I think the fact that the Sapper can still deploy untethered to terrain may still be a nice comfort feature that keeps them a little relevant in some lists, but only 6 points difference is a bit nuts.
Wow... This update is pretty hot. this is kind of a straight upgrade for me. Increasing link flexibility is never a bad thing. I might be crazy but ORC core is what I'm most excited for!
I think it’s still the same. Machinist can join a bagh-mari link, nothing else. If bagh-maris join a regular core, than that’s a regular link, so machinist can’t join.

Quick rant to get it off my chest: The update went about as expected, SAA got a pretty decent improvement. Here's the part that really grinds my gears. It's the most uninspired bullshit they could have come up with. - Combine the two viable Core Links into one uber Core Link to rule them all, add Orcs for flavour - this in turn pretty much invalidates the new Machinist Profile and Orc Core option, which suffer from Santiago Syndrom straight away - Singh not getting his broken rule interaction fixed is up there with the laziest decisions I've seen in a while - Rao getting Wildcard is nice and all, but this pretty much only enables a full Orc Core for LI if someone really wants to torture himself - Tik getting Duo only enables him to have Rao tag along for god knows what reason.... - Asspistol and LSG cost on top of Combis has not been touched (Disclaimer: this might still happen in November, but it seems CB doesn't actually plan to fix that or Aragoto are an exception I'm not aware of) I'll happily take the new and improved version, thank you very much. But I really didn't need SAA to be better, I'd have liked it to have more variety and internal balance instead. The new Montesa is great, good riddance to the old one (although I'm about to get 2 of the Spitfire sculpts). #FirstWorldPanOProblems
Sorry to anyone upset with these changes, congrats on those happy with them. Not sorry to say "Called it!" with regards to no Feuerbach for the Orcs.
By the by, I think I like the ORC in Regulars more than the ORC in Fusiliers. The Bagh Mari at 4-2, BS12, 1.5 SWC means that the ORC brings a lot more in comparison: +2 BS, increase in MOV speed, only slightly increased SWC cost for the heavy weapon. Compare that to ORC vs Kamau: 4-4 MOV, BS13, 1 SWC HMG, and the ORC HMG isn't bringing as much in the way of major upgrades. The Regular Spitfire and Minelayer are also really nice cheap additions to the link too. They make really good support tools for the ORC.
We might yet get it at some point, probably after VIRD showing up. NCA just got new Deva profiles, so it's a toss-up.
And Shock Army and MO got the new Montesas... I feel like if it were going to show up? It should be there.
IF it's going to happen, I'd see it playing out just like this, the new profiles roll out after SE drops.
Yeah, you might be right. That's why I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'm probably going to pick up VIRD so I'll be able to play with that Feuerbach anyway, but for now I'm assuming that ASA changes are done.
^this When a unit gets new profiles they seem to roll out the profiles across all factions that have that unit. See Druze, Anaconda, Deva... Probably other stuff I've forgotten.
