondary weapon? Lot of D-Charges Griffin + GizmoKit... so Engineer profile? (deleted in profile... Sectorial Exclusive???) Banshee + Wildparrot profile Scarecrow + Multi Marksman Rifle (deleted in profile... Sectorial Exclusive???) Black A.I.R + K1 Marksman Rifle Black A.I.R. + Air dropped option Spoiler: Concepts
Kestrel Profiles, some changes in weapon options compared to the concept designs. Availability and profile options should be Vanilla... 1 for Black A.I.R does not match his link options. Spoiler: Profiles
I like them. While they kept the usual PanO flavour of not overburdening units with too much stuff what they did include is lean and mean. Fennecs are clearly Regulars' spiritual successors, secondary weapons finally discovered, SMGs galore. Hell is that one Blair profile, overall it's good stuff and I can't wait to see the rest of new units...
I might be crazy but to me it seems SMG went up in price as well as losing AP. All those SMG profiles seem pricy to me compared to N4. Which I don't mind as they cheated entire N4 with SMG profiles, but both losing AP and price increase seems strange. Maybe I'm tripping because shotgun is cheaper so my brain has troubles comparing costs.
The big thing is "Disco Ball" the same as N4 "Mirror Ball." If so, PanO gets Eclipse smoke!!!! Also, congratulations CB on making Scarecrows distinct from Crocman. They have separate uses as a X-visor combi works differently than the CQB loadouts that Scarecrows have.
Croc Men when you want to fcuk them up from a distance, Scarecrow when you want to fcuk them up from up close. Sans that suspected MMR profile which I assume will be sectorial only
The only real miss here for me is the Banshee still not having a non-Hacker Specialist option (really handy for tournament lists where you need an AD troop to flex between scoring and attacking) or Combi Rifle, though frankly it seems like I'm the only person who thinks Combis are good on AD troops anyway. Solid stuff.
True, but a 23 point droppable KHD that hack or blow to pieces most other one wound hackers is a nice pickup. It also can do so many classifieds. EDIT: Jeez, the Black A.I.R. can also make a mess of back line for 31 points. Especially since direct templates will be rarer.
The price is certainly nice, but could be nicer- both of them are blowing a lot of points on MSV for an attack piece with only a secondary weapon. Smoke rules and the precise balancing of Hacking could make or break them as staple pieces, though they'll definitely be at least usable. For the Banshee at least, I can see it being worthwhile to take 2 of the cheap LSG profile and throw it into the enemy backline- it's almost impossible not to find an angle for a B2 Pulzar to make back 19 points; that's just two Fusiliers and it still costs the enemy more Orders than it costs you.
The Fennec Thunderbolt option is also pretty nice. With the Fireteam changes, I could see foregoing a Level 5 entirely and just running a couple of Level 2 Haris. Black A.I.R. MSR, Fennec Disco Baller, and one more Fennec and Bob’s your uncle.
I am surprised there is not more celebration about Disco Ball? Is it because it final rules have not been confirmed?
The equivalent Regular troop has a Deployable Repeater... so if I had to bet I'd say it's something similar. The profile point cost doesn't suggest anything too shocking.
They already said Speedball will be summoned through the use of command tokens, so I'd cautiously disagree. My money is on some kind of deployable/disposable white noise or Eclipse.
Beyond Sandtrap: Blink + Firefly + Hetkari Pathfinder MOV 6-6 For Drummers availability (4) seems there is no controller and they will be synchronized.
