While the silhuettes are pointing in this direction, I hope the troops will not be SM-lookalikes - there are already enough of this stuff in the market. In the end it could be a good design choice though, if they managed to keep the Infinity vibe in it. If they do, they can easily run the sectorial with only a handfull of new units (like SM type HI). I like some crossover troops and O-12 already has a couple of Aleph stuff but when I have to look for a missing troop type of SP in a 90,- € O-12 sectorial army box than its too much. Apart from that my expectations are low. A new sectorial is not that exciting anymore when the catalouge is already crammed with low supported runnig ones and retired ones, that see some refresh from time to time ... and I don´t play O-12 ;-)
So there's talk of at least one troop from other factions being a part of TB. This Silo is looking more and more SP and possibly a TAG. I both like the idea and I don’t. I want a more cohesive O-12 sectoral but the idea of having some troops from the powers of the Human Sphere is also really cool. I hope if they do troops from others, they limit it to Veterans and Elites. So Hac Tao, Nisse, etc.
Starmada brought a couple of ASS troops with Andromeda and Hector, and Vanilla/Reinf have Devas and Dakinis. More Aleph loans in the new Sectorial would be consistent and frankly on-theme.
Fully agreed. And also a sectorial that leverages from the numerous vanilla units that aren’t in starmada. I would be a bit bummed having to buy other armies boxes/units
I agree. SP/Aleph makes sense to me. To the point where I use Dakini as Chaksa just because Chaksa DON’T make sense to me. Well, they have not given them a story to make sense anyway. Their background says the are intensely loyal to the Tohaa. So how the hell are they in Starmada, Bakunin, and White Company?
There was a company of Spiral Corps Longarms sent to explore Cosmolite ruins on Paradiso, something left behind from the Triumvirate's experiments with the Digester undid their brainwashing. Upon returning from Paradiso they put their services out on the free market.
I would expect most units from big boxes that will either be repackaged (like the 3 S2 troop boxes for Reinforcements) or simply told "go buy the O12 starter pack for that 3 units that go into Torchlight, so you can also play vanilla!") Be bummed. I doubt CB would spend design time on something they can't fully leverage at sales, and the big box to existing customers is an easy return. So after Spiral is convicted of crimes against humanity, humanity keeps tohaa genengineered troops armed in sensible positions? I see no Helots outside of PanO lists... Considering the speed of Corvus, now that Helldivers 2 is a hit they will wait until it's no longer one to drop units closer to their style, even if they already have the assets for lots of close units...
Libertos. The mercenary chaksa are very much in the liberto position as the radicals of an oppressed species.
Chaksa´s availability looks like they roll a dice to determine the sectorials, that can have them. Svarlaheima Winterforce is one of them. I don´t see why they put them there. They even felt wrong in Bakunin. O-12 - okay - maybe they pity them and offer them asylum. The reason why we see Libertos a lot, is the fact that they are mercs that are available in vanilla. Samsa is gaining popularity. I would take some Helots outside of Varuna.
Mostly Fluff reasons, it is worth noting that outside of Tohaa and specifically their shadow organisation nobody knows (not even Tohaa) of the experimental uplifted species, Helots and Antipodes, Chaksa that had their loyalty drives severed by the cosmolites are out to live as mercenaries because food must be delivered on the table somehow, Bakunin is the one "safe haven" that anybody who can pay can live with relative protection. I do not see Helots outside of PanOcenia easily, they are after all "citizens" of PanOcenia and their suit makes sure they are calm and collected, in contrast with Liberots who reject the pressure suit and are always rush and angry freedom fighters (and mercenaries as money for the cause must come from somewhere).
Meh Not sure. E.g I play PanO, started with IceStorm. I’d like the Boyg. Guess what? I’m not buying the full pack. Would the Boyg be in a blister, I would buy it. There are tons of other examples like this
New sectorial for now have some problem for me. It is a force "for all good against all bad" for now. The beacon of hope and justice... To be honest, this concept looks boring. Are we on that level, when it is time for a good guys in blue?..
