He seems to have been made to not be a combat piece which is fine. I like that he’s an engineer. I might like him if that was really all he was, a cheap engineer. If he lost a heavy pistol, Combi, emitter, extra cc and automedkit could he have been the cheapest Zuyong link specialist, even better if he was the cheapest Zuyong of all. He’s not fighting then but that’s not why I’m bringing him.

@Triumph I do not know why you are incapable of keeping a simple level of discussion, I am sure you must understand swearing does not intimidate, but it does make your position look bad.

? oh yes PH 12 not 13, somehow I swapped the numbers when I was looking at it, 60% is not bad at all to revive gives enouph self sufficiency, yes a doctor will always be better, if it is there, if you have command tokens, if it does not need 3+ orders to get there and revive, if the doctor is not hit in the blast that took the model down ectr ecrt. automedikit is not a bad option to have.

[qutoe]You refuse to engage with the concept that CB can ever ever make a mistake[/quote]
No, but I have not accepted your reasoning on what you perceived "a mistake" and data shows that Yu Jing did not fell in power level with JSA gone and only gained with IA, despite what was evangelised in the forums.

Yes, but he can still protect the link team.

The biggest difference between Automedikit/Regeneration and a Doctor is that a Doctor will not generate ARO against the downed trooper while using AutoM/Regen will typically generate a free shot from an enemy or two.

Calling a shit unit shit doesn't mean you're attempting to intimidate anybody, it's just stating facts.

    It's shit.

    Nothing less, nothing more.

List me 5 mistakes you consider CB have made in the last 3 years and why you consider them mistakes. I'm genuinely curious.

Then that brings the issue of him being rather hard to fit inside a list with said link to protect. Unless maybe it's not a Zuyong link and is instead a Shang Ji and/or Haidao + Zhanshi link. Then I can see it being an actually plausible to afford option, I suppose.

It's like the paradox with the Liu Xing: if you need to clear a Hacker for him in IA, the process of doing so sort of does his job for him most of the time, which is getting an HI into enemy teritory.

The doctor thought may get many more ARO simply going there, a well positioned Automedikit/ Regeneration model will usually not generate any, of course a well positioned doctor may not generate ARO and revive on one order, but it is not always possible.

I would not bother much you calling units shit, still does not make you look good, but hey, calling others names is what I referenced

Why? you are repeatedly engaging in bad faith and I do not need to give you any more ammo, if I think CB has done mistakes or if I see some valid complain or criticism in the forum, I convey it to them and sometimes in the case of complain I need to disinfect it from all the vulgarity it has and make it presentable.

From the observation and evolution of IA, as I saw it, the hard list building decisions are build in the list, not sure if I convey that correct...

Yeah, that's kind of the problem - you're a bad-faith actor in this discussion because you won't acknowledge the possibility that CB might have made a mistake. By "disinfect it from all the vulgarity" I would wager that in many cases it means not passing it on at all.

But, more relevantly, we're talking about you explaining CB's mistakes to *us*, and it seems like you take the idea that we are such worms that we don't deserve the right to express critique of our betters' actions.

No, complaints and concerns are passed on, and the cleansing from vulgarity means further labor trying to convince CB that it’s a valid concern, rather than the same herd of complainers going on yet one more time with the same incessant, implacable invective.

Expecting a modicum of courtesy, decency, and politeness in the airing of those complaints is entirely warranted. A persistent and willful insistence otherwise simply confirms the suspicion of bad faith and willful ignorance.

Could you please point to the user I am attempting to intimidate by "swearing at them" and "calling them names" and then identify exactly which phrases have triggered you here?

Because you know I'm pretty sure the only person that's been directly verbally abused in this thread has been me, not that I care much.

    Jesus where to unpack this.

    Ok.

"Bad faith (Latin: mala fides) is double mindedness or double heartedness in duplicity, fraud, or deception."

Firstly, you are saying that I am attempting to engage in discussion with two minds, I believe Krit is good and I am attempting to deceive others into believing Krit is bad. For what possible end am I apparently doing this? Do you believe I normally argue points that I don't actually think are true? Am I repeatedly engaging in discussions attempting to deceive other users?

Seriously that's nonsense, even for you. Are you posting while drunk right now?

    Secondly as to "Why"
    • because you demonstrate an inability to accept that CB makes mistakes
    • you are called out on this
    • you deny this
    • you are challenged with a very simple test "tell me some mistakes you have noticed" to prove your accuser wrong
Refusing to list even one mistake just reinforces my point. To what end do you refuse? Are you afraid I'm going to say that the mistakes aren't mistakes? I'm pretty sure you telling me some mistakes CB have made in your eyes isn't going to suddenly poison my view of CB, I clearly think they fuck stuff up far more than you do.

    @Hecaton
I think this is how you choose to interpret the conversation, not how the conversation is, I have accepted CB does mistakes, go find the posts, you posted in one such thread a few minutes ago, I give you many times the context of a decision and why it is what it is, if you choose to not accept it, it is not my fault, likewise if you think something is a mistake and I do not I have no obligation to accept your viewpoint, maybe what you suggest has already been considered and rejected, maybe some other reason, maybe I simply do not subscribe to that viewpoint.

But be assured if I thought low on you I would simply not engage, the fact I discuss means I value the difference of opinion, regardless of if I agree or not.

And a small note, if you think vulgarity adds any value to your comments then you are mistaken, there is nothing cheapening more a viewpoint than resorting to been vulgar about your opinion.

Bad faith in a negotiating situation means you're pretending to be willing to compromise or listen to the other side but in reality you're not. You expect you are fully right and the other side should should be the only one to compromise.

It almost always makes someone look obstinate when they Google dictionary a word rather than ask the other person what they mean.

Yeah, I do suspect what you precisely meant to say probably did get lost somewhere in your phrasing, so an elaboration would be appreciated.

Personally though, it seems to me that the challenges with list building in IA don't come from the stuff it has itself more so from what sort of list you want to make: one combat group, or several?

This one decision, alongside with MAF, JSA and MO I must note, in IA leads to having to build lists that often end up looking so wildly varied from one another they might not even look like the same faction at a glance. This does apply to a milder extent to most other factions, but I've found so far that these four have anecdotally jarring differences in their very cores when going from a SCG list to multi-group or vice versa. For something like the IS or lets say Corregidor, the cores of the lists and gameplay themselves does not differ wildly when going from one group to two: some units may be swapped for ones that do the roles cheaper or for costlier ones that have certain benefits, but the core idea remains the same.

For stuff like IA or MAF and co, they tend to instead mandate drastic changes in their lists to make this jump in groups, so much so that the cores of those lists don't manage to survive the change unchanged.

And it seems due to how these factions seem to have a lot of in-built anti-synergies: a lot of units here do not want to share lists together. Beyond the obvious ''Not many offensive units want to share a list with an aggressive pain train'' there are just certain cases where trying to take certain units together seems to be an exceeding hassle:
The Hac Tao, Mowang, Liu Xing, Yan Huo*, Krit Kokram* and Hulang, among others, simply cannot co-exist in a list alongside with an even partially made of Zuyong core of them. They take the list from expensive to unsustainable within a click of the mouse.

Whilst on the opposite side, these units suddenly become in some way practically feasible to use once the Zuyong core is gone, but then due to the wild differences in costs among two halves of the sectorial units, you're having to either stretch for points wherever possible to remain in one group and most likely end up with a list that's sitting on the edge of basically being a Vanilla list with different AVAs or highly lacking in basic essentials as well as having half your units tied to something that will be essentially an immobile ARO cluster, or, more likely, end up falling into having a multi-group list with a cheap-ish core, some cheap-ish REMs and some solo pieces and/or a Haris.

Which then leads to a drastic change in the lists structure compared to the single-group list to the point they become like entirely diametrically opposed factions: both manage to satiate the bare nesscessities, but they accomplish these in drastically different ways the shift sometimes seems genuinely jarring.

*These two, alongside Haidaos, Shang Ji, Tai Sheng, Zhenchas and the Daoying are the odd exception I'd say, mostly due to how most of these can link into any fireteams in the faction, whilst Zhenchas and Daoyings bring rather essential stuff and Tai being a solid solo whilst Krit will only co-exist with a Zuyong link if he is in said link, whilst outside of one his role seems to end up differing greatly.

This goes the same for JSA, MAF and MO I believe, you'd just need to swap the Haris for a Duo here and there and change some names around.

I can't say though if this entirely on the factions faults for this or it's a by-product of the Order system making it so going only halfway between multi-groups on single-groups highly unfavorable ( You rarely ever see any 11-13 order, Irregular or Regular, at least it seems like that to me. There has to be a reason why the majority of lists seem to either go 15+ or just 10, leaving this peculiar gap there. ) OR both of these resulting in this happening. Maybe there's a hint in the average cost of all the units in these factions or the average of each units average cost among all profiles, depending on how much each metric would differ from the baseline 300 points divided by 10 slots in a group leading to the 30 points per unit baseline?

These are just my three exceedingly long-winded cents.

Still curious what you meant to convey though in greater detail.

    Firstly, we're not negotiating anything.

Secondly, I straight up handed Storm the opportunity to prove me completely wrong. He declined. I'm willing to change my mind on any topic, but if a person can't or won't, or in Storm's case both, put forward an argument that stands up to any kind of scrutiny naturally I'm not going to.

Thirdly, I'm speaking to someone who I assume their requirement to perform their job/role is to be fluent in English in the English forums.

I don't think you could have proven PS's point any better about bad faith.

What do you think negotiation means. Would it make more sense if I said arguing?

Did you set out to prove PS’ point on purpose, or is this merely happenstance?

Negotiation means some kind of trade is being reached. As for accusing me of arguing in bad faith, again, that requires me to believe Krit is good and for some reason attempting to deceive everyone that he is bad for some ulterior motive. Which is as I've said, an utterly stupid thing to say. The whole point of "bad faith" as a concept is to argue something false in deception to gain benefit elsewhere. I don't gain shit out of this. I play Yu Jing, I'd rather Krit not suck ass thanks but here we are.

Now if you're just accusing me of being unwilling to change my mind as I've said, you need to put forward some kind of reason for that change of mind to happen. If for example I say your opinions are flawed and biased because you're incapable of identifying mistakes that CB has made, and you disagree, I may ask you to identify some mistakes they've made to prove to the class that what you say is true and what I said is false. If you refuse... well shit what did I just say?

Are you suggesting that I'm engaging in bad faith because I knew PS couldn't name any mistakes CB has made and therefore challenged him on it knowing that he couldn't? Do I honestly need to go into why this is utterly moronic or are you happy that perhaps the term doesn't apply here.

I’m not going to tell anyone to like Krit’s profile if they don’t. But unless you have inside knowledge of how they run their playtesting, it’s really rude to slag on the testers for allowing a profile you don’t like to come through.

The snarky comments are made on the back of one unnamed playtester allegedly providing feedback that the Hulang works well for IA. IIRC it was @Janzerker that shared that story.

Now if this is incorrect or got garbled by chinese whispers and said playtester wants to correct the record I'm pretty sure we're all ears here and would be interested in hearing what their actual opinion on the Hulang in IA is.

Otherwise though in the face of Krit's underwhelming nature, the salt mine continues to be just that.

I’m not a playtester either and I don’t know how they run that. It just strikes me as putting the blame in the wrong place.
