Good strat, but doesn't unfortunately work that well against repeater carrying models or not at all against deployed repeaters.

That is true, I have relegated Bixie and Guijia more than once in repeater carrier units and deployed repeaters clearing duty.

Yes! My Hulang was useless a couple games because some forward repeaters were deployed near him. There was no way to get to an objective because of it. One time I did manage to destroy the repeater but used so many orders to do it that I didn’t have many orders for the Hulang to get the work done. At least with a Daofei or a Zhencha I can walk right past it. But hey, he looked cool on the table.

    Back to "In the Future".
I'm guessing we are going to get at least one more Naval troop like everyone else. I'm also pretty curious about the Reinforcement rule. Again, I'm guessing, that it's troops that you will be able to hold back and then later bring on from a deployment edge. Which will be totally useless if objectives are at the middle of the table, and you need a specialist to get to them. Hopefully it’s like a limited Parachutist.

the main problem of the Hulang is its lack of mobility. Give him 6-2, S-Jump and C+ and you get a hunter much more apt to use his stealth skill and do what is expected of him.
in other words, give us back the Shikami.

Camouflage. Hulang doesn't have Camouflage so has problems moving past Repeaters if the opponent has Sixth Sense on a hacker.
Hulang is also 4-4 which means they don't Cautious Move very far.

A lot the things that happened to me, if I recall correctly, was being hacked when I deployed a CK, dodging a mine, and just being in LoS of something.

Agree. Just copy the rules. Blame JSA for copying it and be done :innocent:

PS: In the future I think we got a REM Racer gal ;-)

Supposedly that was just artwork and they had no plans of doing actual figures. I kind of doubt that because it really sucks. when they have a profile and no figure. Also no good proxy for it.

So far this year we’ve gotten Lei Gong, who I won’t get. Now Hulang, who I won’t get. So the next one I won’t get will be a Crane MR, Hundun SMR, or Zhanying BSG.

What we need and want is a Guilang, Liu Xing, and Bixie that doesn't require you spending a lot of money or somehow being lucky enough to win a tournament.

I understand you not liking certain profiles, but some of us are waiting for these profiles to have miniatures.

I mean your choice but it's literally one of the most useful units for both White Banner and Invincibles you can buy. Lei Gong is consistently an important heavy lifter for me.

New Hulang looks so rad, that even though I only fielded the previous one once, this one is an instabuy. He can be Bixie until I ever manage to win a tourney, lol :D

He looks kick ass! I want him just to paint. However, I can’t justify buying something I never use. I just don’t have that kind of disposable income.

How many here actually use the forward deploy Hulang on a regular basis and it does well the majority of the time? Personally, if I need a specialist, with a short-range weapon, I’ll take the Zhencha. Sure, Hulang has Mim-6, but to get into good range with his SMG, he needs to be within 8”. Many times, that’s also the enemies +3 or even +6 range. He doesn’t get a surprise shot either. The Zhencha has same BS, surprise shot, better PH, camo state, Climb+, BSG or SMG, better infiltration, and cheaper! I’ve also not had luck with Crazy Koalas. They are always easily dodged, or they make their ARM save. Could just be bad luck.

However, I use a Guilang in every single White Banner and Vanilla game. I’m luckily enough to have the 1st edition figure, since I’ve been playing that long lol. But I’d really appreciate a new one. Especially a hacker.

I’ve also been playing the Liu Xing Spitfire or MR in Vanilla. I think I used the existing figure as a hacker once.

Another that I’ve used a few times so far is the Ye Mao Engineer. I also recently had some success with the YM Missile Launcher.

Others I’d like to see are Mowang Spitfire (preferably not costing $33! Yikes! Another one I haven’t gotten due to the price) and Krit Kokram Feuerbach.

Unfortunately there’s not much for them to come out with for Yu Jing unless they make a new troop or re-sculpt some like the Bao.

The only sculpt of Krit not covered by his existing miniature would be his heavy shotgun profile.

? I think of the existing one as being for the MR and HSG. A Feuerbach is a lot bigger. It's a bit confusing to opponents to say this guy with pistols is using a big heavy weapon.

For the majority of people, including me, from a distance, it looks like a pistol. Especially to those that don't play YJ or Krit in particular. Believe me, I've had opponents ask me several times what weapon he had and didn't understand he had a big gun and not a pistol.

I can understand that, but from a design perspective, if a new miniature is to be designed, the option not covered by this miniature is the most logical to be selected.

Then they need to look at the miniature.

Sure, people expect big SWC guns to be modelled, but the revolver-style Chain Colt (that you will find across several factions) is clearly different from the two revolver style Heavy Pistols he's got (one in hand, one in holster)

For what it's worth, the miniature was correct for all load outs as a universal stand-in when it was released. HSG profile lost the Chain Colt when N4 revamped shotguns.
