I think I can understand why they are doing Ariadna first. They are starting off trying to market to more than just Infinity fans. It could be that they know what their existing, non-Infinity, customers like. Later on they can go more scifi with Nomads, Yu Jing, PanO etc.

I've done a bit of this style on some Marvel Crisis Protocol models, although not quite to the level of execution on this one.

Ok, because of this point I accept their decision. There is some sense. May be it was not that strategic. Something like: “hey, why not to make Grunts first” x)

We would wait. I like Ariadna, but it was not the faction, that fought me at the first sign.
And I really hope for rems)

The quality looks good. We could make lots of funny photos with this!

    Ah, by the way...
I like, how ratnik looks, but it gave me more questions. I still don’t see, how pilot’s arms should be placed inside of it. And then I’ve remembered how such mecha suits was used in X-com.... :scream:

It's the same thing with Ariadna's Blackjacks and Prospectors. And they never addressed it. And RPG books don't mention "Arms" thing either.

At this point my guess - Ariadna designers from CB just have 0 understanding how anatomy works and stick to this design cause it "looks kewl".
Pretty sure crippled angry veterans would fit ruthless Blackjack fluff rather nice.

I really picture the pilots as sit in a fœtal position inside the torso, and with some joysticks to manoeuvre the mech…

but yeah… at least it’s a bit more credible than them having no arms and no legs :)

I've never really bought into that joystick bs - why bother with wrists and figers then? Should be fine with just shoulder mounted gear like on Chernobog. Especially when you look on sniper Blackjack:

You use joysticks to control fingers that push on trigger on that gun handle. Or hold a knife for close combat instead of just mounting it on arm. Oh, and that dude is supposed to take a pistol from a holster without even seeing it. With joystick! This kind of over-engineering just doesn't make sense! Especially on Ariadna with its scarce resources and lower tech production facilities.

    Me neither, but then what?

I've never really bought into believing the pilots are some kind of Elastigirls with 3 meters wide arms each.

I'm fine with rule of cool. I chalk it up to being "comic book". Anything can happen even if it makes no sense. "Anvil from the back pocket".

I'm speculating of course but I've been in marketing for over 30 years. So, educated guess lol.

Aye, a lot of infinity is stylized to hit a specific aesthetic, I imagine if there was a switch to hyper realism there’d be much fewer glowing lights on power armor and bright colored uniforms

But yeah, the chest harness on the Ariadna mechs are generally big enough to fit a person if they bring their legs up, in my head canon part of the reason for the arm / hand design is the suits are controlled with some sort of neural integration, with closer alignment to a human build leading to better integration. This isn’t terribly far off from current tech, so it’s not out of the realm of what Ariadna would have access to, joystick and more physical controls serving as a back up for when the suits start to break down due to damage incurred

Have you seen the fallout power armor 1/6 scale figures? They have a detailed frame under the armor panels and you can see how the pilot fits into the suit.

Do they plan to do only Ariadna with joytoy?
