I've actually got to disagree with you there. While "Smoke Dodge" is a terribly mangling of various game terms, what it means is not ambiguous. As @inane.imp points out above, saying that you "idle" as ARO is unclear and conflates a wide variety of mutually exclusive scenarios.
anyone point out for the beginers that "Holding" will also drop you out of HD. its pretty important as a means of fishing for TO snipers

Just say you're going to throw smoke, or ARO smoke, or whatever. Smoke is a Special Dodge, but it's not a Dodge, so calling it a Smoke Dodge declaration is a thing that doesn't exist, and leads to misunderstandings with newer players.
Technically it would be "BS attack with a smoke grenade" Because the "Dodge" component is independent of the actual act of throwing smoke and relies on your opponents choices as much as your won
