And since someone reminded me of it today...

If you lot had even bothered to take a few moments to think about what an Ariadna Support Pack could use rather than worrying about putting out more Tartary Army Korp related stuff?

You would have put a Wardriver in there instead of the stupid Kazak Doctor that nobody wanted or asked for. You put what effectively can be proxied as one in the Line Kazaks box(or did you forget about that?), that's all we needed.

    For future reference:
Kazaks are Vanilla and Tartary Army Korps only. Nobody else can use them.
A Wardriver? Everyone could use them.

Not sure if you have the Outrage characters, @kanluwen , but Uhahu makes a very good Wardriver.

Before she got an actual profile, I was usually using the Wardriver profile for her.

The LE Druze KHD also makes a good Wardriver.

The likelihood of me buying the Outrage characters is small. The likelihood of me fielding that ridiculous "Hurr hurr hurr, look we made a Sherlock Holmes reference!" character Uhahu is even smaller.

There's a LE Wardriver that came out. This was their opportunity to release a generic one. They whiffed, as per usual, with their focus on doing things specifically tied to what they want to do.

    Well, IA style is amazing.

Daoying has a cool pose and the used colour scheme is amazing, the BS one would have been better, but I like Multi Sniper models.
The three Zuyong are good but the other two I already have, HMG and RV, are still the best, finally now I've a complete 5 models link !!
Haidao, what to say about Haidao, really like the model, the pose, the colour, its beauty will stand out among the linked Zanshi.
And finally the Liu Xing, I'm trying to understand out how to use, the model is strong and the miniature is very beautiful, massive and badass, ultimately, concluding, YJ miniatures are the best :sunglasses:.

Dart is the first Gencon exclusive model I bought, and the first time I prefer the normal release to the Gencon version -.-

I was thinking the same thing.
I'm not horribly put out however, as I'm sure I can find another use for the general release mini. Not sure what yet however...

I take it you haven't read Outrage. The attitude you get from that story is much better than the CB fluff.

Even if manga/comic books isn't your usual thing, please, give Outrage a read. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the characters and story.

    Agreed.

So I was originally going to make a joke about buying this box, finding a police hat, and turning the 112 figure into Axe Cop on a bike.
But now I'm confused. In Army, the 112 profile for regular Ariadna is S2 and doesn't have a bike.

When's that update going to be applied?

I thought it was okay--I did not like her. The fluff behind it was stupid.

If you've read Outrage and weren't impressed, fair enough. I was under the impression that you hadn't read Outrage and were only basing that off of her fluff in Uprising, which isn't anywhere near as interesting as her personality in Outrage, IMO.

    My apologies.

    Really?
I don't like neither but prefer the GenCon release.

Personally I wish for more Outrage style releases or even Outrage style short stories in Infinity books. Maybe it is just me, but Infinity fluff in the books feels as dry as it can possibly get. With each new book release I have hopes for improvements and each time i am disappointed.

I agree I wish there were more narrative focused stories. The writing style of the books makes it harder to read because it's basically small quick articles and propaganda pieces. Individually they're good but it's hard for me to sit down and crack the book open and read a ton of them in 1 sitting. I think getting an author and getting some books that follow a set of characters would be great.

    This is very true!

Dude in my gaming group is totally not impressed with 3rd Offensive, and was ranting the same thing last night. He says the short little bits are not immersive for him, he wants a longer story told from the point of view of a character.

Yeah it's one of shortcomings. Like in 3rd offensive it was cool reading about some druze, haqq, and jsa defending the orbital elevator in one of the cities and only a few making it out. It makes me wanna play that scenario but also learn more. It only really gets a sentence or two. Similar to dart and konstantinos teaming up as causing some havoc. I liked outrage but I havent read a ton of manga so I can't really say if it's a good manga based on what makes a good or bad manga but similar to the books style I like a good immersive detailed narrative. The halo books do a really great job of fleshing out the background of the halo universe. Enough so that I care more about some book characters than master chief. I'd love to see CB go that route with fluff stuff. I'd love to read about some hexa agents doing shadowy black ops things. I'd love to read about some tiger soldiers dropping from low orbit into the area of operations. I'd like to see some stuff going into the hassassins and the man in the mountain. There's a huge world of possibility.

I am more interested in a idiosyncratic product designed with passion and interest, than soulless mush designed by committee. I mean no insult, but based off your frequently stated opinions, I can say that I do not hold the same values as you, and would not be interested in a product designed to your preferences. So I am glad CB focuses on what they want. They don't always hit the mark for me, (I can totally pass on tactical hoodies.) but they hit the mark often enough that I have three large factions with lots of different possible builds. So, as far as I am concerned; CB keep up the good work!

"Blah blah blah I'm more interested in being a fanboy taking potshots at someone for 'likes' than having a productive conversation".

It's funny that you somehow think that "passion and interest" is what drives their products rather than "We need to put out X releases tied to this new thing".

Do you really think we needed a Kazak Doctor model in an Ariadna Support Pack? When we're seeing multiple boxes elsewhere that feature multiple units packaged in lieu of the actual model's "box" name? Look at the Grenzer in Securitate, Kempeitai in Keisotsu, or Deva in Dakinis for an example of this.
Do you really think we needed a 112 on a Bike?

Would have been great if they had chosen decent weapon load outs. Keep in mind, that's coming from someone who has no intention of running a Grenzer core. The Tunguska starter and the Grenzer/Securitate box actually really make me want to buy into Tunguska, but I'm maxed out on armies atm, which is the only thing keeping me from it.

I love it. It's all that I needed.

I don't play Aleph, but I see it being very useful. For the load outs that the Dakini have, I like it on paper.

I didn't think it was an option, but I'm all for it. I'd expect to hear more complaints about no Wardriver or not having the dismounted version in the box rather than complaints about including new units/options in a resculpt box..
