Good that I don´t want a second Marut (2.0) so I am not tempted for the new ITS pack.

But REM Racers looks so cute, I definitly will try it out!

Most weapons in Infinity (that is almost everybody that is not Ariadna) have caseless ammo, so there are no ejection ports to speak of, one can use the rifle as they like with no conversion needed.

As far as REM RACERS go, I had the opportunity to play the prototype in the last Interplanetario and it is a really fun and engaging game, the additional development time can only have improved it!

Very excited, this look like it is up my brother's and his girlfriend's alley when it comes to cute board games. Should be a good gift to them. Maybe get a second copy to convert some mercenary REMs. Any hints on a release date yet? Or is this gonna be a 2024 thing.

Oh, so I guess that ejection port shaped hole right where the magazine and action meet is a figment of my imagination. And the magazines are curved AK-style for added artistic complexity of magazine craftsmanship, entirely not because curved magazines are a direct result of cased ammo forcing such shape.

Except Haqq rifles have obvious ejection ports on the right side and none on the left.

A weapon can not NEED an ejection port but still have one. Even the H&K G-11 HAD AN EJECTION PORT. It was caseless and the round's propellant block was fully consumed during firing, but if you got a dud (and with that prototype ammo, that was often) it was the fastest and easiest way to clear the jam unless you wanted to dismantle, strip and clean and then reassemble the weapon.

So is the Haqq basic rifle a highly advanced top of the line weapon in the gunpowder tech tree using well developed caseless ammo that psychoticstorm is making it out to be, or is it a G-11-esque pre-prototype mockup, prone to failures that requires a quasi-ejection port to deal with malfunctions, that failed field tests and never entered mass production?

And that weird wonky prototype has curved mags for the careless ammo because the designer likes to make his and the army's lives harder to the degree of ensuring the rifle cannot work properly and feed from the mag?

Or maybe we can just Ockham's Razor this and agree that the rifle is using cased ammo, has the well visible ejection port and the Ayyar is being silly using it left-handed because the sculptor doesn't know any better?

Once again, most modern rifles are just fine for lefties. The M16 had a case deflector added to allow it to be fired left handed in the 1970s and was far from the first to do so. You're showing your own ignorance here, not the sculptors.

Here's a video of a left handed shooter using a right hand ejection rifle at a match with no issues.

I would argue the depression there is way too low to be an ejector port (also this is were the magazine would be attached to the rifle), that would have been located above the barrel and not on the underside of a barrel, that been said, most Ariadna weapons also do not have ejector ports either, so most of their weapons are caseless too.

That's way too low to be an ejection port.

Top of the line highly advanced weapons - wouldn't that be aleph / O-12 gear (admittedly produced, but not fielded by, PanOceania).
Haqq stuff is generally lower-tech base, but rugged and reliable, while not being overwhelmingly expensive.

As for left-handed shooters and right-side ejection ports - Israeli Galil-series rifles eject to the right. While general average for left-handedness is 10% of the population, among some groups (was that Sephardi or Ashkenazi? Can't recall) it rises to 25%. Which made the Israeli armed forces really take that in mind (and yes, their more modern kit tends to address it more, especially once they got fond of bullpup designs). But for years, they were using right-side-ejecting Galils in an army that - like the population it came from - had a significant number of lefties.

Apparently the new Ayyar is one of these 10% (or possibly more) southpaws in Haqq society. Dunno, I don't keep track on how many models in Infinity are apparently left-handed. Especially there are other reasons for why a soldier might be holding a gun with his other arm.

For example, if you're going to shoot from behind a vertical cover, eg. a corner of a building, most handbooks would encourage you to adjust your firing side. If you peek around a corner to your right, shooting from your right shoulder is fine - this allows you to expose smaller part of your body to enemy fire. But if you are to shoot around a corner to your left, you'll need to switch to your left arm for the same effect. Now, a shooter well-trained in MOUT / CQB will know that. Maybe they won't be as accurate as with their primary arm and eye, but they can be trained to be acceptably good with their off-arm and off-eye.

Personal experience: I shoot lefthanded and had no issues with ejected cartridges while shooting a HK G3 back when I was in german Bundeswehr. Just saying...

Er, you do realize most guns will still have a way to deal with malfunctions? It's not a test-bed thing, it's a "shit will happen" thing. And that's even assuming it's an actual ejection port and not just a flat spot anyway.

Or, maybe we can just agree that the game designers are just making guns that look cool and they do not worry about whether the design fits the in-universe narrative of what the guns should do. The narrative says they're caseless, so they're caseless. If you want to deny that because it offends your sensibilities, that's fine, but it's probably not worth an argument, even on the internet. :)

But yeah, lefties have been firing modern rifles for decades without issue. Even with cased ammo, there are down-eject or forward-eject weapons, and as stated many of times M4's and such have deflectors and similar to keep lefties shooting.

It's a shame it didn't come out before Car Wars, there's a few locals that took up Car Wars a few months back and it would have been an easy sell for me. I'll still buy it, I think. Assuming it's not super pricey.

    Call me interested here.
Plus as it's stated as a retail general release, I can expect a French version (maybe later than sooner unfortunately).

But in the end one thing remains : those REMs are so kawaii
