"So he revealed a TO HI from HD in ARO and now AP/EXP ML shots are flying around, what am I supposed to do and more importantly, what the hell is he talking about!?" If you're new to Infinity, you might have already noticed we use a lot of acronyms to save time. This list written to facilitate the introduction, so you may soon sling TLAs with the best of them. (To experienced players: Yes, the descriptions are superficial and incomplete. They're supposed to be. This is an intro glossary, not a wiki) 360V = 360º Visor AC = [Portable] Autocannon (anti-armor weapon) AD = Airborne Deployment AD1 = Airborne Deployment: Parachutist (choose a table edge quarter before the battle) AD2 = Airborne Deployment: Airborne Infiltration (choose the table edge quarter immediately before landing) AD4 = Airborne Deployment: Combat Jump (place a circular template and land in that area) ADHL = Adhesive Launcher AHD, assHD = Assault Hacking Device AP = Assault Pistol / Armor-Piercing [ammo] / Anti-Personnel [mines] ARO = Automatic Reaction Order (pretty much everything you do in the reactive turn) ASA = Acontecimento Shock Army (a PanOceanian sectorial army) ASS = Assault Sub-Section of the ALEPH forces (a.k.a. TOFOOS - Thermo Optical Forward Observer Order Sergeant Doom Link - 5 man HI link with Joan, usually Joan + 3 Hospitaller Knights (Doctor, HMG, Boarding Shotgun), with an accosional presence of AHD hacker de Fersen.
I've seen MBT for Main Battle TAG a lot, referring to TAGs that aren't super (Avatar, Cutter, Marut, etc.) or light (under 8 ARM, Spitfire or non-MULTI HMG). Basically the "standard" TAG that many factions have a similar option to.
Pain Train: a 5 man fireteam devoted to inflict pain on the enemy, usually consisting on HI. Ironically, it starter as a reference to a 5 Mobile Brigada fireteam, at least on the Spanish Forum...
Probably wouldn't hurt to add "WYSIWYG" to the list for "What You See Is What You Get" when referring to the equipment a model has.
TMM = True Metallic Metal (painting a metallic effect with actual metallic pigment applied in zones like NMM, ie, not just wash + drybrush) CA [glue] = cyanoacrylate (superglue) Extra Opaques = some VMC sold with VGC label (so think the other way around, if you need EO for VGC, check VMC range) VMA = Vallejo Model Air (a line of paints, militar colors mostly, can be used with furrybrush too) VGA = Vallejo Game Air (a line of paints, same consistency than VMA, but bright, fantasy, colors) P3 = Privateer Press' Formula P3 (a line of paints, similar to 80s GW) Coat, CD = Coat D'Arms (a line of paints, most of them the 80s GW with new names) Kneadatite = the real brand of GS ProCreate = (you, dirty minds...) another two part epoxy putty, grey color
MLG= my latest grievance. Used almost exclusively, and frequently, by Pan-O players. And anyone discussing scale or tactical debris. Order Monkey = synonym for cheerleader
FFS, I've played Yu Jing for years but even the most frustrated of us didn't feel a need to invent a whole term for their sole use.
Just curious, what does SKU mean? I’ve seen it thrown around a lot since the Daedalus Falls announcement.
stock keeping unit A stock keeping unit (SKU) is a product and service identification code for a store or product, often displayed as a machine-readable bar code that helps track the item for inventory.
Fire Team Option It doesn't do anything by itself, but Fireteam creation rules often reference it (For example, only the Jazz FTO profile is a Wildcard in Corregidor, the Jazz+Billie option can't join Fireteams).
