So I’m planning on going to the Interplanetario this year and I’m practicing lists for the tournament.

Naturally we started preparing worst case scenarios, with Hafza spec-ops (who’s born with a Holo1) and the Jammer.
This is, by far, the most retarded and broken thing ever introduced in this game. We even started laughing frantically about it when we used it in the game.
Now, knowing CB this is unlikely to get changed soon, if ever, and will only serve as the final nail in the coffin for Spec-Ops to ever be considered by any TO’s.

However, this isn’t actually a thread complaining about the abortion of a rule/weapon that is the Jammer. The fact of the matter is that this WILL be relevant at Interplanetario and I’m trying to enter as Vanilla YJ, rather than ISS. However, I don’t really see many viable options of dealing with this kind of threat in a sensible manner, in Vanilla YJ, as opposed to for example ISS Wu Ming LGL.

How would you guys deal with this threat, from the perspective of Vanilla Yu Jing? Personally, I’m not only considering the obvious Libertos but actually the Liu Xing Boarding Shotgun, even if that is a Hail Mary.

    Thoughts?

    Yes they are.

I will share the deep knowledge I've attained on this forums from our top-players and soon Interplanetario attendants:

    GIT GUD KIDDO!

(on more related notes: use some irregular chaff and preserve irregular order so that you can act at least once after being isolated)

    It’s several times more broken.

It’s hidden, it can delay due to sixth sense, which means you have no legal grounds to declare Reset.
    Not to mention WIP18 B2.

Well you already should know that one of the dudes in the fireteam is a jammer (you can guess through placement) and you just dont engage that fireteam on their terms. You dont try your luck resetting against Ghazis on your active either?

The Krakot isn’t a bad idea in of itself but it suffers from the fact that he can return fire with B2 WIP18 vs your B1 PH10 (if you’re talking about grenade spec-fire).
Of course you could offset this by making it unattractive for him to shoot back, by hitting multiple members of the link etc.

Also, I’ve recently noticed your activity on this forums and although I’m glad that a YJ playing is starting to perform well, could you lose your snarky attitude? You seem to be overtly hostile or arrogant on many of your posts and it’s just weird.
I mean this in the most polite way as possible as I don’t think your input is bad, but lacks gravitas when you convey them in the way that you do.

Wu Ming LGL is one of my favorite models, I take him a lot in vanilla.

You don't have the link to help your BS, but even alone you can specfire on 10s in the 8-16" range bracket. And if you're doing SpecFire properly the opponent only has Dodge at a -3 due to being out of LoF as an available ARO.

Does TacAware still allow the extra order during Isolation? If so, it may be worth considering since it can finish off the Hafza or get out of dodge with it. If you aren't using the Spec-Ops for anything better, you could also take Veteran L1 and completely ignore that noise.

I’m sorry, have you played against this? You sound like some one who hasn’t. It’s not only that the spec-ops is hidden amongst 5 members, spreading itself out by a massive field, in the DZ, it’s also about the fact that when it moves upwards it creates a 16” diameter denial bubble that is massively oppressive. Much more so than the traditional Ghazi.

Yes specfiring won't work as well but you can just run the living rocket of krakot ignoring jammer to hunt other things that you should worry about, like the order pool or Khawarij Mk12/Asawira (depending what flavor of haqq you are facing)

Good input. I forgot about the Morat rule as he was now entirely replaced by Libertos but now that’s definitely a good option I’ll try out.

From my understanding, it’s exactly the same as an irregular order, with the restriction of being unable to be converted via a command token and is usable via link teams.

I'd say a kamikaze libertos/guilang/zhencha/krakot is your best option. Liu xing could work i guess, but at best you'll only knock it unconscious and chances are your opponent will just heal him back up. You really need to deal that fatal blow.

Another option, MUCH more order intensive would be to throw-away a guilang FO to drop a deployable repeater around the team, then try to spotlight the spec-ops (who might have discovered himself to isolate your guilang) and let the grenades rain. You're probably going to have a guilang FO anyway, so all you need is a wuming LGL (who's still a good option for unmasking and hunting party).

Also, if he wants to move his fireteam around to place the null zone above the objectives, an hac tao missile launcher can obliterate it the second it goes out of cover. It's a much heavier investment though, heavily terrain dependant and requires your opponent to move his fireteam.

Finally I'd probably go with vet L1 spec-ops with whatever specialist skill you want just so you have an option to ignore the jammer and rush for the objective if the needs arise.

If you think Jammer is stupid, look at Kriigel and his access to infinite Eraser. Yes, it can only target living troops with Wounds, but it's DT ammo AND you get a -3 to your Reset roll.

I'd second the Krakot, it's a good piece, has his own order to move himself, and gives a Regular order to boot.

Ghazis cannot use Sixth Sense (granted to the Specops thanks to be in a fireteam of 4+ ppl), nor can they have Burst 2 (3+ members in the Fireteam, so Haris are a thing too, if not as hard), nor can they reach 18 (only 15) in their stat.

So yeah, reset is valid against Ghazis, Cobras, and Hecklers. And against that linked specops with jammer *only in your reactive turn*.

Also, remember that PanO specops can have Jammers too, and SS2 if linked, only they have no access to the Holoecho.

But in this case, if the target is inside a 4+ link, that -3 is not relevant. And while they can be forced to dodge on 11, I think they have enough extra points to grab Hyperdinammics 1 (+3 to dodge).
Another con for this, is that Spec Fire tends to be very order consuming, and in a Limited Instertion list, very luck dependant :S

RAW I think Tactical Awareness work that way, yeah, so it's the same as using an irregular with an extra regular order in the pool.
Shame Veteran L1 costs 4pts, the same as the Jammer... it's 1/3 of the points invested on a "only when facing Specops with Jammers from panO and Haqq".

Problem being the Fireteam can dodge at their PH value (SS2) and that nothing guarantees that the Haqq/PanO player won't sacrifice a command token and a cheap troop as bait while the true Specops remains outside of the link to be added when necessary :S

    It's an option, however.

Each wave is getting filled with extra broken stuff :/

Just throw some lovely Kuang Shi at it, this will settle many problems or do the sneaky Shaolinmove (because of Stealth)

Howabout a Ninja? Can’t Jam what’s not there. Once you think you can Identify which one it is, maybe by a sacrifice jammed piece, you roll up with the Ninja.
