Jayths as reinforcements would improve their value and functionality immensely while also fitting very well with their lore. Makes way too much sense to actually implement. Not happening.
Personally, I'm not sure it will☹️. With Reinforcements limited to 100 pts you're likely to have 4 orders at best to play with when the Reinforcements land (assuming the points cost of the Jayth won't change). If the Jayth land mid-field they may get a turn to do a bit of damage but it will be limited as you can't move troops into the main combat group until your following turn, so they will only have the Reinforcement group orders to work with. This means you need to kill stuff/get stuff done and/or lock down a board area, or move to a more defensive position to preserve your troops on 4 orders. Furthermore, landing mid-field would put them under threat from DTWs, which isn't great for our beloved chunky Bois, so I'm not convinced having them as Reinforcements is the answer (although it is flavourful). Don't get me wrong I'd love to get the Jayth on the table and have them feel like I'm getting the points value out of them. I'm just not convinced having them as Reinforcements is the answer.... ...but I guess we'll find out later today...!
Well, turns out the trooper with the most fitting lore justification for being in reinforcements over any other trooper in the entire game doesn't get to be part of reinforcements. As predicted.
Yeah. Fingers crossed we get a stealth update to some of the factions when Army gets updated on 3rd August. Really want to see Jayth be a viable/justifiable choice over the Caliban. Their minis are awesome
