Well, I was thinking about "stuff that sends you to IMM-2", which is Glue and, yeah, E/M ammo. On the good side: he would still be part of te action providing his Regular Order (Veteran 1=> ignore Isolated), and can't be expelled easily from the Fireteam... at least without risk to the would-be expellor!

I mean, Vet1 means you can ignore Jammers and Oblivion, which is a great win. And it also gives a frigging heroic background to the guy! XD

@psychoticstorm I've noticed that you've recently been using "we" when referencing CB. Are you a member of CB staff? If so, I think it would be in your best interest as a moderator/member of CB to stop posting your opinions about units. There's very little that's defensible about this release, and dying on this hill doesn't give a good impression.

If you aren't part of the staff and just self identifying with CB, I'd suggest you stop that as well. It promotes a bad image for CB to have they're forum mod give the impression of being part of the company and come out here telling us we're dumb and obviously Krit is great because CB released it.

In your opinion there’s very little that’s defensible, and obviously in PS’ opinion as a player, moderator and part of the editing team there is. And considering his counsel has consisted of “try him, he seems to have uses” instead if condemning it out of hand and “provided measured feedback rather than venting in a fit of spleen”, that’s entirely reasonable, regardless of what position PS holds.

First chance I've gotten see and can't say I'm impressed. :frowning:

He's really expensive for what? Something he can accidentally kill himself with? He's just way too expensive for what he can accomplish.

I would have been happier with less. Just a Zuyong with Engineer might have been fine. It's just that out of all of the specialists theres more for less with other things.

I think this is another case of "I’ll get the figure because he looks cool but never use the profile”.

I don't really care one way or the other if the profile is good or not because I've decided to stay focused on my Nomads.

My point is that someone on CB's payroll shouldn't be telling us if something is good or bad at all.

I have to agree about the Feuerbach, why take it? All of the Zuyong HMG's are better. But the Tack Awareness beats them all. Less points, less SWC, more burst, just as good of a shot. Maybe if I somehow new I was going up against a TAG and thought I needed AP+DA then sure.

    @ObviousGray
The best applications I see are:

    • Carrying around any kind of deployable weapon. This is pretty helpful for fireteams, especially fireteams that need to operate in a mix of rangebands. Deploying E/M is pretty decent because it stops the enemy in their tracks, which is helpful. Downside is that it has a hard counter (veteran, or really pervasive Engineer support.)
    • Engineer's meta-dependent. For folks who fight Jammer, E/M, Assault Devices a lot, it's really nice to have an embedded Engineer who can do some other things. Obviously IA has other Engineers, and they're a lot cheaper, but they don't offer as much in tools or proper durability. This character frees up space in case you want your Haidao to be different too (not sure I've seen/heard of anyone using the Engineer compared to the KHD or MSV2.)
    • Active turn options. It's nice to come around the corner with a unit that has both a direct template and a pair of heavy pistols, and the enemy has to worry about AROing one or the other. This role is a bit redundant with Tai Sheing, but having a third option with E/M is situationally helpful.
    • Overall, I'd consider him for setpiece combat scenarios. By that, I mean objective rooms, or midfield-focused brawls like Frostbyte or Acquisition, where it's helpful to take a big toolbox into the midfield with you, you might need to both attack and defend, and you might reasonably expect threats where E/M is helpful. Then you have the option of deploying some E/M to help cover your team, and can help rely on Sixth Sense L1 AROs with direct templates, heavy pistol or E/M depending on what the opponent does. Sneaking through an E/M shot when your opponent's trying to dislodge you from an objective or Quadrant can be much more useful than hoping your Combi or bad rangeband HMG shots do the job.
I don't think he's brilliant, but when you build for a 3-mission or 5-mission ITS lineup and need your lists to pull double duty, sometimes it's nice to have a model that can do a few different things. There are plenty of units that are pretty bad on paper, but find a role once you apply them to a tournament lineup. When players only build for one-mission-at-a-time, it's easy to lose track of how these units can be useful. Great? No. But useful... Yeah, probably. One of my events this year had Armory, Engineering Deck, PowerPack, Acquisition and Decapitation. I can see helpful roles for this character in at least 3 of those missions. But it's a trap to thing that the best units are the ones that deliver the highest F2F odds at the lowest point cost.

FYI, the above is for the FTO option without Fuerbach, which I think is the most useful choice.

I can see using Krit in Vanilla, I love E/Maulers with my Bashi. Plus I can’t hide what it’s is a bit more with a Liberto. But in IA it’s going to be really hard to take something for those points. He’s competing with Tai Sheng for almost the same points, Hai Dao for much less, even a Shang Ji AHD! And if I need to choose, it’s going to be Tai all the time.

I wonder if Krit was one of the CB staff's rpg characters and he's just a vanity publish?

    Valid points indeed.
Personally though, I'd probably prefer using the Feuerbach FTO over the Combi Rifle FTO for whenever he enters a link team, for a couple of reasons:

This is what I'd call a very ''all-comers'' Zuyong Core team.

    3.5 SWC | 181 Points

Considering the fact bringing Krit along means replacing one of these, the easiest profile to replace here would be one of the HMGs IMO ( Tai brings too much utility to be worth sacrificing, whilst the TinBot + KHD Combo is needed to maintain protection against hacking. ). At which point you will have lost out on one of your teams primary combat weapons, so I'd rather fork over the extra 0.5 SWC and 10 points to replace one of the HMGs instead of sacrificing the less aggressive yet arguably more essential members whilst also still not loosing out too badly in terms of firepower. Essentially not much lost for a little gained.

Ofcourse there is also the option to take the TinBot profile of Tai Sheng and replace the TinBot Zuyong with Krit in order to not lose out on any SWC guns or KHD+TinBot deals, but that'll either lead to a VERY SWC expensive link team of 5 SWC, or a link team that has sacrificed it's overall firepower to gain a second DTW and a third Specialist. The Heavy Pistols don't really add anything to the link, seeing as a good chunk of the link already carry Dual Breakers, whilst the amazing KHD carries a whopping BSG no less, so dual Heavy Pistols are not that impressive for a FTF gun in the 0-8 range band. Not to say they don't have a use, just that they don't technically add much compared to the dual Breakers ( Against many targets, the Breaker ammo will even out the difference in DAM between the two. ). So I wouldn't personally go for this approach either.

So I think the Feuerbach profile has greater overall promise when Krit is in a Haris or a Core ( For a Haris, he's generally gonna be replacing the point-man anyways, since the third Haris member is probably either a Haidao KHD or Tai, units I believe Krit cannot push out of the links, IMO. ).

If I'm not running a Zuyong link of any sorts I'd probably lean in favor of the Minelayer though, since a solo Feuerbach has little practical application in IA I'd say.
For Vanilla I'd generally also prefer the Minelayer, unless I find myself having a greater need for Anti-Materiel weaponry ( Since all of his Anti-Materiel is in that profile. ).

Ech, I'm an HI fanatic, so he was going to find a use sooner rather than later for me, I suppose. Just my two State Empire approved and sanctioned cents. T:

However you'll find when you go to do the rest of the list you are now short on points for the Zhencha FO, or Daoying Hacker, etc.

Colour me surprised but I still managed to fit all that inside here.
Pardon the poor formatting though, closest estimate to Krits costs I could find was the Shang Ji, but still needed to use the Warcor to make up for points difference.
Enough points and SWC leftover to even make the Chaiyi in the LSG Panguiling if you wanted to or make a Weibing into a Rui Shi or Lu Duan.

The Shang Ji is in the place of Feuerbach Krit and the Warcor is simply there to make up for the 3 point difference

    Wait

Are they saying that it's a bannable offence because it's a joke about tears at the expense of other players, or is it to not draw the attention of new players to the fact that Bostria literally made the same joke at players expense? Serious question

The only 'synergy' profile is the Feuerbach, and Haidao Engineers are a lot cheaper. I do admit that I normally run my engineer outside the link team, but that's because you cannot use helperbots if you're in a link team!

Possibly. Most of the other named characters (aside from the Greeks) have been an RPG character.

Maybe he was an early character design for Defiance, before being moved over? Or maybe he's a crossover?
