I am strongly of the opinion that nothing that has a profile should be only available through a limited release. Limited models should either be alternate sculpts or not have rules.
Not a bad thought, but, typically, CB doesn't leave anything entirely unique. And since they've got profiles, they'll get general releases.
The minis for the 6 playable characters (Cadin, Qiang Gao, Jazmin, Uma Sorensen, Rahman Rouhani and Trisha) very much should remain unique to Defiance. However, there are 6 and that is a *magic number* for a box. So who knows what is planned. They are all playable units in N4. Resculpts for retail release would be fine, as long as they are not as nice as the Defiance sculpts. Hawkwood, Kusanagi, et al --or is it etc. here (given that they are not real people)-- are just LE minis. Back Defiance & get the cool LE mini, otherwise buy the normal retail version. That one releases before or after the other, meh. We've had LE releases that came after the retail version was available... IIRC, Penthesilea was the first. But I'm not certain. Ah, the vicissitudes of memory. We should hear some good news this week, at least if CB expects to have things shipping by the end of November. The light at the end of the tunnel is actually visible. Yay.
If only for the sole reason that with the stretch goal alt parts, there'd be three new sculpts of each.
I still hope that this will be my Christmas present for myself. As long as it's here for then, I will be happy.
Rouhani and a number of other Defiance characters are referenced in the N4 Core Book, it would be nice to get alternate sculpts for those that missed the Kickstarter.
Yeah. With the profiles, I imagine we will. Perhaps not until the end of 2021 or beyond, but still...
My understanding was that the only units that were unique to Defiance were the Megalodron (being a special LE-mission-only unit, though it's got fluff in the N4 book), and Gaspar and Duchess (since they're not real units, just a Nasmat and a Yudbot). I can't source that though, it may have been a staff comment on the KS.
Yeah, like I said, I'm not wanting to mess over people, but at the same time it IS a different game. Maybe they'll have a general release Wild Bill or Parvati or whatnot like the Soldiers of Fortune, but they are Aristeia! characters with Infinity stats. Plus, there's plenty of units missing minis, so if it takes a year or two for a Defiance pack of 6 minis to come out in alt sculpts, it'd still be less time than a Monstrucker, right? :) That said, from the start I wanted an NA2 Revenant sectorial to put all the heroes together in an Infinity game. (Yes, I know there's too many sectorials already, but whatever.) So a Revenant Starter with the 6 heroes (or 8 including Jaan and Kendrat) could be tied into that. I doubt it'll happen that way of course. Or hell, Agnes, who was a footnote holder for a HVT type that was never meant to be a mini, but is now a full character due to kickstarter folks fixating on her. She's part of that experience and it feels odd to just toss her into the normal Infinity world as a set of stats. Balancing that kind of "you had to be there" vs giving every Infinity player a full experience is an odd thing at times. Though, she probably should have remained without stats. I'd also not want any of the characters from the kickstarter to be like, the bestest best at something so everyone takes them in a game. (Though again, proxy rules mean that doesn't even matter a whole lot.)
Why you gotta hate on Agnes? I think almost anyone who did a demo got her killed in like the first move. :( We owed it to her.
HVT's are invulnerable. Not victims of ignorant demo people with only vague instructions on her survival. :(

Yeah, F them EU plebs! Can't wait to watch a flood of Unboxings, Reviews and Letsplays from US while burning inside with jealousy. Oh, well. What a dissapointment. And If wave 2 ships before mid-February it should be shipped to customers late-April - mid-May. I really wish I didn't waste extra 70 eur on split shipping. Good to know for sure and leave all the hope.
Excellent news! More time to finish what I have on my painting desk. Also for clarification. Every new release CB makes should be better, faster, stronger and more beautiful than their previous. The idea that backers should be rewarded with better or unique sculpts is quite frankly stupid. We've already been rewarded plenty. Let the plebs taste the sweet nectar of our hard work!

So...basically February in the UK. Sigh. And the bit about the UK leaving the EU....I can't help but think that is a preamble for extra costs. I voted against Brexit for many reasons, and this sort of thing was one of them.
