FAQ expanded: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/corvusbelli/infinity-defiance/faqs And apparently we get to pay 20-25 EUR for shipping TWICE if we want anything in July 2020 wave. This is not cool, unless the shipping cost is estimated for two waves.
It may not be cool, but it was entirely predictable. Shipping internationally isn't cheap, and my experience with Kickstarters has been that if you opt in for a two-stage shipping deal, you get punched in the wallet as a result. This is one area where I don't expect them to change anything, though they may be able to bring costs down a bit once they know exactly what they're dealing with after the campaign ends.
No joan swim suit. But id love a santiago in here, the boarding action expert guys are an obvious fit. I dont think we'll make it to another expansion, but if we had i guess that's where second nomad and second pano character would have been. Since yu jing and ariadna already double dipped
Given the KS funding dynamics we might. A lot of people are waiting until near the end, for many reasons. I guess we'll see.
Kickstarters almost always have a spike in funding in their last 24-48 hours when people who set reminders come back, reassess, and make their decisions. Also, CB said in the comments that the retail pledges will count toward unlocking goals, and there's no way to know what effect that'll have until the campaign ends.
I would definitely buy another expansion if it had a swimsuit Santiago. One interesting thing about the 4 Platinum Pledge heroes is that they will all have alternate models by the time the Kickstarter delivers
I think we can all agree that if there's one thing this Kickstarter doesn't need, it's a Paolo Parente guest box.
This is now a must-buy for me. If only it was real. Get him in a classic muscle-man/conan beefcake pose too.
I'm not sure there's a price too high for that! Slightly more on topic, the next revealed stretch goal is an Uxia Mission, hopefully we'll get one for the bulky Yuan Yuan, and one for Lei Gong.
I'm not sure predictable is a fair assessment. It was not initially stated anywhere that add-ons and such were going to be later delivery and the only thing initially stated about releases was July 2020. While paying for 2-stage is standard, there was no reason to expect this would be a 2-stage shipping until it came out in the comments
That's fair. I think it came out pretty early on though--I've been aware of it for at least a few days now though I can't pinpoint where I first read it.
Two wave shipping is officially a thing now, it's in the FAQ questions: Users may choose a single shipping or two shippings. If you choose a two-wave shipping (wave 1 and wave 2) we will send your stuff in two parts, so you will have your game earlier. . In wave 1, the Core, Collector’s, and Deluxe will be sent, but not the expansion or the add-ons. Excepting cardsleeves and the Scenery Pack. Wave 1 will be shipped in July 2020. In wave 2, the expansion and the rest of the add-ons will be shipped. It will be shipped in fall 2020. In short, if you choose the Platinum pledge you may receive the Core, Collector's & Deluxe contents first and the expansion and addons later, or all at the same time in wave 2. Of course, receiving everything together saves you money in shipping costs. If you choose a single shipping we will send everything in wave 2. So it looks like Outcasts is where they realized "Maybe we can't finish all this by July." :)
I think the key factor is that it hadn't been officially announced until the FAQ update and there is nothing in the campaign or updates (Comments, where I think it had come out, are near impossible to find information in when it gets as many as are in there now) to even make you think that there would be 2-wave shipping. THen in the sole place where it is officially mentioned, the FAQ, there is nothing about cost estimates for single vs. multiple wave
My personal pet peeve is the complete inattention to actual gameplay information by CB in the campaign. 3 internal videos with a pittance of how it works. I thought the Remotes one was going to give us some actual information, but nope. Not even a mention of how the F2F rolls make it very different from other DCs.
Why no JSA and especially no Tohaa/Spiral hero? Armand would be nice, although I wouldn't mind a new Tohaa (race, not faction) character in infinity at all!
I don't know Kickstarters and stuff. Are all of the figures exclusive to just this? Are we never going to be able to buy stuff separately? That really sucks if you are not able to buy into the KS.
They've said that all of these sculpts are KS-exclusive. They've also said that most if not all (can't recall which) of these units will see regular releases in the next year or so, but with alternative sculpts. Think I've got that right... Finally, the updated FAQ says they will accept late pledges, so even if you can't back during the KS itself, you're not out in the cold.
