But you're passing out a judgement based on a handful promotional graphics and propaganda slogans here. Have some patience. Let's wait and see what the CB has in stock for us this time.
To be honest, after an event that shook everything up on a geopolitical level, the politicians going "We're assembling a force for good that will do good, only good, and will go everywhere to do good, did I say "good" good?" is not unbelievable. Whether the Good Force of Good will be boring remains to be seen.
I always get intensely suspicious when a force needs to put "good" in their name or mission statement. It gives a strong autocratic vibe. Or Fae, which is probably even worse.
And Torchlight isn’t a ‘new’ force from the (admittedly tiny) blurb on the store site. They been ‘dormant’ and are now being activated…
Yes, the Libertos. So interesting to see the free members of the race as mercs in all other factions, while the slaves are present only in PanO, yet nothing is done, even O12 has the Libertos... Can't make actual world comparisons, so... it's like having Word Bearers having fun among the Ultramarines, during the Horus Heresy (ok, I'm exaggerating a little bit here XD) In fact... no. Mostly, the Al Sur de la Esfera podcast (I think it was them) asked HellLois to make something in order to see Chaksa Longarms more on the games, and mere weeks after their profiles landed everywhere XD. Justifications ingame may be more or less forced, but... I mean they will make a big box with, at most, 2-3 units that are redundant because we already have the base unit (if they add Kappas, I bet for the ML, paramedic and/or FO), and all the rest will be new units, and "must have" at that, plus a new S5 unit. I doubt it will be as bad as Bakunin's package, where old players with the full previous collection like me would lack only the Cenobites. Meh, the Large Ham phrases are now part of the (cringe) Infinity Experience at this point. All units are the best of the best (or the worst of the worst... morally) super-duper-great and good for their faction, because all lore is written from their simpatizers and there is none written by their detractors (aside from the moustache-twirling prepubescent Big Bad YJ PsychoCrane from Uprising, presented as "neutral sided"). You learn to ignore the childish declarations and stay in the very broad strokes, where the game does not contradict itself every paragraph or presents things so stupid it looks copy-pasted from WH40k (let's stabilize a wormhole! But here, you need to dump mass to make them more stable, so let's drop ships filled by cannon fodder to fill the belly of the beast! Wait, sir, can't we just drop asteroids, or ask the EI to move a planet or a fragment of one? Don't be silly! That't wouldn't be GRIMDOOORK!!!) EVERY. Frigging. Unit. In. The. Game. XDDD Main communication method: Maya Maya is Aleph, to an extent. Aleph controls almos everything on a macro level at Maya. So use that to sell to the public everything is all right, the Arachne propaganda will go the opposite direction even if you make the units anyways... Now that I think about it... the CA must be a false flag, all PR, that's why the Nomads are all being used as dupes! The shasvastii and Morats must be Chimeras or Morlocks, or a failed experiment by some superpotence, I bet Haqquislam! Where did I left my aluminum hat? XD
Neither does PanO for obvious reasons, O-12 does not even have Krakots (or Samsa) they do not employ criminal elements even if they are CA defectors.
Aida Swanson (smuggler, shasvastii) Cube Jägers (Tohaa) Oktavia Grimsdottir (smuggler too, shasvastii too) Liang Kai (self-confessed civilian killer, even if YJ would call those civilians "insurgents" during Uprising) Betatroopers' background point to them being ex-con or colaborating convicts. Not going to count the corsair bashi bazouks, since those are ITS option, but the TAG Raid merc troops are in quite the grey zone. Also, see next (Aleph does have both Samsa and Libertos in vanilla) Corrected. In my defense, I think I've never played a vanilla O12 game, just Starmada, and it was very soon in the morning to double check the Army. However, bear in mind that Aleph is part of O12 in the fluff (as Bureau Toth, from which SupportSS, OperationSS and AssaultSS depend), so I'm correct in the fluff, but not in the Army.
Shouldn’t it be today that Torchlight will be announced with their minis? Any idea on what is the typical hour they make videos / updates? (I’m super impatient about it!)
Yes, but all those are "reformed" criminals, Vidocq if nothing else is the prime example of criminal turned officer, been the father of modern criminology, Betas are in remote bodies specifically to not be associated with O-12 because of their background been criminals. I would argue that Aida and Oktavia are special cases, definitely nobody in the human sphere knows that they are Shasvastii, but mostly a case of been "characters", probably the fluff excuse is that they are both underground operatives and are needed if things need to be moved in Paradiso and Svalarheima, I would add knauf in the list, but remove Kube Jagers, they are after all an essential cube recovery service.
I'm so fuc***g out... I dont like a single figure in the whole bundle. And im so in about powerarmors...
I don’t like them at all (cries in corner). That’s way too much Space Marine style… Silverswords, if easy to take off these Roman legionnaire gears they could be cool. The tag and it’s mega sword is not Ok (sword mainly) The Hellblazers… No… Just no… those swords and shields. wtf… Pretty sure that they have an Shock CC weapon… Strider is just too ugly I like the Yellow Jacket and Nimrod though Gladius team is DOPE af though
Torchlight Brigade is giving me serious Saturday morning cartoon vibes; but in a good way. Might actually get me to start 0-12 one day, if the profiles are interesting.
