For what I read, it's a free trading agreement, as if UK was a part of the EU; then fishing rights go down by 25% and last the next 5 years (then it will be a yearly agreement), and everything else is like a non-EU country. This has come after a complete lockdown of three days because of the second virus outbreak, but my personal opinion is that it was a political lockdown to show how a no-deal Brexit would go. Considering there were articles about fresh food being rationed that third day...
If it was political, it was the worst organised blockade ever with complete disagreement for how to do it and lockdowns ranging from none to three days and some nations pouring resources to get it lifted as early as possible and the ring leaders of the blockade being the British laboratories urgently urging Europe to take this utmost seriously. Sure, Tories need a gigantic kick in the arse and this gave them a small one, but let's dial down the conspiration theories just a tad.
I have been thinking, based in how it goes with other places... I agree. Business may or may not remove "source" VAT, then government officiers will inspect and ask for "delivery" VAT (because "free" trade, not for profit, just the law, unrelated to duty taxes being 0%... more like "ball-to-the-ankle-of-plebs" trade, @xagroth, we can move but not nice) applied to the full amount (even if part of shipping is outside, and even if it may be wrongly inflated by "source" VAT)... which of course means courier/post staff will demand no less than 10-20 for (mis)handling the papers (profit! private sector FTW! automatization? hah, that is for leaking your data). So unless you are lucky and the package sneaks in (rare, limits have been lowered a lot), small trade is better done inside same commercial block, a lot less of fuss. Bigger trade will also have bumps, but they will appear smaller when compared with the total amount. Speaking of... maybe we should start cancelling accounts. Read somewhere Stasibook already moved UK data to US. GW maybe will ban sales like they did to Australia, meaning a serious hit for some UK shops even if you do not buy that brand, leading to closures and bankrupcy deals. In any case, if accounts become useless becasue paperwork fees kill any advantage, better clean up early. "Happy Xmas, Have a Nice Brexit, Greetings to Cameron, Cancel my Account and Good Bye!" Sad, but that is how things seem to be developing. Yes, I am bitter about how some can trash a lot for their personal gains, sometimes just the ego pumping. Oh, Elizabeth II said nothing about Brexit in Xmas speech, how do you "read" that? Conspiration and skill are ortogonal. Covid has demostrated coordination in EU is, saying it politely, poor. South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan fared a lot better, showing it can be handled, but in EU everyone took it easy (siesta for everyone!), plus the Brussels excuse, leading to the fuckery that is to come (tourism is down... new unemployed will reduce buying products... cascade in other sectors). Even New Zeland and Australia did it acceptably, discarding it being to being West culture problem. OTOH, delaying and causing chaos means there is less time to read the 2000 pages than if it was done past summer. Distraction games. And there is always the happy coincidence from which some try to take advantage.
She shouldn’t comment on a political matter. That’s part of the social contract; the Crown is above party politics. Thus, you don’t read anything into it. Seriously, turn down the conspiracy theories. Perhaps look up the definition of sovereignty, understanding that concept helps a great deal.
The speech recording was delayed, UK news mention Brexit as reason. And in 2019 news (UK and foreign too) pondered if the brooch had a meaning, and words like "reconciliation" were there. Quick search for transcriptions suggests she never says "Brexit", so maybe if there is any "mention", it is always indirect. If politics do not matter, you do not delay recordings and just go with the list of past year events and a generic speech about the future. Similar theatrics are played in Spain (a parliamentary constitutional monarchy too) every Xmas. This year BBC took note of the allusion to previous king shady business.
Ok bro. You do you. Find a conspiracy under every rock; that says everything about you and nothing about reality.
All I want to know is how things are going, including the non verbal language, and more important the actions of some, and related consecuences. I also mentioned that there are coincidences: Brexit negotiations always have gone slow, so "finished" very late (it seems services are not covered by the deal, not really finished)... same time than one more fuck up of the virus handling. But if me trying to understand what is beyond words (specially with those that are assumed to not talk openly) or what drives the acts of others or the consecuences of past actions, means you call me conspiracionist, so be it. It would be a lot simpler to explain the world if lots of those "smartly organized conspirations" existed... but I do not think that is the case.
Shipping & customs. Enjoy your paperwork if you want things from eg Antenociti. BTW, hours ago I read that some recommend voting abstain instead of yes to the Brexit doc.
Yes, and that doesn't really have anything to do with customs or conspiracy against the public. The only thing interesting in that article regarding abstaining is that it's a conservative recommending it. I think what's frustrated the EU side of the negotiations so much is that the UK side isn't interested in establishing an agreement so much as using the negotiations as a tool for internal politics, so stuff that's bad for the UK or parts of the UK may be stuff that Boris' team pushed for, not the EU, so there's going to be a lot of interest from a lot of parties in renegotiating the agreement in the future and that requires overturning it internally which in turn is harder to do if you consented to it in the first place. The whole TLDR of this is that the situation is both a lot more complex and a lot more simple than conspiracies would explain.
Then make a brexit / customs / shipping from & to UK thread. Stop spamming in the Defiance thread, this stuff is not about the game.
I’m Australian; we’re already subjected to customs despite being part of the Commonwealth. Australians have been screwed over long enough by the EEC shenanigans of the UK, Brexit is nothing but good from our perspective*. *unless you read the Sydney Morning Herald, in which case it’s the greatest disaster ever to befall humanity, except for all the other greatest disasters to befall humanity.
Take it easy... Wednesday is holiday. Slow week, days are: back to work, eve, holiday with more gifts, talk about gifts, Friday.
I really feel like they just rub it in the face with regular releases at this point. (Oh but you get another *exclusive* sculpt. It was nevar meant to be ks exclusive!)
Kusanagi, Cho, Messer, Aida, Uxia... are the same sculps that in Defiance? No? So they are exclusives... We knew this since day one.
Yeah, we were told from the start that the models in Defiance would be unique sculpts, but not unique models or however you want to phrase it. As I posted elsewhere, I wonder if the models were added to Defiance since they were already planned resculpts anyway, so the work would be easy enough for some Add-ons. Looking over the Fed release photo's for instance, while there is a general release Aida, you will probably like one sculpt more than the other anyway, so options are always good. It would have been nice to have the second wave delivered first (no slight to those waiting on first, sorry!), since we prepaid a year ago for it, but it's not a big deal for me. Having a general release Hawkwood out before our pre-ordered Hawkwood is not the best, but I don't care about Hawkwood anyway... Maybe we'll get Cho before anyone, maybe we won't, but she should have been general release a year+ ago I think, so it's confusing. :)
I don't really care if they are exclusives or not (also that would be like pay-to-win). I'm frustrated that all these new sculpts they've been waving during the KS campaing (Only KS! Only in Platinum! No general release, only here or never! Mmm... let that FOMO sink in!) are getting general release before I can finally get my copy. Even translucent dice set! Kusanagi resculpt was a pretty big deal for me back then, that was one of the reasons I went all-in for Platinum pledge (since it was the only way to get her back then before pledge manager). And I'll still get a spitfire one just for wysiwig.
I guess I am sorry that a worldwide pandemic might cause the release order of the sculpts to change. The last update on Wave 2 is that they were looking to get it out of China before the New Year in mid-February, if this is possible (which is honestly a maybe considering the state of international logistics at the moment) you should actually get the Defiance sculpt before the general release, if not then it'll be a little after.
