@daszul You're clearly under the mistaken impression that being a character/Veteran troop type gives one the Veteran L1 skill. This is not the case. All of those troopers are vulnerable to Jammers.
Well, you can draw your own conclusions, but I'm 100% certain it is offered in good faith and that the consequences communicated are 100% accurate.
The reason I don't think it's communicated in good faith is that if that were true Corvus Belli would have to be crewed by colossally stupid people; "this thing's a problem but people have complained too much and too loudly about it, better not fix it" is not a smart train of thought.
The device they copied from the Ghazi sculpts is an E/Marat. They then called it a Jammer when it was put on the Heckler.
Ghazi have Jammers and in their (Ghazi) dossier it is called a Jammer, so it is a Jammer and always was a Jammer.
When it’s the same people who cannot seem to be satisfied no matter what measures are taken and who resort to flinging insults wantonly and willynilly whenever they don’t get what they want when they want, it could be argued it’s a smart strategy...
The first Ghazis had "the thing with the cords that runs to their backpack and is held in the hand' as an E/Marat.
I used that Haqq spec ops with jammer and holo today and he turned Saito into a nice bit of street art when he tried to chuck smoke on the objective in Looting and Sabotage, lol
The old ghazi had e/marat, connected to their backpack. the new sculpt have a "jammer", also connected to the backpack. The old fluff of the e/marat was all about that backpack. The current fluff on the wiki says the new version has a parabolic deflector (version 1 was circular template). http://infinitythewiki.com/en/E/Marat which is a 100% match with the new ghazi sculpt edit - but i guess jammer can use/share the same backpack and parabolic deflector.
Sure, but given that the dossier doesn't describe the device as an E/Marat/Jammer, then we can apply Occam's Razor here and assume someone messed up.
I made sure to get blue-background photos so that we know we’re looking at 2nd ed labeling, just in case they did a stealth update in N3. Original ghazi: Oversized chain rifles and e/marat triggers in their hands. This was when it was a circular template that also fried the user. New ghazi: Parabolic weapon is clearly labeled as “jammer”. E/Marat is not explicitly visible.
@psychoticstorm You misunderstand me. It says Jammer, yes, but in the books that piece of equipment is described as an E/Marat. And if you look at the old (I mean old old) ghazis, they have this piece of equipment connected to a backpack. The fluff for the E/Marat describes a newer generation of them that are more directed in action and have parabolic deflectors, so this "Jammer" is basically an E/Marat with parabolic deflectors.
