Mmm. You haven't read my post I think xD. For example, with 5 volunteer, 1 grey highlander, 2 higlander william wallace and few others, you can play CHA, but you can't play ariadna without buy many models :).
Yes, I read, and is not the same case. A bit related, but not the same. The same you say could be applied to me if I only had a list of 5 hollowmen and 2 kriza in TJC and had to play with vainilla nomads... but that is a problem of having not much from my faction, and owning only a limited list. What could do a dude with JSA if JSA is not released? even ownling all the miniatures for JSA, if NA2 is not released, he cannot play because there is no place for it.
This should be obvious but I will write it down anyway: CB wants you to buy more stuff on a regular basis and I'd argue that the release of a new edition is a reasonable point in time to expect new purchases from your customers. Will some factions have to wait a little longer? Probably. Is this the end of the world? Probably not. Is it unfair? Probably to some people. Just wait and see how it develops. Maybe you fall in love with Kaldström and decide to get the box. Maybe you take this occasion to expand into Vanilla Ariadna. You shouldn't expect to be able to sit on the same 15 models forever and even if you do, you can still proxy in the meantime.
I just read the dreaded phrase "mix of new and old unit" in the box. Meaning, if I want to buy the new mini, I will need to rebuy some I already own ? If that's true, that's the kind of shit that could make me stop buying any CB mini all together. I seriously hope we will have more detail and this will be debunked as an honest mistake
Gotta say, this has me concerned as well. Not looking forward to selling duplicates regularly from now on.
Judging from the recent news that has put 3 Zanshi in the Kaldstrom box... I'm not exactly of great hope here.
I just want to remind that C1 is an independent line of products. So new miniatures playable on N3/N4 could be perfectly sold on its own blisters but on C1 it's on the same box that older miniatures.
I think in the most recent Mayacast episode they said that during a recent european event there was a presentation and it was mentioned that all miniatures in Code One are going to be brand new sculpt. I'll see if I can find when they said that and give a time stamp.
The episode is number 226, timestamp for the information is 15:15 minutes in and it's from the European Infinity Championship and they begin talking about new sculpts at 17:50.
So you are blaming CB for trying to sell more miniatures to people just owning 10+ models? Come on, that is called capitalism and that's what gives CB the money to create new rules, new sculpts and such for all of us. Btw I never encountered an infinity player that just has the absolut minimum count of models needed. Everyone of us has this collector's gene that urges us to buy new models as soon we can get our hands on them
really enjoying the tears and catastrophising this morning, especially since: 1. lol if you didn't expect some kind of delay/issue come on how many times are you gonna fall for this 2. We're still doing the whole fill in the blanks with some bizarre theory and twist yourself into knots to convince yourself it's true, ie "Kaldstrom is all repacks!" This community learns zero lessons.
I beg to differ. Most if not all models of the sectorials you've listed are just as well available for their respective vanilla armies. Actually all the models from your USAriadna and Caledonian Highlander Army collection can be fielded in a vanilla Ariadna list, because they are either Ariadna, or Mercenaries available to any vanilla faction (under current rules, that is). Same with OSS/Aleph and Shasvasti/Combined Army. I was in this situation back at the dawn of N3: I had a sizeable collection of Haqqislam (playing both QK and HB), so I was able to field a vanilla Haqq army without much trouble - but my Corregidor was my sole Nomad collection back in the day (well... still is, mostly), and fielding them as a vanilla Nomad army was a bit problematic. I did it, nevertheless. Apart from that, I'm sure your local community will readily accept if you proxy some vanilla models you don't have with sectorial models you do have: that's even tournament-legal as per ITS rules. Maybe they'll go further and allow you to kitbash a "sectorial" list with approximated AVA and guesstimated Fireteams, as long as it is not a tournament game? My meta showed perfect understanding, as we were all in roughly the same tight spot, and besides, we played for the fun of it - no competitiveness here. Yes, since the Uprising, JSA is no longer playable as a vanilla army. Same goes for the other NA2, though I assume these are played by experienced gamers msotly - those who own several armies, and can choose a vanilla to play for the time being. Also, while being stripped fro myour sectorial's fieldability, it is not going to be forever. With N3, it was about two months, if memory serves me. I'm sure we can survive that long.
N3 rules were in people’s hands beginning of December, Army was fully updated beginning of the following January.
I've largely wanted to stay out of this thread, but I think this (in particular) might be a bit of a misunderstanding. I was under the impression that "SKU bloat" was a problem more for the distributors and retailers than CB. This was half of the reason from creating C1 in the first place. Overall SKUs go up, but those that a retailer can point to and say "These are the ones I need" go way down.
Not how I remeber it (more like late December for me for N3 rules, and I managed to get a few games without sectorial rules, these showing somewhere in Febuary), but not something I'm going to argue about - as memoria fragilia est.
No, you’re correct, rules were December (we’ll call it mid owing to shipping) and Army updated mid to late February. I checked my notes and saw it was as you said.
