My fanart has fanart. Reddit user impaling_potato wound up making some pretty cool work based on my Jingwei concept. Very Samurai Jack sort of aesthetic. https://old.reddit.com/r/InfinityTheGame/comments/mgq65o/jingwei_mobile_enforcement_division_by_me/
I am also saying, at the minimum we should pitch in to get a custom STL for this bad boy. If the render efforts donĀ“t come to fruition, I am eyeing what possible conversion potencial lays in the Blue Wolf.
@TheGreg1980 let us know how it goes and if you need some founding, beer/coffee money. Heck, if it is too much of a work we can contact Chris at Monstrous Makings and see if he can slot in a super special paid request so that he helps.
Hi guys, thought I'd share an update, did some changes for weathercock and did some work on the back, I've also done some work outside of zbrush which I have to mod before it goes in, love the fanart by impaling_potato I'll have to look at doing one pose like that
Ver nice! In terms of proportion either the arm is too long or the thigh too short. Finger tips should reach around mid thigh.
Human anatomy. The concept art arm is too long as well, which I've noticed but did not comment before. Of course, you can always say it's a TAG and human anatomy be damned. The effect is that the longer arms make it more ape-like. It's a lot less noticable when posed so it's not that big of a deal.
The extended arm length is very much intentional, for both aesthetic and implied functional purposes. In addition to intimidation factor and improved reach in melee, I wanted something that looked like it was built to handle an anti-armour long gun in one hand.
Most of the TAG designs in the game have nonhuman proportions, usually in the form elongated forearms and shins, with obligatory broad shoulders and teeny head.
Usually TAGs in Infinity have small waist, wide shoulders, and long limbs. You can see it in this mid-design artwork of Szalamandra.
I thought I'd share some more progress, I have two more projects I'm getting a few minutes on in the background, I originally volunteered because I have nearly finished a mowang printable to the busy minds scale. I've gotten to the point I can use assets like the muscle fibres etc to finish off the mowang so I'm pretty happy from that point. Still working on the face plate and helmet but feet and legs tomorrow
@Weathercock and @TheGreg1980 I can't believe there is actually something beautiful happening in the wasteland of the Yu Jing forums. This work is first-class and I'm really excited to follow along. This is probably the first time in decades of wargaming where I'd consider building and fielding a fan-made unit, just because it's so great looking!
Well, I've submitted the design for CB's consideration, so it being simply a fan-made art study or becoming something more is entirely up to them (although I doubt they'll do anything in that regard, I still would like to hear what they think about the design).
Do they have an actual submission process or did you just email them and say Carlos make this happen or we're exiling you to Pan-O?
