Oh, I know. Taiwan and other Singapore have factories closed, consumer electronics are delayed all over the place.

As I've been told today - quite admirably. Definitely not by stifling it down and being silent when expectations and promises are not met.

Again, you're misinterpreting something they said. People asked if 1E would get them access to the PM and they could upgrade, and they said yes.
    In the FAQ is:
Will there be a late pledge?
Yes, there will be a late pledge for everyone who missed the opportunity to participate in the campaign.

That's from Nov 5th. So they directly stated you could late pledge 6 days into the campaign.

    People asked...
You generally pledge 1E or whatever in order to make sure you know when it opens and make the decision later on, Late Pledge is very common. As I said, some companies raise prices during Late Pledge, wouldn't that have made more sense if they were so money hungry?

Nope, the PM was late, which some folks complained about. People are also complaining that it closes too soon, so reconciling those two things is a little odd to me really. I guess they found it easier to just forgo their own pledge manager and use Gamefound instead, so had to shift to setup the Gamefound account. Does that matter at all?

Do you reallllly need to look at everything in such a negative light? It's a game, if a pledge manager opening a month late, or a due date missing a month late is a major ordeal that makes you distrust a company, you're probably too invested in it.

The shipping costs are a major factor, and while I understand the issues (as it affects all the kickstarters I've backed, and is a factor in why I probably won't get Dawn of Madness, which I did the $1 thing with), it's just the reality we live in now. I'd love to order some of the wargaming supplies from the UK, but shipping makes it hard to justify.

I'm expecting Battletech and Etherfields to shift even more than already stated, I think both are already into July timeframe (from March) now unrelated to the outbreak.

Also, some kickstarters like to use "shipping" as "when it ships from China to distribution", which means a ship leaves China, and a month or so later stuff actually starts shipping...

Do I really need to happily state that I'm smelling roses if a CB rep farts openly again? It's not a disaster, but it's also not a good practice and not something you should do with a customer present, right? Does it ruin their rep? No. Does it make me uncomfortable? Hell, yes.

How long do I need to hold my breath before asking them to stop and get a hold of themselves?

Yeah, I can show you fields of miniatures and months of learning the game, participating in events, investing myself in it.

I'd like to be treated seriously as a customer or I will call the company out. If that's too much to ask these days, then wow.

Or FFG who didn't give release dates even for general releases and just listed product as "on the boat" until it hit their warehouse.

Being treated seriously also means having serious expectations. Is that something we can say we have?

I'm clearly less invested in this than you and nothing has been a surprise.

They said pledging was delayed and gave reasons.

They've now given updates to delays to delivery months in advance.

They've given updates to shipping now they the information necessary to do that (eg. Weights).

I genuinely don't know how you expected this going differently, but from where I'm sitting it appears largely fantasy. And a fantasy by all rights you were forewarned of.

    Yet, now it's CBs fault.

Private carriers gouge even more. And any report of CB using Correos is ooold, anything recent seems to go with other carriers. But if there are variations from one country to another near one, it could be having to pick different carriers to ensure delivery (eg FedEx or whatever as only option for reliable delivery in Italy, while in France another still private, but cheaper, carrier is used).

OTOH, with the COVID-19, how are shipping rates going? Petrol went down IIRC. Oh, well, I can see a "we have the ships stopped far away, se what is left costs more" tricks. Never let a crisis go to waste.

As someone who regularly orders stuff from the other side of the world (mainly japan) I'm not surprised by the shipping costs, this is what it costs to ship heavy things, heck if I where to send a 12kg package from sweden to spain it would cost close to 75€ so this is cheap.

Also the listed shipping costs in the campaign are roughly correct, it will cost 26€ for a collectors box within EU and they listed 20-25€. 44€ to new zealand when they listed 35-40€ is a bit above but not significantly so. Stretch goals that added to the content likely pushed the weight it into the next pricing bracket.

Man, Polish Post Office is apparently cheap af. Like I said, Poland to Spain for 12kg tracked air - 108 PLN = 25 EUR :\

People who call those who complain about wrongdoings small or large "whiners" have historically been rather in the wrong than in the right.

And that’s utterly immaterial. They aren’t shipping from Poland, they’re shipping from Spain.

How exactly is living in Poland with apparently a very cheap postal service immaterial to being surprised everywhere else it's twice as expensive? Rhetorical question.

    Guys, keep it civil, please.

Delays and heavy cost are par for the course when it comes to KS projects, so I'm not surprised by either. These are either in line or slightly better compared to what I've experienced with other backed projects. I'm still on the fence with Defiance - and I'm actually happy that the manager started late, so I have more time to make up my mind - but while delivery is expensive it won't be a deciding factor for me. Especially since I don't need it right the fuck yesterday, so I can get a single wave delivery and wait. Spannungsbogen.

This. Higher service costs come with the territory of other EU countries' wages being much more decent. It's like there's a reason over 2 mln of us lives abroad despite those costs :P

It does suck when we need to pay western costs out of our Polish wages, but hell, if we're buying toys we're not exactly dirt poor.
