For the life of me, I can’t figure out why the come out with what they do. We’ve NEEDED and asked for a Guilang specialist literally for years. Instead, we get the Hulang, who people have been complaining about for years. He looks cool, but then so could a Guilang. For me, if playing Vanilla or WB, Guilang FO or Hacker is just about the first pick in any force. I’ve at least been lucky enough to have the first edition figure. But I'd like another. I do understand however that it’s a figure that they might see the table as a figure one turn in three at times. But it’s still better than never. Edit: If I could get a "White Banner" Box. I think I'd want this. White Banner box ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 4 1 BEASTHUNTERS (Surprise Attack [-3], Camouflage, Forward Deployment [+8"]) Heavy Flamethrower, Panzerfaust, AP Mines / EXP CC Weapon(+1B), Pistol. (0 | 17) YĚ MĀO (Engineer, Deactivator) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust, D-Charges ( | GizmoKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 31) DÀOFĚI (Hacker, Hacking Device) MULTI Rifle, D-Charges ( ) / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0.5 | 56) GŬILÁNG (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 26) TIGER SOLDIER (Paramedic) Combi Rifle, Light Flamethrower ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 31) 0.5 SWC | 161 Points Open in Infinity Army
We were so lucky that Long Yas got releseased when they did. A month or 2 later and who knows what would happen. Sadly if/when they resculpt baggages and Yaoxies we will get them in plastic
I mean I still think the long ya cockbot sculpts are horrific despite being metal but maybe that's just me....
I'm about as enthusiastic of them as I can be about remotes in general, I quite like their bipedal aesthetic and its variation from the standard concept. But I understand that it's a bit of a polarized case, and can totally understand why some people wouldn't like them. For what it's worth, they'll never leave marker state enough to ever actually get painted anyway.
Honestly hope they remake the current Long Ya profile into a Yaokong variant and make the Long Ya a proper S5. They are seriously very big minis. I dunno what goes into the decisions for what goes plastic and what doesn't. I'd have expected Yaokong to be plastic but they were metal. It's possible that there's something in the mini designs that makes them less suitable for plastic
Siocast has worse reputation than it deserves I think, newer sculpts are better than the initial ones. As far as Long Ya go, they are adorable as they are, something an engineer made and left no designer touch it.
I am going to attempt to mash the long ya body onto a Dronbot chasis. I tried with a Yaokong chasis but the legs get in the way.
In my humble opinion the Long Ya is the ugliest miniature in the entire YJ range. But that's just esthetics - entirely subjective :).
It does. I should have said, "if they ever came out with with a new one." Sadly the action pack has almost nothing I use except the Daofei spitfire. The set I suggested, I'd actually use all of them.
You don't use the BSG Guilang? That's in practically every WB and Vanilla list I make. I've used all the models in the pack except Jing Qo.
Most of the time I want FO or Hacker. Neither of them have a BSG. I have my old combi Guilang and it often gets double duty as more than one Guilang. I could use it as a proxy but I think the gun is the mort important things for a proxy.
When the BSG guilang would be a specialist i would use him. The sculpt is great but mainly i want my guilang to push buttons.
At least he's not the BSG Nokken. I've seen mixed opinions on the Guilang Minelayer, but never even heard of his opposite number showing up outside of Code One intro games. I'm another owner of the old-style Combi Guilang, found at the back of a blister rack in a store that was about to close down. Usually when I brainstorm lists for White Co. or Yu Jing I take one Combi FO and one Minelayer- the FO goes by an objective I think I can grab safely, the Minelayer slows down the enemy at the objective that favours them in an attempt to trap forces in the midfield where I can destroy them on turn 2. Definitely think the plain Combi Guilang should be the first thing Yu Jing sees once CB is done rolling out Code One, though. What is with this company and releasing models for every profile people don't use, seriously there's ~11 Bolts and none of them have the Boarding Shotgun needed for link filler and Specialist work.
BSG is great. I just want a figure for the combi. I've been so disappointed with the last few figures to come out for Yu Jing and it's been so few too. the last figure I was totally excited to get was the three section staff shaolin. Shang Ji and Jujak close second. Second Shaolin is ok. Ye Mao is a bit boring and I hate they put swords into non-close combat guys. Long Ya grew on me a bit but still not amazed by them. I haven't even bothered to get the Tian Gou or Lei Gong. I like the look of the new Hulang to come out but hate his rules. I might get him to proxy something else.

I'm a little nervous about this Reinforcements rule. It feels like the game is going to grow in size and I'm not too happy about that. I like my skirmish game and want it to stay that way.
So far reinforcements sounds more like adding options and flexibility than simply increasing trooper count.
