    Precisely.
It's also being marketed in the interviews as a product "ideal" for Shasvastii players that just bought the Operation: Wildfire box, so it's not as if there was no intention at all.

The new Shasvastii in Wildfire got me interested in Shasvastii. I really didn't like the old sculpts (no matter how good Sheshkiin was after the relaunch of the Sectorial, but maybe finally being able to field my own BS15-Combat-Monster helped too). This make me the target audience I guess.

So even if I would not be interested in a Coop-Boardgame I would buy Defiance just to basically get the whole Sectorial in one package, although I assume it will take me a year to paint the 50 models ...

As I see it you are wondering if you will be able to get the models after the Kickstarter.

I assume either CB will be offering the complete Deluxe Package even after the Kickstarter, although I doubt it (too expensive to stock it, might take a long time to sell off).
Or, more likely, they'll stock the Standard Defiance Package and make the additional models available ... either in Infinity Blisters or in Defiance Bonus Packs.

This way new players (entering after the Kickstarter) will be able to get the models
And to be honest it would be a shame (and waste of money) to use the sculpts only for the Kickstarter. I assume they'll enter their regular range of models.

How fast this happens ... well this is another Story.

So far Corvus Belli has stated (several times, in fact) that Defiance will be Kickstarter only. We can assume that the models (albeit with different posing, or at least different arms) will be later released at an unespecified point in time, because "usually" Corvus does that. But we really don't know.

Because of that, marketing Defiance as a "Kickstarter-ony" product and targeting players that bought Operation: Wildfire, without clarifying how or when will those Shasvastii models be released for Infinity, feels like a "Grab it now before it is gone forever!" scheme.

EDIT: I'm not saying that the "evil" plan is to do that, just that Corvus Belli should explain better the situation and clarify the questions that some of us are rising regarding future Shasvastii availability.

Really, asking for CB to say "We are going to release the Shass model in Defiance box later in separated box" is asking them to shoot a bullet in their feet (french expression).

Even if they do release these boxes (and maybe they will, maybe they won't because of SKU limits), they won't tell until the KS is over. As much as they love their customer and want to be transparent, there are some marketing tricks they have to use for people to buy their product.

I'd prefer for the product to be good enough to not need such tricks. Specially against the target audience: existing Infnity players, instead of new people who knows nothing of the setting/game.

Counter argument: The number of times I've heard gamers declare a game dead, irrelevant, or not worth getting into because a release was pushed back a week, or there was a slow release schedule.

You, specifically, who want CB to market differently have to suffer because CB is marketing to wargaming lemmings, I mean "the people who buy wargaming based on advertising and novelty".

I see where you are coming from, so I made a list to check if I want Defiance for the game or in fear of missing out on Shasvastii models.
(in case it matters: I already own Wildfire, but didn't assemble the Shas part until now. Currently play O-12 so I'll get the Beyond Box for sure)

    - 3 Cadmus: Nice for as long as the Cadmus rule interaction of AD and Decoy is broken (I don't believe this will stay after N4), outside of that unnecessary
    - Gwailos: unnecessary as Ava1 and there is one in Wildfire
    - 3 Nox: it looks like there is an HMG, which is interesting, but essentially there are already 4 Nox available if you count the paint set FO mini
    - 2 Speculos: way nicer models than the current new sculpt, but not necessary as a blister is there
    - 1 Charontids: nicer looking that the existing blister, but not one is enough anyways and its not Shas
    - 3 Caliban: Wildfire Caliban is enough and can be duplicated if necessary
    - 1 Aida Swanson: Model exists, just hard to get (already own it)
    - 1 Victor Messer: Model exists, just hard to get (in negotiations with a friend, hi @Tristan228 )

    "Locked in" Defiance for now:
    - 3 Taigha creatures: Totally necessary for play, but you need about 8 anyways so either there is an Infinity release or you might need to proxie / convert anyways
    - 3 seed soldiers: nice to have, but I haven't really seen them in competitive lists. If necessary the old sculpts can probably still be found somewhere
-Jayth cutthroats: not my go-to units, but would be bad to be locked in Defiance

So we are at about 22 Models currently known and the vast majority of them doesn't really inspire me to pick up Defiance for the sake of playing Shas.

Models that would "inspire" (force?) me to get Defiance to play Shas would be:
    - New Dr. Worm
    - Haiduks (bc. I believe Sapper on snipers is underrated)
    - Noctifers (bc. new sculpts would likely be amazing)
    - Teshno Experts (important profile)
    - Sphinx
    - more Shrouded (likely to be spammed in some builds)

So to me it seems to come down to wanting to own some new beautiful models rather than feeling that I might not be able to build competitive Shas lists.

I hope this list might help others to make their buying decisions without negative feelings :)

There are two more Villan factions to be unlocked. Sygma would make me loose my mind :D

Part of me hopes stretch goals don't get too silly, I've seen too many KSers get hugely delayed and even lose money due to excessive free stuff in stretch goals.

I'm hoping for things like extra missuons, printable cards to use more Infinity troop types and characters, stuff that won't impact the production time of physical rewards.

    I don't disagree.

The two locked "Villain" slots on the Defiance webpage, however, suggest some epic silliness may well be in store. Regarding those: assuming CB is taking a page from other successful Kickstarters, my money is on two large, paid expansions that will be revealed during the campaign. Beyond that, I suspect the stretch goals will be reasonable (more maps, a few extra player characters or NPCs, etc.). No way to tell before we get there though!

That’s really interesting. 32 minis isn’t as much as I thought based on previous info. So far, there are 26 models shown on the website, that doesn’t leave much room for surprises outside of stretch goals

32 plus the 12 on the Core, for a total of 44, before any possible stretch goals we might not know of.

Sorry, I don't know if it is because English is not my mother tongue, but I don't even understand what are you trying to say.

    No.

    12 in the Core.

+ 20 more in the Collectors Edition to make a TOTAL of 32.
