1W + V: NWI + Bioimmunity is actually a pretty interesting package. I'm wondering if that's going to be common to all of the "light" HI in Invincible Army and the fact that it was missing from one of the profiles was just an error. It's certainly not a direction I was expecting them to take things, though.
Yeah, there are a lot of sectorials that have higher AVA on units than you'd actually want to take. It gives you the option of doing something off the wall if you're feeling like having a laugh, but just because a unit is AVA X doesn't mean there's a realistic expectation that you'll want to take X of them.

Look, this is Marketing 101 stuff: If your marketing campaign does not excite the customers/potential customers into squeeeee-ing and saying "MUST BUY!!!", you're doing it wrong. Can't dodge it. Hell, the Daofei showed that the idea of the Invincible Army was to have a 2W HI in the role of the Skirmisher. We all extrapolated that to apply to 2W HI in all roles but TAG and REM (having to specify just to deal with assholes reading literally to claim 'moving goalposts' later). So when the 'new hotness' of the Invincible Army is revealed to be models that have all the downsides of HI and none of the benefits, can you blame me for not being very excited? Didn't realize I needed to specify 'that can complete ITS missions' in that statement. But apparently some people are entirely too fucking happy to read literally, just to later claim 'moving goalposts'. I expected the Invincible Army to be able to field 8-10 2W HI in 300pt ITS. Yes, they would have been primarily Zuyong. There was a Daofei in there for skirmishing. There may have been a Yan Huo in there for more guns. Might have been a Tiger/Liu Xing in there. CB hasn't shown that (yet, so I'm still holding out hope).
Yeah, so far no other faction has infiltrating camo'd HI (Daofei and now Zhencha even though zhencha is invalidated by shock. That really, really stings, but I can work around it) or exploding AD HI (We have to see how it actually works, but I hope it's awesome). I'm curious about the new Haidao, Mowang, and Hulang troops. Haidao seem like they're gonna be utility/support so I'm assuming specialists, some special weapons, and maybe a sapper sniper or something since there's a multisniper in the dossier. It's got a special fireteam, so I'm guessing either mixing links with our line HI or with the son-bae missile launcher or pangguling. If it's the latter, someone mentioned a potential haris with the TR combi bots. That sounds genuinely awesome. Mowang... No idea. His weapons seem light and mid-ranged with disposable longer ranged weapons. We'll see what he has and whether he has more weapons than the dossier suggests. I'm curious about his place in vanilla, though. Of our S5 units, the Yan Huo is our heavy gunner and fire superiority and the Su Jian covers most of our mobility/mid-ranged combat so I'm curious what Mowang brings to the table. Speaking of mobile S5, I really hope the Hulang is something akin to a HI biker or something similar. They're called "shock troopers", so I'm assuming they're gonna be fast, but we'll see either in future teasers or when the book comes out next month. I understand peoples' disappointment since the Zhencha's NWI really stings and the liu-xing doesn't exactly blow my mind, but I'm trying to stay a little positive, at least. Like, I'm seeing the liu xing and zhencha as supplements and alternatives to the existing tiger soldier and guilangs respectively rather than replacements. Tigers and guilangs are pretty damn good at what they do, but I just like my theme of big, power-armored dudes everywhere (why, zhencha, why???). The way I see it, no matter what happens we're getting some new toys and a new way to play YJ. Not that ANYTHING would make me happy, though. If this bombs and is mostly DoA, that's gonna really suck and I'll never forgive CB, but there's still plenty of info to be revealed and I hope the future stuff's cool. It'll give me more stuff to paint and options to strategize about. One of my regular opponents always brings the "I'M SPARTACUS/SALADIN" list, so it'd be fun to blow up the copies and occasionally catch an ayar, hafza, or hopefully the real thing occasionally :D
I'm talking about on the whole outside of MO. Su Jian, nothing else like it. Dao Fei and Zhencha are pretty unique. Crane... Yan Huo they all bring something that no other faction can really replicate. Plus we have the other new ones to look forward to.
