As of this moment, Army shows some interesting things regarding the Sapper skill: PanO has one profile (Acontaciemento Regulars sniper) with the skill. YJ has no units, but still has the skill listed in the Army. Ariadna has 3 profiles (a Zouave and two Moblot loadouts) with the skill. Haqq has no units, but still has the skill listed in the Army. Nomads don't have the skill in the Army, nor units with it. Combined has one unit (Shasvasti Haiduks) with the skill. Aleph has no units, but still has the skill listed in the Army. Tohaa has one unit (Nikoul) with the skill. O-12 has no units, but still has the skill listed in the Army. (and I'm pretty sure Haqq didn't had it a moment ago when I was checking it for the first time). As for NA2 - right now: Druze: nope JSA: nope Ikari: nope StarCo: nope (which would seem interesting in context of the Cateran they do have access to...) ForCo: nope Dahshat: nope WhiteCo: nope Spiral Corps: nope... So, looks like CB is changing something, and Sapper is likely to become way more popular soon. Including in the armies that didn't have it before. I just wonder whether Nomads are going to get it, too - or are they going to miss it.
I dont think the cateran will benefit enormously of getting sapper. Already have mim -3, usually is deployed in high groung or can get there very easely with climbing plus, so always having cover is also checked. Getting courage? not bad, but i always deploy him with a Wallace Lt, so already grants me courage... Maybe if cateran gets sapper as a new option and not in the base profile...
if they get rid off mim-3 and CAMO from the base profile and add that skills to the actual profile options and make a new one with total reaction or neurocinetics and sapper but without mim -3 and camo, it would be awesome, but it's not gonna happen
Not in the profile, but being able to suddenly have cover regardless of the table and position, and of course the dirty trick of moving to a position and then spend the order to "deploy" the foxhole to gain LoF without risking enemy ARO. Also, switching the Mimetism-3 for Marksmanship could be good for the base profile.
