Amyah fiddled a bit with the Com-Log "Virtual Keyboard" to which the controls of Her Advanced Sensor Suite was slaved to. . . With the help of Her customized Geist, Ka-Ba-Sekhem (whose Infosphere Avatar quickly "Digitally Morphed" into a tiny, almost chibi-like representation of Ibis-Headed Toth, Egyptian God of Knolwledge & Lore) then She quickened immensely the otherwise minute-lenghty procedure of setting the predictive wavelenght-scans and self-perceptive algorythms of the Sensors. . . As asked by "Chi Lin, the Van Driver" (the "Official Trysterion" alias of Konrad, "Dashing Human-Edge Star Pilot & Handsome Space Pirate". . . . .at least in the skewered perception of the Not-So-Sound-Of-Mind beauteous woman from Haqqislam !!) She dutifully calibrated the Patterns of the Sensors to work as "Chemical Analysis Sniffers" to spoor even the smallest "Techno-Organic Stink" of spilt Human Hemoglobine (with a sensate Tax-Of-Oxydation for Open Air) or "Gunfight Traces" (ranging from the Burnt Blackpowder of Cased Ammo, still used by "Primitive" Ariadnans, Haqqislamite and Fringe Edgers. . . . .all the way to the Ozone-Tang of Liquid-Metal Magfield-Shaped "Smart Ammo", propelled by the more advanced Massdriver Railgun weapons, commonly employed by the most advanced Hyperpower Ballistic Firms !!!). . . . . As soon as the Analysis of BOTH Her, and the Driver / Pilot, Observational functions of the Com-Logs had been collated and compressed by their own Personal Geists then the bodacious, gorgeous Bourakite compiled a quick result algorythm to be shared by all the Team Encrypted Comms. . . . .who kowns details that Amyah and Konrad would unconsciously skip off as unimportant would be "Glaring Alarms" to the differentiated "Nomads-styled" perceptions of "Nathan" (Impi from Corregidor) and "Mr. Calverston" (Eddie from Bakunin). . . . . Having done so, then She (carefully to not let Bo Ryan do, sense or feel anything dangerous, sandwiched as He was between the Chimera Cyber-Gladiator and the Gene-Engineered Regenerating Supersoldier) then she proceeded to insert a Nonlethal Drum-Clip of Shotgun Shells on the Human-Edger Boarding-Shotgun and, then, slowly (and carefully) inserting one Nonlethal Slug at time, reloading Her own Light Compact Shotgun, a Yungang Xing of Chinese design. . . After putting 5 shells in the short, stocky underbarrell tubular magazine, Amyah then put another six one extra more "Smart-Foam Nano-Rubber" slug directly in the open firing chamber. . . After putting the Digital Safety on both the Unrifled Barrell Guns silently She offered a choice to the Space Pirate from the Human Edge, allowing Him to retrieve His own "Devcon Arms Outburst Mk2" or keep the shorter, lighter, more compact Shotgun borrowed from the Special-Forces Field-Medic from Bourak. . . . .!!! . . . . . [@sonicReducer @DrunkCorsair. . . On top of offering a "Bonus Momentum" to anyone Friendly in Close Proximity of the User, the Advanced Sensor Suite ALSO lower DIFFICULTY of -1. . . Don't know if this was yet considered by @Solodice when declaring needed Rolls, but if so, then I will modifiy Results / Do a New Roll as needed. . .!! I will hereby spend a ONE MORE Momentum from the Group Pool, hoping to generate more success and give a little more edge to the Team, on top of a (HOPEFULLY) Good Roll. . . Amyah Awareness 8 D2 Roll First Roll= 7 Second= 3 Third= 14 Fourth= 19 If the Target is still Diff. 2 then She BARELY succeeded. . . . . . . . Now We should be at Momentum: 7 and Heat: 12]
[I just roll my 3 dice, 2 normal + one from the sensor suit, Awareness is 11 Roll(3d20)+0: 4,2,1,+0 Total:7 Looks like Konrad is super aware in fear.]
[Momentum: 8 (refilled thanks to Konrad), Heat: 12] Piranha Market Every fiber in Konrad's body was screaming something was wrong. Why weren't the guards there? Why was the front door still unlocked? He starts to assume the worst as he scans the streets and buildings around him. He catches the glint of a visor from a side alley then notes what looks like a front wheel poking out from it. He spots more in front and behind them. They were boxed in by at least seven bikers. Amyah and her sensor suite notes how quiet the town is. It was closing hours but this place was a ghost town. Like they all packed up in a hurry. In the silence though there's the sound of rubber squeking against asphalt, synthetic and heavy cloths rubbing against one another, and what sounds like a helmet visor being lowered. Locating the cameras for Impi was trivial. However, it seems someone already did his job for him. All nearby cameras are offline...
Saito checks for any additional security that might be hidden around the back of the house and that the coast is clear. D2 observation roll Target number 11. Roll is 6+2. 2 successes. D2 Stealth roll. Target number is 14. Roll is 9+7. 2 successes. Keeping to the shadows and cover so that he isn't in direct line of sight to anybody who might be looking out any widows, he cautiously makes his way to the back door. Knife out, but relaxed. Hearing, seeing, checking with every sense his body has he tries to detect the presence of anybody. D2 observation roll. Target 11. Roll is 10+2. 2 successes again. @Solodice I'll await the results of those rolls to see where i go from there. (I have my entire sojourn mapped out bar any complications. Of which i suspect many.)
Gated Community No additional serious security (cameras or sensors) on the house save for biometric locks on the doors and break in sensors on the windows. Saito sneaks his way to the open door. He peeks inside and is only greeted with steam and the sound of a shower going. Seems the pool goer is rinsing off. From his spot Saito can see into main hall of the house. He doesn't spot or see anyone else... yet.
Taking a quick inward sigh and a mental come on. Saito sneaks his way into the house, keeping low and alert. He looks around and tries to make his way to a side room. Peering inside, it seems deserted with the lights off. A study by the looks of it. A quick look around and then he ducks in.
A quick command to his geist. Saito instructs it to make a floorplan of the building as he passes through, as well as to sense for electronic devices that can be bugged discreetly.
[Momentum: 8, Heat: 12] Piranha Market The team weighs their options on what they want to do as the bikers look on from the shadows. Suddenly engines roar to life and rubber squeals against asphalt. The bikers were done waiting and now all seven of them were coming down on the team's vehicle. Two from the front, two on the sides, and three from behind. [Alright, PCs go first. All bikers are within medium range.] Gated Community Saito slips through the steam of the room and out in the hall. He then quickly locates another room to pop into to stay out of sight. It's a study or at least once was. It's hard to tell in the dark but the only thing remaining in this room to make it a study is the desk. Everything else is training equipment (weights, treadmill, etc.). [Saito can plant one of his bugs in here on a Stealth D3 roll. Don't forget the bug grants +2 momentum for trying to hide it.] Saito peaks back out into the hall. Down the hall it opens up into the main living room and a similar looking hall is down on the other side of it with 2 closes doors. Saito has to pop back in as he hears the shower turn off and the sound of heavy feet hitting tile. He then catches a glimpse a huge muscular man (twice the size of Saito) exits the room in just a bath towel. Saito watches as he exits the hall into the living then turns left heading up towards the front. He then hears two distinct voices talking to one another. Something about checking the chlorine level in the pool.
[ Shit, shit, shit!!! Saito, we're in hot contact, support will be as it happens from our end! ] "Konrad, run those two assholes in front of us over! Mister Ryan, if you want to live through the next 15 minutes, get your bloody head down and keep it there!"
Waiting to see if Bo Ryan complied with Eddie barked, intimidating tone of voice (and more than happy to FORCEFULLY push down the smug race fixer if not !!) Amyah then awaited a little more before silently, worldlessly handling to the Team Leader the Boarding Shotgun borrowed from Konrad (that the handsome Chimera Ex-Gladiator forgot to address with the proper alias of "Chi Lin" in the justified harrowing confusion of the moment). . . She was ready with Her own trusty short-barrelled, stockless Yungang Xing Light Shotgun, to shoot the same Nonlethal Shells at any thrice-damned (and twice-cursed by Set, Egyptian God of Darkness !!!) Biker that approached too much. . . With those Smart-Rubber Biotech Slugs AT LEAST they could appeal to "Nonlethal Self-Defence" with the nosy interlopers of the Island Police. . . . .but SHOULD a Stun Deterrent would NOT be enough, then the gorgeous Haqqislamite was MORE than ready to unleash some bursts of the devastating Kalashnikov-Shaped Armor Piercing Rifle. . . . .!!! . . . . . [IMPI !! My Handsome Zulu Hacker, try to run some Quantronic Interference on their Yakuza-Tattoed Arses, if You can !!! Or, at least, prepare YET some Firewall Counters for their OWN Hacker-Biker, that Toth-The-Wise-Scribe curses Her with the Babylonian-Thousand-Tongues Malediction !!! And if some Bozo-Zuki approach too nearby Your side, and seems to want to unleash some more of their Yujing Submachineguns on Your pretty black face, then remember that You have My Ariadnan Assault Pistol. . .and that Three Rounds Bursts of Cased Ammo tends to have an Upward-kicking Recoil. . . . .!!!]
Cursing under his breath, Impi pulls up a tactical HUD, bracing himself as the van shudders and moves. He glances at an overlay showing the 7 bikes, possible target systems highlighted. He spots a familiar quantic signature - the hacker who got away a few days ago. She is data bursting and Impi decides to black her out and protect the group if he can. He throws up a blackout script and begins bombarding her quantic gear. [ok 'ere we go Int 13 + hacking 3 = 16 1st roll = 5 2nd roll = 9 2 successes Burning one Momentum for the Blackout effect on the hacker's hacking equipment] Edited to target the biker hacker
Konrad starts to curse in at least 5 or even 6 different languages as the engines start roaring. You just hear a loud: "Hold tight!" as the car starts moving but to everyones surprise the car is moving backwards straight to the group of 3 bikers aimed to hit them with the trunk. [As described rules i am doing a vehicle attack using the Pilot skill i use the bonus Momentum from the Inlaid Palm Crcuitry and 1 from the teampool to hit at least one of them as its a raming attack it should be a face to face roll with the bikers. 4 Dice for me with one re roll Coordination is 11 with Pilot Exp 3 and Foc 1 Rolls: Roll(4d20)+0: 19,8,3,12,+0 Total:42 Raming attack I re roll the 19 Roll(1d20)+0: 9,+0 Total:9 re roll Raming attack So its 4 successes] A second before the impact the sound system of the SUV cracks in to live and you hear the female voice of Konrads Geist: "Ready for Action." then some some sort of classical music starts to play: After the passing of the bikers Konrad does a 180 degree turn on the next crossroad and starts the race with the bikers. [Hope that surprise attack helped to get some time. Do i need to roll for turning the car] [Boss, where do we head, we cant outrun them forever and some help from people with more guns would be rather apreciated.]
[ That'll work. ] [ Agent Lan! We are under attack by biker gangs, current position is just outside the Piranha Market and we are fleeing east! We're trying to avoid populated areas, where do you want us to lead the idiots? We, ah, happen to have found one Mister Ryan and some property we are assuming belongs to his employer, he is in the car with us, and we are attempting to keep him alive. ]
[Tested out OOC combat posting. Let's see how IC combat posting goes.] On The Road [Momentum: 8 (re-filled by Konrad), Heat: 12] [Program Damage: 3] Bo Ryan didn't need to be asked twice to get down. He tries his best to squish himself as low as possible. Impi does track an old quantronic friend among the bikers. The hacker from the Karaoke place. This time she wasn't getting anything off as Impi watches his blackout program doing its namesake to her. Konrad swings the SUV in front of one of the oncoming bikers. The biker is to slow to react. A sickening crunch of metals and plastics is followed by a biker being catapulted to the left with his motorcycle cartwheeling over the SUV. [One biker down. Six to go.] Konrad doesn't stay long to admire his work as he puts the petal to the metal and peels out of town. Eddies tries to sent a message but his geist comes back informing him that they have no outside connection to Maya or any form of communication. [Give me a D3 Observation roll @Section9.] Konrad tries to shake the bikers but the speed of their bikes makes it trivial on them to keep pace. Three bikers swarm around the SUV while the other three hand towards the rear. [2 Bikers are at close range, 1 at reach, while the other 3 (one being the hacker) are at medium range.] ==== Biker 1 (close range) attacking Konrad with Light Shotgun (AP Shells): 1, 14. 1 success Damage: 4, 2, 6, 5, 1 3 damage and 1 effect (Piercing 1 = Ignores 1 soak] Hit Location: Torso Biker 2 (reach range) trying to hit Amyah with Cobra Baton: 20, 13 1 success, 1 complication Damage: 6, 1, 5, 1, 6 2 damage and 2 effects (Stun, Knockdown*, Viscous 1] = 3 damage and Amyah is staggered *Not going to work in a vehicle Hit location: Left Leg Biker 3 (close range) trying to hit Eddie with Assault Pistol: 17, 20 0 successes, 1 complication [GM REMINDER: You can make reactions but doing so means you pay the GM 1 heat. Additionally, don't forget about bonus damage dice from your attributes (Core pg. 71/Player Guide pg. 79)! Also, everyone need to give me a 2d6 roll to see what kind of cover the SUV is giving you. Remember, only 1s and 2s count with a 6 being an effect but that doesn't matter with this cover roll. What ever you roll is the soak the SUV grants you.] ==== The three closest bikers spring into action. One levels a light shotgun at the drivers door and delivers a slug into it. Another springs open a cobra baton and swerves towards the passenger area. The baton smashes through the glass window and comes down hard on Amyah. As he tries to retract his arm his sleeve gets stuck on the door. He's stuck good. Eddie watches as a biker levels an assault pistol at him but as biker squeezes the trigger nothing happens. The biker looks at it in confusion. It's jammed. Before we go into the next round... [Spending 4 Heat: Major Complication] Late night traffic on this island? Nope, road work! The SUV and the bikers are barreling towards some road work. The road is cut down to one lane with heavy construction remotes working the other side. [All pilot rolls now have a +2 complication range (rolling an 18, 19, or 20 is a complication).] Everyone ignored the flagger autodroid which said don't go down the road. Well, there's a good reason for that... there's another car coming straight at the SUV! [@DrunkCorsair give me a D3 Pilot roll.]
[ Going to buy one extra die for that observation test, since we have one extra from Aaliyah's sensor suite. 4,5,8,13 on the dice, and Eddie's Observation skill is 12. Rolled 4,6 on the cover roll, so nothing there. ]
[@Section9 Eddie spots one of the riders at medium range (lets call him Biker 5) has a large backpack. A few antennas are sticking out from it but it doesn't look like any of the field hacking backpacks he's seen before.]
[ Nathan! Some joker seems to be jamming Maya locally, Blackout that joker with the large backpack! We can't get any help until his jammers go down! ]
[Ok, doing some rolls Cover roll Roll(2d6)+0: 2,3,+0 Total:5 Cover Roll That gives me one point of cover / soak which is ignored by the effect. So i take the 2 damage, as i dont wear any armour and the SUV grants 1 point of soak. I take one Momentum from our pool for the D3 pilot test. Again 4 d20 with one reroll Roll(4d20)+0: 9,6,17,13,+0 Total:45 D3 Pilot Test Already 3 successes (Coordination 11 + Pilot Skill 3) I dont use the reroll as i just avoided the 18 for failure. What roll do i need to roll to scratch of the unwanted passenger at stuck in the window?] Konrad screams in pain as that AP shell goes straight through the door into its ribs. But even in pain he realizes that he got the wrong driveway and tries to keep clear of the incoming traffic.
[Changed the last post for the aditional 1 point of Soak for the SUV Roll against the stuck Biker to loose his bike: 3 dice on Pilot with one reroll: Roll(3d20)+0: 5,12,17,+0 Total:34 Face to Face roll against the biker To make it more defficult i reroll the 17 Roll(1d20)+0: 15,+0 Total:15 reroll for the 17 Better but not good enough, its 2 successes from my side against the Biker] Noticing one Biker stiking to one window of the car, Konrad tries to scratch him of either to the front of another car or some construction stuff at the side of the road.
