Yes. I mean, that's the expected behaviour of the system, it's not a bug. It's a feature. Whether it should or should not be a feature depends on preference, I love it this way.
It just means I've had to unblock a user so I can participate in the monthly speculation threads. I don't believe this is how it worked on the old forum and was surprised to see the change.
