I'll be really sad if KoJ is just a FK rehash but it looks like that might be the case

 

I have the feeling that Beyond box will be much more interesting to returning players. Mainly because we don't need more Multi Rifle Orcs or Fusiliers. I understand their choice of units, but it really seems to be made primarily with new players in mind, especially if the KoJ is more or less the same role as the Father Knight.

The amount of very similar simple weapons in the profiles seems to be a step backwards from Varuna. Extremely disappointing.

 

It's very frustrating to see this step backwards. O12 showed us that CB knows we don't need HI combi profiles. If the KoJ's base profile was the Spitfire would that be so terrible?

 

It's possible the combi rifle is intended for a "specialist operative" style deal.

 

The KOJ render is labelled Spitfire.

 

There's a combi in the dossier. I'm saying there shouldn't be combi profiles for HI. Her profiles should be ML and Spitfire unless, as Kan points out above, there's a real reason for it.

 

The more I look at those KoJ's boots, the more it says C+ to me. I wonder if they will be just knew profiles for FK with their own links or a new unit.

 

Maybe Combi rifles will be more useful in N4 or HI will come with some benefits to make Combis on them something other than a "only taken if there's no other option and cheaper"?

 

I mean, that's what people said about them in N3.

The issue is and always will be it's a combi on HI.

 

Combis can be justified. Look at the hospitaller, I'll take the combi doctor over the multi doctor quite often in vanilla. A combi is a fine back-up weapon but a terrible weapon for a combat focused unit.

 

I agree, but I still see HI as a combat focused unit, even if it's a specialist.

 

Combis kill, that's all I'll say. I don't see any harm in including Combis on HI in addition to other weapon choices. It gives you the option of paying fewer points for something that might not be your main Rambo piece. (Just like the Hospitaller Doctor with Combi vs Multi Rifle).

 

It's a fair point, though I like the versatility of Multi Rifle. But I'm not gonna fight over it. Anyway, I'm interested in new units' profiles.
