@Florian Hanke @chaos11 @colbrook thanks gents I'll be cutting it close but as I get paid on the 3rd but I can get my pre order on the final day
I haven't seen anyone mention this but is the reason for C1 being just PanO, YJ, CA, and O12 cause those are the only factions with a major presence on Sval? C1 is its own story, right? So this would be the fallout from the Wotan campaign where the CA freighter plot armored its way through the jump gate and ended up on Sval. Spoiler an EXRAH freighter
> an EXRAH freighter And they said on the podcast they're thinking whether or not to add models to a certain faction the coming year...
That would have to assume that they planned out the armies for CodeOne when they did Wildfire and tied it to Svalarheima, which is possible, but I think it's more likely they're still filling out minis for O12 so it'd make sense for them (and Shas) to be CodeOne so they can be released as part of the big push. Next years operation will be two new armies for Code1, so we have left Nomads, Aleph, Haqq and Ariadna. I'm leaving towards Nomads vs Aleph, but I'm sort of surprised if Ariadna isn't soon.
We might see all 4 next year, an Operation box and two Action packs. So even if Ariadna isn't in Operation: TikiBeach the contents of Coldfront & Beyond could still come out like they're doing with O-12 and CA.
The Code One is very smart product design It's built as a starter set for distributors and stores That's kind of exactly what they need!
Yeah, listening to Bostria on Mayacast there's obviously been a lot of thought and work into making Code One something a store can use to create and grow an Infinity community without having to grab 500 SKUs at once. The drip feed of factions isn't great for us vets, but we're more the target audience for N4.
I' m just sad i have to wait until the end of april for the rules. I'm not one to pre-order without a look at those first. I guess i don't need the ninja anyway.
I also think Aleph v Nomads. These starters have been almost arch enemies...PanO v Yu Jing; Combined Army vs Combine Human Sphere. What this means, though, is that we need to start some real beef between Ariadna and Haqqislam. We can start by saying that Haqq has the second best gene splicers in the Sphere...right behind the Antipodes.
I wonder if the Action Packs will draw from older sets like Coldfront? If so, that'd be the the Aleph/Ariadna, leaving Haqq and Nomad for the Operation, but that doesn't seem as handy. I certainly don't see them doing Action Pack Yu Jing/ Red Veil, for instance, or Pano/Icestorm, and both Red Veil and Icestorm's forces are already released as army packs without the addition of Beyond forces. So it just leaves Aleph, really, without a current Army pack. I had assumed that release of O12/Shas(CA) would be the next Action Packs, then when Operation: 2021 released you'd get the PanO/YuJing from Kaldstrom as action packs. But who knows what will actually play out, I guess. Also, of course, this is all CodeOne stuff, it's entirely possible they'll still do N4 Army releases such as Bureau ShootingStuff or whatever. And of course, the release "schedule" from the video doesn't have like, actual dates, so who knows what time frame the followup stuff is running.
We could also see something like Nomads/Ariadna with the Haqq part of Red Veil, and Aleph part of Coldfront becoming Action Packs, there's lots of possibilities. We could also see former Operation and Beyond contents becoming booster packs, like a PanO booster with Nisse Sniper, Swiss HMG, Kamau HMG.
The video today suggests we will be seeing Sphinx and Zeta soon(tm) based on the future projection as Code One products. In fact, it looks like they could probably fill out most of the rest of the releases this year with just C1 backfill. A lot will be repacks of recent stuff, but tons of new things in there... If you don't play aleph, Ariadna, haqq or nomads.
I definitely can see it being Nomads/Aleph and Haqq/Ariadna. Nomads/Aleph are hated enemies and Haqq/Arianda has both groups using regular rifles. It would be wonderful in the Haqq/Arianda is QK versus MRRF!
Smart thing to do would be: Nomads vs ALEPH Ariadna vs Tohaa(lets you 'recreate' the Dawn on Paradiso or Merovingia can be used for that short story that we got with Paradiso as well!) The thing to remember about QK is that it's a defunct concept that really needed to be retired with NA2s. It has too much crossover there. Better to let it die than continue taking up space now.
Whilst 2-4 releases every month will be aimed at C1, that still leaves 1-3 slots for other factions. Most C1 products are also boxes which leaves opportunities for long awaited blisters like (according to Bostria) the Securitate Feueueurbach.
I frigging knew they'd pull that nonsense. I KNEW it. They go and add a Repeater to the Boarding Shotgun Securitate(they actually modeled it on there! She has a 'backpack' that nobody else does for the Securitate models), cut out the model people were excited for, and then leave Securitate and Grenzers 'incomplete' because of it. Shame they don't do alternate arms or heads, because the missing profiles would be solved almost instantly if they did.
He mentioned something about it being good since players would be able to buy multiples without needing to buy the entire box. "This blister includes an Intel Spec-Ops with Sniper Rifle, Molotok, and CC Weapon options for the right arm and Heavy Pistol and Unarmed hand options for the left arm. The Spec-Ops that Ariadna's players need." https://store.corvusbelli.com/wargames/infinity/miniatures/intel-spec-ops-heavy-pistol-sniper
That's one example, and completely ignores the context of the Securitate issue. We wouldn't need to avoid "having to buy the entire box" if it actually came with alternate parts.
