From what I can tell, the biggest reason for them to no longer KS is that they've established relationships with retailers and that KS projects can be a bit chaotic. They have a site called kickstarterlessons.com or similar with some interesting stories (edit: it leads to this page: https://stonemaiergames.com/kickstarter/ ). They did face a lot of backlash for how they revealed the daily KS goals, it was unorthodox and some complained that the early bird kind of deal made it hard to tell what it was they had signed up forum . The big thing with early shipping, though, was that hundreds of people updated their addresses on the day when their products were shipped from the regional distribution centres, and as you can imagine it's difficult to update hundreds and hundreds of packages that have already shipped. Basically customers were humans, as customers tend to be, and it made it messy.
I know of a situation where someone ordered a copy of the game in French, was sent a French copy of the game, complained, and then kicked off publicly when a copy of the game in English was not forthcoming immediately. You can't please everyone, doubly so with a KS.
As I asked this on KS but didn't get an answer: When will the retailer pledges be added? Do they count towards more Stretch Goals?
Some ideas : Fat Yuan-Yuan mission ? Mission for all other heroes ? More tiles ? CA heroes ? Enough ennemy cards to have every role for every faction ? (seen on the KS comments) Every outrage character from the outrage box as an hero/enemy
I have to give credit to Douglas Adams for that one. Sometimes I forget not everyone has the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy near-memorised.
Enemy's perspective campaign would be neat-o, but it does look like the project is mostly done. I dislike how there's so little written content on the KS page. Searching images and videos is very difficult on a time budget.
Technically late pledges should also count towards stretch goals too. Some companies do this and some do not. While I cannot speak for CB, my gut tells me that the stretch goal frenzy is over. I'm OK with that.
What streach goal are we expecting ? They already unlocked all of them (while I guess they made some of them up as the KS kept growing).
